► Young Caine, when I was a boy, I fell into a hole in the ground and I was broken and could not climb out. I might have died there but a stranger came along and saved me. He said it was his obligation. That for help he had once received, he must in return help ten others each of whom would then help ten others so that good deeds would spread out like the ripples from a pebble in a pond. I was one of his ten and you became one of mine. And now I pass this obligation on to you. -Master Po

Or you get players that have already done the dungeon. They forget that not everybody has had the pleasure themselves of doing it, and regardless, expect the mission to be blazed through like Flash on fire. So they run ahead of everyone, expecting you to keep up.

They die one time and rage quit because in their gaming world, their above reproach when it comes to game play. It's everybody's fault except theirs.

Or they want to act like you dying is a lack of skill on your part, because when they did it for the first time on veteran, it went without a hitch. Yeah, right!

Or they want to boss everyone around as though no one is on their level. Yet in my experience, too many higher level (v14 and up) die before I do at v7. That's pathetic.

    This happened to me today...
Was in Fungal Grotto, the veteran daily pledge.
After kicking one dd with PvP gear and mindset (grouping tool) and replacing him with another close combat PvP wannabe (again grouping tool), THIS happened:
    drfhxk.png
    nzk8xt.png
From a guy that stands in stupid while dealing close combat damage to Vila Theran comes the brilliant "Noob tank, why don't you kite the boss?" (not in those words ofc, he was illiterate).
I cannot express in words how pissed I was.

Not using grouping tools. Ever again.

Am so glad they will introduce Monster sets in PvP vendors, hope those kind of people never again go to real dungeons.

Again today doing Gold Pledge, Healer just leaves just over half way through Dungeon leaving 3 of us to try and finish. we get through the next 2 mini-bosses, but cannot beat the end boss.

The healer did not drop off line just left group and teleported out, could tell they were still on line as they were available in chat.

Added the person to my ignore list.

This is what make MMO games frustrating.

At least you are not "the worst tank ever" because the PVP dps guy died on Praxin's rings.

The only thing I don't like in dungeon groups is impatient players who just want to speed run the place and get it over with as quickly as possible. Its supposed to be a game; you're supposed to be having fun. Stop and smell the roses occassionally - eso is not a job. For some players the tedious grind is all they see.

These people may have done the dungeon lots of times before and might be bored with the content by then, but that doesn't mean that they can't have patience for other people who maybe haven't farmed the game as intensively as they have and might actually want to experience the story.

It's easiest to blame the tank or the healer instead of the "DPS" who isn't doing any damage because if you don't have a particular role build, you call yourself DPS. Unless you want to queue up faster, in which case you say you can tank. :s

Being a good tank pretty much requires a dedicated build, which produces a playstyle completely unrewarding in the current game, and one difficult to pull off while still leveling -- especially for a first toon. You have to have a streak of masochism to bother.

If you are going with a PUG for a pledge assume that the people will try to do a speed run. They want the freaking KEY . They want to get their daily chores done... If you mention that you never done that dungeon a lot of people will accept to slow down a bit , explain boss mechanics etc. I have done that plenty of times. Some people may not and just kick you but that is the game and you can just get another group. It is on you to ask for people to slow down otherwise expect people to just zip trough it.

You misunderstand me. I understand how it works and I know why people are how they are - I've played plenty of other MMOs before this one. What I'm saying is that I don't understand or appreciate the general mentality of those players who find it too 'out of their way' to be patient and considerate to other players. The game is not life or death - its just a game. They need to relax. I've done plenty of dungeons before where I've had to wait for other players before moving forward and it doesn't send me into a impudent rage.

The onus is just as much on the people wanting a speed run to say so as it is on those who want to slow down a bit. All it takes is a quick "Speed run ok with everyone?" at the start - easy.

Personally I don't use the group finder, but instead always try to find like-minded players in chat or guild to team up with so that we can agree the pace before hand.

Did you know the tank can kite the boss and force her to run out of the black circles making melee damage viable?

I'm one of those people who blitz through pledges. In part because I do four pledges a day, and in part because I've done them all so many times that there are no roses left to smell. But... um, have you tried to say something like "This is my first time here, so I'm also doing the dungeon quest."? Because I--and everyone I know--would slow down and wait for you, if we knew. You gotta communicate stuff like that.

Did you know the tank can kite the boss and force her to run out of the black circles making melee damage viable?

That's how you turn an easy battle into a complicated wipefest. First, you need to get a lot of distance in order to force her to move. Second, it'll just make the circles proliferate over a wider area. Third, it's harder for the healer to heal the group through the beam phase if people split up like that (esp. for non-Templars, but even for Templars, BoL is expensive, so it's better to be Springs-spamming, which you can't do if you have one DPS at melee range, tank at kite range, and everyone else at an intermediate range). If a DPS has zero ability to do ranged damage, then that DPS build has serious problems.

Yes, if I'm new to a game and I'm doing a dungeon for the first time and end up with a group that wants to speed-run (although I'm usually more careful about picking my groups) then I will always say something - although sometimes this is received with angry words and occasionally being booted from the group. Considerate people like you who would slow down and wait for someone are not the problem. But there are those who get angry at the drop of a hat and they give MMOs a bad name.

Again, I know how it all works - I'm just questioning the "impatient angry player" mentality. Personally I can't imagine ever reacting that way over what is basically just a game.
