1. Stops after every boss so they can stare at their loot for a few minutes..

2. Stops after every boss to change skills

3. Gets teleported to dungeon and says how they need to go repair there gear and respec some skill points..
(Why enter group finder que if you are not ready to even begin the dungeon?)

4. Dies and blames the healer even though they were standing still in red circles thinking they are invincible.

    1) Bag is probably full, so they're looking at what they can delete at each major loot point. Why is the bag full? Because the group finder's idiotic auto-port will port you in even if you're not ready. We had a run where our group finished the vet pledge, and before starting nonvet, someone dropped out. Being nonvet, the content is so easy that we decided to just used the Group Finder to fill the missing role. Role was quickly filled, but the damn auto-port meant that most of us were still in the middle of clearing bags from the vet run when the damn thing kidnapped us into the nonvet dungeon.

    2) Nothing wrong with that. Why have an AoE on your bar in single-target boss fights? Why have a bar geared for melee if you're facing a boss that really calls for ranged engagement? I have Dressing Room to make these changes easy, but there's nothing wrong with optimizing your loadout for each fight. My tank uses four different loadouts for vWGT, for example: my general purpose one, one for the three elite guards, my DPS gear/bars for the Inhibitor, and another one for Kena.

    3) Because the group finder's idiotic auto-port will port you in even if you're not ready. (See point #1.) If my tank queues, I'm usually in the dungeon within a minute of queuing, so I need to be ready. If I'm queuing as DPS, it could take an hour before I get a group--if I get a group. I'm not going to sit around twiddling my fingers for an hour.

    4) Before Group Finder worked, this is what would sometimes happen if you pick someone up from zone.

None of this is the Group Finder's fault. Well, except for the stupid auto-port that I hate with a passion. And, yes, you do get bad groups with Group Finder. Just as you would get bad groups from random zone pickups. But, more often than not, I've gotten good groups, and even some very good groups. Stop generalizing.

I thought this would be about the judgmental players that drop people instantly, just because they happen to not be max level, or they don't run "the right skills" (read FOTM), even though you actually do know your stuff and they would find that out if they gave you the chance to run the dungeon.

    5. The type of player, who says sorry to the new member of the group, like "sry mate, but I'd like to ask you to leave the party, because we would like to group up with our guildmates, from another factions, and this is now impossible without the groupfinder".

Erm, that's me. I'm quite frustrated with this "new" grouping tool. It would be a great thing if we could manually add party-members from other factions, or at least the group finder tool should prioritize from the friendlist and guildroster.

I have had only good experiences but realise there might be one thing that would be frustrating people. First the good.

The other day I joined a group and my green V16 needed to do the quest. All others were V16 and it was CoH. I asked to do the quest and all said fine and we did the dungeon. I got all 4 achievements - complete dungeon, hard mode, no death, speed run. So I lucked out and obviously was with a super hot group who were one short, but because of that I thought it was great they didn't kick me when I wanted to do the quest because they could have thought it was someone who didn't know the dungeon.

Now here is the part that I think might frustrate people:
We use the group finder tool to get our pre made groups around two annoying things in the game:
    1) get our toons from different factions into the same group.
    2) get non v16 toons buffed so they can group with our other V16 toons and do the dungeon at v16 level.

In both of these cases what we do is we Co ordinate our search. E.G. if we have 3 AD toons and 1 EP toon we group the 3 AD conventionally and we then start search and so does the guy with the EP toon. 9 times out of 10 this gets us grouped correctly but every now and again there is another player group searching that joins before our friend can so we have to kick that person so our friend can get in the group. This is especially true when grouping for gold pledge dungeon as many people want to do it.

I can only imagine this upsets that guy and he thinks we kicked him cos he is not V16 or some other reason and we feel bad because this is the only way we can group how we want to. I bet a lot of people are using the grouping tool in this way.

If ZOS could let us group easily across factions by direct invitation I bet that it would reduce the frustrations of some people using the grouping tool.

As I said in the beginning I think it is a great tool and I have not had an experience that was worse than using zone chat to find a group so I am all for this group tool. Just let us direct invite across factions and buff lower players for direct invite to make the group finder only be used for what it was intended initially and it will be all good

Worst Group finder Tank I got was a Tank that just knew how to hold up a shield. That guy was just standing around (never mind the red circles.) I just had to heal by wasting my whole Magicka pool... We somehow managed to get the gold key and the speed run in the Banishing cells.

I must be lucky because my experience of the grouping tool and the people it picks have been mostly good and I've very rarely confronted the types OP listed above.

The only type of players that gives me grief, are the afk ones. The grouping tool automatically teleports them into the dungeon but their characters are just standing there without responding to anything. We have given them several minutes before kicking just to exclude the possibility of crashes or lags. Tanks don't grow in trees these days, so if the afk player is a tank, it really frustrates.
That's what a dose of reality does for you. Never touch the stuff myself.

    Wow.
So what you are saying is you don't want new people (trying to learn the dungeons by experience) from using the group finder ?
I am more concerned about players like you than the players you describe to be frank.
You are the kind of players that needs kicking form the game.

How exactly do you expect new players to "git gud" without practice ?
How exactly do you expect them to practice GROUP content without GROUPing ?

The two biggest complaints against the LFG tool:

    1. Auto-teleport

    2. Only way to group with cross-faction friends

I just cannot fathom what was going on in the meeting where they decided it would be awesome to kidnap people and force them into a dungeon against their will.

Dev 1: the group is formed, what happens next?

Voice of reason: Nothing? Then they enter the dungeon when ready.

Dev 2: What if we yank everyone from whatever they're doing after 60s and force them into the dungeon?

Dev 3: GREAT IDEA! And if they try escaping, we will just yank them back in! No escape!

Voice of Reason: But that would be so inconvenient, if they're ready to play they will port on their own - why do we have to force them?

Dev 1: Someone might be AFK or trolling! Lets yank them.

Voice of reason: If they are AFK or trolling, auto-transport won't fix that will it - they will just be AFK or troll in the dungeon now.

Dev 1 & 2: Shut up! Kidnapping it is!

Dev 2: Also lets make it so you can't do vet dungeons if you queued for normal and have to queue again.

Dev 1: Yes! Lot's of people like doing both types of pledges if they get a good group so we should force them to disband and then play roulette until they get into a group again!

    Voice of reason: But...why?

Dev 1: Some one might try to force a player into doing a dungeon they didn't select and that would be terrible!

Voice of reason: But.. that player could leave the group if they didn't want to do a different dungeon...

Dev 2: No! Let's make it so players have to wait 10-30 minutes to be randomly grouped with people they want to do dungeons with!

    Dev 1: Players love RNG!

Voice of Reason: Actually, I read this complaint on the forum about how one player did Veteran Spindleclutch 150 times for the helm. Some say he's still trying...

Dev 2: What a blast! More RNG!

The ability to group cross faction couldn't be implemented in time for this patch but we'll be getting in the next major update. Since this is a matter of resources rather than insight, I'm willing to give it a pass even though it surely is a cause of grief and annoyance to people on both sides- those getting kicked to make room for friends, and those who can't get their friends in their group despite trying over and over.

All other complaints are variations of:

"Other players are dumb/stupid/unskilled and ruined my night."

Well, if you were as pro as you think you are, you would have more friends and not need to search for pugs in the first place. Maybe the reason you don't have enough friends to get your pledges done is because you're too unpleasant to play with.

I've sworn off the group finder now unless its to pick up guildies from other alliances.

Pugs are just useless its an utter headache to run with them.

For example, group got a pug tank for COA. Got to the last boss, I replaced heals as they had to leave. This tank was V4 in a V16 scale. Battle lvl my ass. The guy never listened to anything I was saying, spent all my time healing his bloody ass cause he refused to break cc or do what I was telling him to.

Pug groups via the finder are more trouble then their worth imo.

This was just one example of the many many bad experiences I've had with group finger puggies. Battle lvl means ***. There needs to be a lvl option so you can select the lvl/rank you want.

Group finder is an absolute gem!

It grouped me with this one guy tonight who would cast healing ward and run into a large trash mob and spam executioner on single mob. Or open up on a boss with multiple jesus beam casts. Yes... multiple casts...of the second execute he had slotted. I like to think he was trolling. Im confident he wasnt.

Either way most vet dungeons are easy and we carried him through. And he provided more entertainment than the content itself. many lols were had.

The autoport is horrendous. but ive had plenty of success cross faction grouping with friends and filling vet pledges and farms using it so meh. If you arent willing to accept the fact that grouping with randoms will sometimes hook u with a below average or simply terrible player, or if you arent skilled enough yourself to assist a below par individual through some vet dungeon maybe build your friends list or get some new guilds.

IMHO it serves a purpose and ive been using it extensively recently helm farming cause i often cbf advertising.

    5. People with attention disorder, unable to wait 4 seconds while you're changing a skill or weapon. Different bosses might require different abilities slotted, especially if you're healing. That's why most builds have a so called "flex slot".

Other than that, I still think group finder works at least half the time. It's not horrible. Just don't expect the A-Team no death speed runs.

What would help loads is new people, actually informing about it. It's okay not knowing exactly what to do, but please say something. It's okay doing the quest, but again say you're doing it or people will run ahead. Getting someone killed, when failing a mechanic or being locked out(because your chatting to the npc), is worse than being the new guy.

People joining as dps should be using actual dps builds. Skip one-of-a-kind hybrid solo builds and everyone's pug/group finder experience will be much more enjoyable.

I've had very good experiences with the group finder. We've had to kick a couple of people because they have obviously started the finder and gone afk. If the rest of the group completes all the trash before the first boss and you've not moved then we've waited long enough. Just don't run the tool unless your ready to go.
