Was expecting to disagree more with Fengrush, but I have to agree once again with most of what he said.
I really like the last 3 DLCs they put out (yes, even IC). We have seen more new content added to the game in the last 9 months than the entirety before (and what was added then was sadly a failure, aka Craglorn). I enjoy the new content more than a lot of what Bethesda has put out in recent years. But it seems everything else has been sacrificed for this - bug fixes, balance, performance, pvp systems, and so on and so on.

My only hope is that once vet rank removal is done with DB, they put the freed up resources to good use in those areas. We can make suggestions how to fix the game for days on end, but unless there is the will and the resources for them to actually do it, it's all fruitless.
Alandrol Sul: He's making another Numidium?!?
Vivec: Worse, buddy. They're buying it.

    nah not really...

Negligence, ignoring main performance issues, ignoring some broken spells and skills since release, not implementing promised content, not scaling the old trials to v16, extremely bad netcode along with horrible decisions will be the end of ESO ...and not streamers who continue to make ESO related videos to earn money, despite having quit the game.

Personally I'm a pve'er, I prefer to pve 99% of my time in ESO. The 1% I play pvp in, I struggle at enjoying because of the miserable lag and performance issues that are there. Mind you, this game was promoted as a pvp game, and heavily adverticed epic large scale AvAvA pvp battles...

Ruin the game is a bit strong, but it did bring a subset of very uninformed players to the forums. One of the stupider things console whining has resulted in was the removal of free skill respecs in major updates. After the first one of those after console launch, the forums were flooded with angry confused console players who complained that now they didn't know where to put their skill points back to because they couldn't remember where they had been in the first place. As a result, we no longer have free skill point respecs anymore. Thanks consoles!

The could have just started giving us respec scrolls with each 'balace' patch, but that would have made too much damn sense.
'Okay, the question is...(laughter)...the question is, we have Vicious Death sets with Prox Det that are doing double damage from last patch -- they're doing double damage -- and the CP system scales them even more. That was when half the PvP population quit after patch 1.2 introduced 2 solid weeks of unaddressed memory leak which literally caused your FPS to drop permanently to 2-5 whenever you saw another player in Cyrodiil.

    Well said @Fengrush

The netcode is not only ruined

Sage, Konk, and Maria and the folks who could fix it, are gone...the regular updates were stopped when those 3 left...simply put the people who could fix the game are no longer there...

O please. Paul sage couldn't fix it even when he was here. Do you forget that he was the one that told everyone to spread out and find other things to do in cyrodil? And Maria, she blatantly lied to everyone before the cp system went online when she said yes! Keep earning XP we are tracking the amount of cps everyone can earn. Only to find out they installed a hard cap of 70 cps for v16 toons and anyone who completed cadwells was screwed out of millions of XP and cps? And who is konk? Never heard anything from him when he was here.

Ok so to recap. Sage was the guy who told us to do other things in cyrodil. Maria was the one that lied. Konk came up with a Brain dead idea that had no plans to ever be implemented. Yeah these guys were real winners and I have complete confidence that they could fix the code. Good effin riddance and now they are blizzards problem...

Can someone explain why they can't make 100v100v100 happen again?

Try fighting a 10v10v10 with no lag+fluid gameplay..... see the point? ZOS gave up on PvP. Changes can probably be made to revert aspects of the anti-bot code and changes which killed Cyrodiil performance but it'll never happen. They already drove off the majority of their playerbase with terrible decisions.

Advertise PvP as a main selling point for your game, then utterly neglect it/make it worse for two years and counting. ZOS logic ftw.

At the start of the video he makes it clear that if he had been in their shoes he would have done the same thing.

Life is full of judgment calls that we just need to live with. I have never played PVP in this format of game prior to ESO. I tried it and loved it, I do not claim to be "pro" but I can hold my own the majority of the time and I miss the massive charges of the "good old days"

This frustrates me as it is a vicious circle as I see it (fitting giving the ESO logo). Transparency is what people that follow the preaching of Fengrush would benefit from however that same transparency may be the final nail in the coffin of that same group of people.

Priorities for a business are what they are, you can start pulling out all the expected cliches at this point and you can even get caught up in the perceived lack of justice around it all but it does not change a thing. Big Data will drive priorities and that will be a closely guarded ZOS secret.

I remain hopeful that a silver bullet will arrive, in the meantime I enjoy the PVE side so much that the PVP issues are a mild irritation for myself, for others it is a full blown case of herpes and I empathize with those inflicted.

@rfennell_ESO so there is no proof of the change?

I've looked for about an hour now and can't find anything...

I'm guessing the proof you are looking for will entirely entail circular logic or straight up conjecture.

    Which isn't remotely "proof".

watch this years early eso live vids - in the one where they described the the way they changed the server handling of CP buffs they stated in a giddy way what they did towards the netcode within the lightning patch.
beside that they never announced changes in regard of the netcode/server handling of issues before - the same way they never announced a root/silence added to charge abilities before they admit to change it back to a 60% snare... so from your perspective the rootsnare has never happened...

That being said I am not a pc or beta player and I would like to disagree with the pvp not being on a scale as large as it used to be part of your video. Skull of corruption ps4 NA has, for the last month or two, been a lagless warzone with 30-75 people per faction sieging and defending up to three keeps at a time all the time. My guild has worn "daggerfall elite" out by simply being better players but it has potential to become a focus of development yet. I usually forget to record the really epic *** because it lasts for two hours no breaks and because I'm simply zoned into the game, but the odd time I remember to catch a small fight. The odd time I'll catch a few spikes of lag but for the most part pvp has become serious on ps4. That's certainly the case. However, most weren't complaining about free respecs in principle, they were complaining about such respecs being forced on first login after the update. It's probably mainly PC players who have the problem of returning to the game after an absence in order to check out the changes only to find there's a forced respec before they can do anything and for which they are totally unprepared because of their absence. All most critics of the original respec system asked for was for the free respec to be covered by a token in the mail or some other means of allowing the player to choose whether and when to run the respec, bearing in mind also that not everyone sees a need to respec anyway while others may have a significant number of characters to consider.

Then again, other critics were asking for the respec to be handled by e.g. a week long discount or waiver on the cost of the respec shrines, so they could mess around with different builds in their own time. I don't recall very many arguing that there shouldn't be any free respecs at all in principle, although some may have contested the issue of whether a particular update merited one.

These are all perfectly reasonable concerns, and I'm glad that ZOS are working on changing from a forced respec system to some form of optional one. There will still be free respecs, they'll simply be implemented in a more player-friendly way.

Not sure how you figure that was 75 enemies. I counted a full raid plus a few more at most.

Either way, what you will notice in this video is that group is not balling up and spamming tonnes of AoE skills (it's a typical disorganized pug zerg) and so you will not see much lag.

Also, I experience these kinds of lag free sieges everyday in Cyrodiil. It really is about playstyles of more organized groups that bring the server to it's knees.

I prefer spending my gold on respecs and trying things for myself however @FENGRUSH I respect your delivery of information. If you'd like to get in a good run and partake in some 2-8 hour siege wars I invite you to come join SVER True Bloods. I promise an experience you may not expect with this guild and for some background check please Google us. You won't be let down.

This video had over 50 individual daggerfall attacking us with 25-30 reinforcements that showed up and it was pretty smooth. I have other videos if greater fights but I haven't had the time to upload. Enjoy

There's a distance limit to which you can no longer see alliance icons above players. I see a lot more than the icons running around if you look closely. Not to mention you can always assume there are at least 10 invisible nightblades that come with every zerg.

And spamming aoe does nothing to large groups. The more people the more the aoe dmg divides so by not spamming aoe attacks and how they try and focus certain members of my guild I can tell you It was not a pug group. There are 4-5 daggerfall guilds in this campaign who we fight constantly and this was a combination of two. At the same time they had another raid group attacking another keep and almost took it until we rode there and pushed them back.

Are you by chance a victim in this clip?

Maybe they should just do away with PvP and make ESO a PvE only game.

CU beta is coming out really really soon ( not confirmed date: 4/8 ). I guess in a year from now I can go over to their forurms and say:

Listen to me :) fix your bugs! I have been a backer since Alpha!

But really, I don't think I need to watch Fengrush's video. I think I already know what he said:

F this, F that, remove AOE caps. I have been playing since Beta and you should listen to me .

    Am I right? :)
