It was in the patch notes a few weeks ago. No need to read the actual forum threads like this one but it's always a good idea to read patch notes. Avoids the need to start this thread.

I was posting a discussion on why they do not communicate removal of character buffs on the login interface of the xbox one. Why should I avoid doing that?

If the PC patch notes are the same as the console patch notes, then why don't they just call them Patch Notes for all Updates.

I understand that the PC players on here want to defend the game or ZOS. I am not attacking them. I am asking "why" we cannot get proper communication on the Xbox login screen, especially buffs being removed from our characters.

The reason is because it's already posted somewhere and it takes just a minute to actually find them.

Look, stop being oblivious to the issue. I have no idea if PC has the luxury of being able to read patch notes in game (you know, like most other MMOs on PC have), however. Assuming you do, console doesn't. I, for one, regularly check the Patch Notes section, but not everyone does. Console doesn't have fancy addons that can quickly measure dps or healing via meters to instantly tell if something is off or if something is working as expected.

This "2 Sided Communication" thing you're talking about is nothing, but a biased answer from someone who can't stop riding the ZOS Carebear Train. The Patch Notes are only communicated in a way that forces individuals to visit the forums. It's an old and archaic way of communicating changes in the MMO world. Not everyone lives on their computers, can't say the same for the Fanboi Regime though.

Bottom line, it's not difficult to have the notes listed, in game, as several other games do. Hell, a Non-MMO game on Xbox One is doing that currently. That's new....and refreshing! No one has ever done that! /sarcasm

Ok. Well perhaps they should just spam your screen with a wall of text before you can log in to the game. I very much doubt the few people who have issues with going to the forum to read the patch notes would shadow the overwhelming response you would see from people upset that everytime they go to log in this wall of text appears telling you about these changes.

If that is so, then I am sure they were surprised. Just asking for a note on the login screen, which is scrollable, so no need for any wall of text.

My previous MMO had information available within the game, no need to visit forums, trackers or such.

I am surprised that the request of more information is a bad thing. It would provide a way to open communication & news more between players and the company. I have noticed that those responding in favor of some sort of in game communication are new posters to these forums and probably xbox players such as myself. I am not sure how asking for this kind of proper communication hurts those of you wanting to take the extra time to visit forums, and trackers and such, though I admire your dedication to the game.

The entire premise of this thread assumes that mundus stone removal is the only thing that should have proactive communication. What about people more concerned about the CP functionality changes? Where's their login message? Or people whose build is impacted by the class skill and passive changes? What if you are primarily a RPer, and heavily impacted by the change to collectible storage? Where's your message? Or people that belong to a guild that only does end game trials and dungeons, shouldn't they get a message about the changes that significantly impact their gameplay?

How are they to decide what changes need to go into those notices. Maybe they should post the entire patch note document, and force console users to check the box saying you read and understand them before you can launch the game after changes have been made. Would that be adequate?

I think Zeni strikes an ok balance by advising that changes have been made, and to read the patch notes on the forum for more details. Absolutely they need better communication about a lot of things. A whole lot of things. But people are fussing far more about this one specific thing more than is warranted.

And that's not even taking into account that the mundus removal was an unintended part of a fix to the "multiple mundus" bug.

I am not sure opening a discussion in the forums under the section titled Discussion is fussing.

I acted, to put a buff on my character, and it was removed (even tho it wasn't intended to be) by the latest patch. I just think that the console players (xbox) should be able to know that ingame, without taking the time to get on a computer and read a list of patch notes on the company website.

It was interesting ingame as I went to Mournhold and in area chat told people they were all missing there Mundas Stone Buff. Everyone there (and there were quite a few) had no clue it was missing. So I do not believe I am alone in the fact that just a simple two sentences in the login area would have helped since something was deactivated on a players character.

I am still unclear why you would not want added communication between the players and the company? (and it seems so are quite a few other people posting on here)

Though, again, raising my point, why is the subject whining, I thought this was a discussion forum to discuss these things so that the developers could see what we would like and not like?

I play on PC, and to be honest I don't know anyone who actually uses the launcher for anything but updates. Most players just launch the game via the .exe because the launcher is bugghell and have caused many problems in the past.

I am sure it wouldn't hurt the community, if they put in a small notification pop-up with a link to the patch note information in section of their FAQ list in the game. This way players who are interested could click the link and read the updates in the game, while others would click away and not read it.

If you mention that you find a little notification with a link to useful information within the game annoying, how about all the crown store updates and pop-ups? Or the links you get, when you go to a crafting station to craft and the closest button leads to Crown Store Mimic Stones.

They DID tell you. In the patch notes that you can read on these very forums. No other game that I have played has ever put a big ass warning when you login telling you that they did something. Because it's your job as a user to go to the official site to read what they changed. it's not their job to repeat the message by putting it on their official forums, plastering it an ingame message system that repeats every 5-10 min (because that never gets annoying or any thing), sending you an email, and sending you a physical letter stating "hey, things change in an MMO. These are the things that are changing this month."

They did post what was going on. Because you can't be bothered to check what is going on on their official forums where they post all their big news, information, bug fixes, ect. is not their fault. It's yours. No game comes to your door and takes you by the hand and sits you down to explain that they are fixing or changing things in game.

And no, it's not our job to do anything of the sort. My job pays me. ZOS doesn't. Blizzard, Trion Worlds, Square Enix, just to name a few, all list their patch notes, in game, under a separate tab at login screen. Crawl back to your basement.

Yeah, because the big lettering on the launcher called PATCH NOTES is hard to click. And no, none of those games post patch notes in game, they post patch notes on the launcher. Launcher =/= in game. I can not crawl back to what does not exist, but you sir, need to crawl out of yours.

well you do have to go get it again regardless so its not obvious until you realize its gone.

I can read posts just fine. The fact remains that I don't play on xbox or PS. So I would not know how these launchers work, but he used games that are played on the PC as examples then wrongfully calls the launcher in game. Which it isn't. Also, the mundus stone removal was a bug that wasn't suppose to happen to every one. yet it did. So to see another post about mundus stone removals makes me thing "Crap, did they remove them again?"
