    LOL

The first thing that came to mind when I read the thread title is the "People of Walmart" videos!

I do have to say the LFG tool works a little bit better than before, but some of the people you get in your group is just worse than WoW's LFG pugs.... at least in that game you get a debuff for leaving the group too soon. Not With ESO, don't like the levels when you travel... just leave and requeue.

I thought this would be about the judgmental players that drop people instantly, just because they happen to not be max level, or they don't run "the right skills" (read FOTM), even though you actually do know your stuff and they would find that out if they gave you the chance to run the dungeon.

Well, there's a huge difference between being new and not having top-notch gear and being new, not having top notch gear and being ignorant. And most of people who use random special snowflake skills and cannot fulfill their role, are really ignorant. They're playing with real people, not just some npcs.
Honestly, I havent seen good players being hostile to a newbie who tries to play like a team player. But in random groups I've seen some healers who tried to heal on a bow builds and dds who dont have any aoe skills. And the most important part that those people didnt care about their team at all. All they were thinking about was their uniqueness and their quest/pledge.
That being said, I really dislike pseudo-elitists who judge people before they ever see them in action. Like, you know "oh you cannot tank because you're not a dk" (seriously, Ive been kicked from groups because f it more than once) or "What, you dont know the name of that Deltia's build? What a noob, go L2P" (also true story).

I've only used the new LFG tool a couple times and it hasn't been quite as bad for me as some in this thread. In fact, one of those times I queued for vet Banished Cells, got a full group of V16s and proceeded to get the speed run achievement.

So it's not always bad

As a DPS sorcerer I mainly choose dps for dungeons because my heals are not sufficient yet for a 4 player dungeon, yet choosing DPS for a dungeon can give you an hour wait time during busy hours(PC NA). You can't expect me to be ready (skills/gear/food/etc.) every minute for this hour wait time.

The other day had a group (made by Grouping tool) for Vaults of Madness. Dungeon level was Veteran, enemies v16.
    Members were:
    V2 DPS
    V3 DPS
    V4 Tank
    V16 Healer who was leader.
Just under half way through the V16 leader says "Good luck... I'm Out" and left. Those of us left try and finish.

Long story short kept getting our butts kicked, and could not complete.

I hope that this is not a new trend.

These people are the worst and go straight on my ignore list. It's one thing if the group decides to disband, or maybe someone leaves because their cat is on fire, but the people who just up and bail in the middle of a dungeon are lame.

    3) Because the group finder's idiotic auto-port will port you in even if you're not ready.

I played Defiance for a while and they had a good way to handle this. You queued up, then went about your business. When your group formed you got about a minute of notice during which you could opt out. If you opted out it grabbed the next player in line to replace you.

The down side was that if you were a jerk about it you could leave the rest of the group waiting that full minute while you decide if you will join them or not.

I'm not sure what would work better than that. Anyone know of a better scheme?

And no, I'm not saying Defiance was great; it had lots of issues.

That's a plus. I don't want my tank to "tank" the Engine Guardian or meeleing Fungals last boss.

I agree to an extend. People should be prepared and ready to go, but you can only plan so much.

That's definetly not grouping tool related. I often get those, mostly stamblades or magsorcs, from zone chat.
A few days ago a V16 mag sorc from zone filled the last spot in my gold Wayrest Group. He ran in when healer (me) was still in loading screen, died every second group (in f**ing wayrest :P) and still got the guts to post his FTC damage log every now end then.

Imo grouping tool was one of the best things that could happen to ESO. If they properly adjust the cross alliance grouping, it's a gift.

Or at least do what you gotta do with the fact in mind that you are going to be ported at any time... Only use the group finder if 1. All armor/weapons ready to go 2. You're lucky the group finder works at all for you. I still sit in that thing for hours trying to find a group, then get an incomplete group, only to have to disband since the stubborn thing cowardly refuses to find us another player.

I run a tank and only ever use the LFG tool. I'm not great by any means, and I'll gladly taker some pro-tips from people that know what they're doing.

I just like to use my super-short queue time to give some DPS a chance to run the dungeons.

IDGAF how long it takes other people to get ready, or if they suck or whatever. I'm just happy to be playing, and sometimes a sup-optimal group pushes me to play better and the final success is just that much sweeter at the end. Of course, speed runs are good too, but I'm cool with either.

If your not ready to do the dungeon then DONT QUE UP! if you plan to do something else then LEAVE THE QUE. Or at least do what you gotta do with the fact in mind that you are going to be ported at any time... Only use the group finder if 1. All armor/weapons ready to go 2. Food/potions/soul gems ready to go 3. Inventory cleaned up, ready to go 4. When you, yourself are ready to go.

Leaving the queue and re-entering is not a solution. You lose your spot, and your hour-long wait is now indefinite.

No, the proper solution is to give people time. Know that the other people in the queue may have been in the queue for a very long time. They might be AFK, alt-tabbed out, or they might've been busy during the wait. People should just be considerate and give the other group members time once the group forms. To expect everyone to be there and ready within a minute of the group forming is simply unrealistic, and the Group Finder's auto-port mechanics are terribly flawed as a result.

What the group finder should do is give people a longer window. Don't auto-port without the person's consent; if the person doesn't acknowledge within, say, 8 minutes, just replace him with the next person in the group finder queue; if someone is AFK, auto-porting them in won't magically summon them back.

BTW, I used the Group Finder for today's pledge on my VR16 DPS, and three of us were in the dungeon immediately (I accepted the auto-port as soon as the group formed), while the 4th (VR12 DPS) had not yet arrived. Before I even had a chance to type, "Let's wait for the fourth to port in," the other two (a Lv 17 "tank" with no taunt and a Lv 23 healer) decided to rush in, and nearly wiping out on the trash pull before I could save them. Despite that, they still pressed forward (I was tempted to hang back and just let them wipe instead). Fortunately, the fourth did join us in time for first pledge boss. Don't be that guy that rushes in with zero consideration for the others.

I used group finder a bit last nite. It was great to group up quick for dailies. Better than hanging around my guild trying to get people to do it. Communication was a big problem. 4 different groups could not beat first boss on WGT.
Then I tried blessed crucible and got an awesome group. We burned through it in 10 minutes. Much more fun!

Wow, I never have any of these problems. If a player doesn't know the dungeon, I coach him; if a player needs to clear his inventory, I let him.

Most of the people I've grouped with are lower level vets who haven't yet gotten to cap and honestly they make a lot of fun because they've never done it before.
