Out of the multitude of threads created in regards to pvp performance and pve as well I'd love to see one acknowledged by ZoS. Not moderated but acknowledged....even replied in. A simple "yes we hear you all and think that may or may not work or are trying this and it may be ready by this date" etc.....

    Just something.

I dont know about here but they did address it on the most recent ESO live.

Agreed, and if I recall correctly they said there were some incremental changes being made but also a major change that they weren't talking about until they had fully tested it - can anyone confirm if my memory is right on that? They are certainly taking it seriously, that's for sure.

They've been working on it for over a year. They've acknowledged poor performance and "we're working on it" and "we've implemented small changes to alleviate" and nothing has helped one bit.

Head to the Cyrodiil campaign performance thread and see the recent post Brian Wheeler laid out. It's a 'big' change.

    @FENGRUSH Buddy, be proactive.

Create a nice list of fixes you propose in detail. Drop it on the forums and let us have a look.

I am especially interested in seeing your fixes to balance and the X build issue.

    Please consider it.

From the time I've watched @FENGRUSH on stream, his YouTubes, and I'm a sub to his Twitch stream...he has brought his list of fixes up over and over. Over his 3 years in ESO, he started by posting feedback in a constructive manner and its been ignored. See AOE Caps.

After awhile of either being ignored or being criticized for being toxic(or whatever the flavor of the month term is for having a unpopular opinion), you can only continue posting so much on 'proposed improvements' before you throw in the towel.

I actually commend @FENGRUSH for hanging around this sinking PVP ship. He most likely found a home in his new MOBA given that's skill focused and designed to be PVP. It fits his play style and actually lowers his blood pressure i'd guess. lol

I support @FENGRUSHs stream, but I don't always agree with his rants that go on for too long. It's 'beat a dead horse' at times. But I totally understand why he does it and I understand what brings in viewers on Twitch. People watch streamers to see gameplay, but more importantly they watch for the personalities that align with their own opinions or personalities.

So if your looking for @FENGRUSH fixes:
    - Remove AOE Caps
    - Fix lag in Cyro by removing AOE Caps
    - Fix ball groups by removing AOE Caps
    - Balance classes by adding build options to Stamina based builds like Stam Sorc
    - Stop buffing Magika builds and ignoring Stamina build

Stepping out...thanks @FENGRUSH for giving a *** about this game. Props.

i dont think thats true. I think they are exhausting all avenues before deciding that all of their band-aid solutions wont work and having to back track on what they have done. its all speculative though.

Well, at least for the foreseeable future, yes AoE caps seem to likely be here no matter what. As far as Cyrodiil lag is concerned I don't think they really know how to fix it if I'm being honest. The incremental fixes so far don't seem to be helping much if at all. Maybe eventually they'll get lucky and something will stick. I think that is, in the end, the best we can all hope for.

I agree I think its a complex issue something they will probably be working on for years to come. I just hope a "fix" doesnt make it worse.

Fengrush's video was spot on.The bots were nasty. On occasion you can still see some bots in certain areas of the game. I do not see Cryo coming back to it's launch days. Follow the money.
The peeps who had to deal with the bot's and implement a fix probably did not see or know that the fix would have such an impact on Cyro.

This is an overall game issue. I am actually getting loading screens again and lag/latency in PVE areas. It seems the code is not stable. It has been patched so many times. I don't think the patient has any original parts left.

I agree with the not attacking people, debate the argument but attack not the person.

And to the mods: Where are the standards? Not burning standard or Shifting standard but your standards. You know the ones you used on me when i was a disruptive azz? If you applied those same standards to the disruptive azzes here then the forum would be a much nicer place.

Deleting posts is fine yep had a metric sh** ton of mine deleted. How about sending some final warnings like the one you sent me last year. You know the one that has this power phrase>>>>>> When your suspension is over, please keep in mind that any further violations of our Code of Conduct will lead to the permanent deactivation of your forum account.************

Send some of those out and bring the forums back in line. As a former Forum Rebel these new extremists are making me look like a *** good person. And that cannot be and must not be. I was the baseline jerk the absolute bottom of the barrel and a bane to your modding existence. How you managed to let the standard be even more debased leaves me baffled.I am not asking you to take my picture out from the bottom of the urinal. But to place more of others there. The disruptions are not accidental they are intended and that should bring more weight and force to the Adamantium Banhammer.

    PVP/PVE

Yes I used to be very loud about PVE RULES AND PVE DROOLS!!!!. But I have seen the damage that mentality causes by creating a divide and attacking people rather than ideas. For those who wish to continue the attack on other playstyles just remember when it comes time for your playstyle to be defended you will have lost the support of a portion of the user base.

And to dueling. What if I told you there was already a perfect area to Duel. One that is instanced and cannot be accessed by outsiders cannot be disrupted? One that you go to only once in the game for only one mission and a short one at that. What if I told you that area was devoid of all mats and inaccessible to botters? One that is already optimized for dueling in grounds layout.

I propose a simple and easy thing for ZOS. make "Duel Finder"
you can base it off of group finder. Pick your opponent by name and rank leave the class description blank that adds spice as you don't know what or who you will be facing.

You would probably laugh at me and tell me to go sleep in the toilet right?

Well that place is STIRK !!!

Yes the Island of Stirk a great place for dueling . Instanced, Isolated and not chance of interference.

I love ESO's PVE and eat it up, want more of it...
...I selfishly rejoice in Zeni's PVE focus as that's what'll drive me in ESO's Tamriel.

I feel for him and those who primarily enjoy the PVP game...
...I can empathize and would feel devastated if, for example, Zeni were to focus mostly on PVP.

As someone who does enjoy both, wish both were amazing.

The longer time goes by since the creation of any rants people record about ESO, the more relevant they seem.

Many issues from the very launch of the game are still issues and only get worse every patch! Once in awhile people necro threads from 2014 and they get heavily commented on due to them still being so relevant.

On the flip side we have companies here where I live who get their WHOLE MANAGEMENT out into the open and shoot a video of a public apology for having to raise the prices of their ice cream by 10 frigging cents. Everyone including their CEO stood in formation and bowed in unison (for those unfamiliar, this is a humbling apology done in response to something shameful) to the camera. And these guys are one of the MOST Popular ice cream companies in Japan. They have no reason to give a damn. But how they carry themselves is indication of why they are number #1 and will be #1 for a long time to come.

    http://www.straitstimes.com/asia/japan-dessert-firm-akagi-nyugyo-offers-apology-for-12-cent-ice-cream-price-hike

If your interested the article and video link is there. For those of you who can't read japanese, the 2 japanese sentences translate to "we held on for 25 years, but prices have gone up from 60-70 yen".

All we get from ZOS for years of broken gameplay and bugs is not even a full blown proper 'we'r sorry'. Just some lame jokes and hahahahah sooon comments or "we'r looking into it". Everytime I watch an episode of ESO live and I watch them giggling away like 5 year old school kids brings a certain rage into my heart. Hundreds of incessant crashing complaints, hundreds of bugs that have been in game for years..... Come on guys.

I look at ZOS and then the company in the video.... Customer service and satisfaction has really gone to *** nowadays....

In a recent post by Brian Wheeler on lag he said this:-

"There haven't been discussions about the anti-bot/hack code yet as we continue to have our engineers bang on the combat code."

but don't tell @FENGRUSH or we'll get another 3 hour rant video.

We appreciate how constructive this discussion has been. Whether discussing the game or debating the points of others, the feedback has been detailed and respectful. We recognize that there are some strong opinions about several of these issues, and a lot of frustration around others.

We've removed a small number of posts. Several were discussing earlier moderation in the thread, and while not terribly problematic they were still off topic. A few more recent posts were removed for being unconstructive, or mildly inflammatory. Overall the discussion is going quite well, however, and we thank everyone for keeping this civil and constructive.

Except when you have video footage to show it.

    <footage>

All clips with aoe spamming and effects out the wazzoo.

The goold old days are not just a rose tinted nostalgia glasses effect, this type of gameplay is 100% no longer possible without major fps drops or a large ping rise, and I'm not talking about balance issues here, just pure game performance.

And if you watch these videos from the oldest to newest, you'll notice how performance decreases, with fewer and fewer people on screen. Illuminati confirmed? Or is Fengrush actually 100% right when he says the game has been getting worse and worse? I'll let you pick

Every time I hear them say a big cause of lag is people running around in maxed gear with all the passives and everything unlocked, I just keep thinking back to times like these.

I would dare say there were way more people in Cyrodiil back then, and they too were max level with all the passives and good gear. And look at that smooth gameplay.

Nowadays I can enter Trueflame (the only campaign that has any serious action the entire day at all) and go to a keep fight and my ping instantly jumps up to 600+, my game turns into a slideshow and abilities fail to fire at all. Quite the feat considering population caps are now way lower than they were before.

They screwed something up in the back-end and when they talk about incremental fixes to performance all I'm hearing is them trying to fix a shattered foundation with duct tape. I wish they'd just come out and say exactly what's going on, clear the air and tell us exactly where we stand, because the current situation is just surreal. Cyrodiil is literally broken right now. It's either a lagfest or a buff campaign with very little action going on at all.

I think that everyone has to realize that we need to work with the current code set and modify it going forward.

The 'bot' code covers a wide array of stuff that in general is slowing down the servers. For example, if you manage to bounce yourself by jumping downhill you can get moving really fast. Do this enough and the server rubber bands you back. That is server based checks on your location over time. Ditto with rubber banding in vMSA arena 3. Long range mob pulls cause rubber banding.

From this we can infer that the server is storing our position for a certain amount of time and checking our current location against that history to see if we are traveling to fast. If so... rubber band!

Anyone remember the guild that tested lag by dropping meteors? Hitting a group of people with meteor lagged the server. Presumably because being knocked up involved some server side physics calculations, and that may involve anti-bot considerations.

But aside from that, I wonder just how hard the "proc" calculation system is on the server. Every time a nightblade with the right passive uses a damage or healing ability that crits, they proc a buff for thier entire group. Not to single out NBs, everyone wearing certain sets or with certain passives has procs that eat up CPU cycles because they have to be checked every time a conditional situation happens.

These conditions are as common as getting hit, getting damaged, critting, hitting, casting, healing, etc, etc, etc.

I'm all for reducing the complexity of the proc and combat system, if it gets us better performance.
