DPS role is to burn whilst trying to avoid as much dmg as possible.
Healing is to heal, and IMO to give the DPS health pool high so they can concentrate on dmg, so they not distracted from doing damage, the more they can not worry about dodging, self healing etc they more they can put into burning down.
We all need to learn our roles better as well as knowing the fights.
Frustrates me is when i do more damage as a healer than one of the DPS, this shouldnt happen but i happily contribute to damage, sometimes doing damage is a way for party members to avoid damage.

The most irritating things are as follows, in order.
- Stamina Templars who think they they should use Repentance over you even though you know when to use it to benefit the whole group.

This SO DAMN MUCH.
Look. I have this. If you want to heal, then heal.
Otherwise, don't.
The REST was also very true - but GD it if I am not Over people using repentance and SOME even wreck their DPS doing it in the MIDDLE of a fight where *There are no [snip] dead bodies!!!!*
Pls know and perform your role.
Not your class. Your role.
Thanks!
I have to disagree with this. Sure, healing should always come first, but there's no point in spamming breath of life when everyone is at full health. I personally would feel bad, if I would just stand there doing heavy attacks while my group mates use spell power potions on cooldown to kill the boss fast enough. What really annoys me is the players who try fulfill 2 roles. Practically this is always the healers. Healers are there to heal, not dps. Do your job. I *hate* to see beams n sh*t coming out from healer.
My motto is this:
Always focus on your own role 100%. Then, if the party performs badly, you get say that it was other peoples fault, because you did your own job. Being a jack of all trades and master of none is burden to the group.

To be fair shards are also your main AoE DPS and a substitute if you don't have proximity detonation for single targetI hate people who think it's my job to be their apparent one and only source of stamina. Everytime I hear "Shards, shards, shards!" I want to cringe. I'll slot Repentance, sure, but there's other skills I can take which are good... and don't rely on me being your stamina pool since some people have the regen of a baked potato. </rant>
it's because majority of the time you are over healing, there is a lot of the times you don't need to heal and you stand there doing nothing pretty much so why not add some damage to the group, but then again that's my whole playstyle and what I've worked around doing for over a year adding DPS to groups while healing, so I'm fairly used to it compared to others I supposeTwo things: Ranged dps who is out of aoe heals and tunnel vision dps who ignore boss mechanics for gold key. (Nuking Nerien'eth for example)
BUT

I wrote a pretty hefty guide for templar dps, if there are more than 2-3 targets shards will do a lot more dps than sweeps because of sweeps damage only nearest target takes the most damage, that changes too much in big trash packs
"Sweet, you'll heal? Oh. You're not a Templar. Sorry dude. We need shards. And without BoL you're useless. Reroll Temp and come talk to me in a few weeks."

Besides radiant oppression (or any other dawns wrath skill) increases the spell damage of all group members by 5%, so most good magicka dds will probably ask for you using one of these skills.

what a bunch of whiners.
Healers are so overpowered in this game and not just templars but all the classes, i've never seen an mmo where the healers can repeatedly heal the party back to full over and over and over again and never run out of resources.
From all the comments above obviously if your team are ignoring mechanics or "trying" to die then thats not on you/healer but all the others comments about how "it's hard" or "im trying to support" or "im also doing dps" , dudes why? check your gear or your build sounds like a l2p issue.

DK has to be worst class right now.
I have seen some stamplars put out massive damage.
squishy nightblades.
people who refuse to join group chat (ps4) you need to at least listen for bosses
I cant stand getting rolled over by some stupid warlock in pvp. just why cant templars win anything in pvp.
templars need a dps buff and maybe a heal nerf to balance.
self sustain people! me doing no dps because i have to spam BOL the whole raid is boring AF.
GET VIGOR YOU NIGHTBLADES
let me start off by saying I've had some very good dragonknight DPSers before. it's entirely possible.
and let me end by saying that nightblades have quite a bit of self-sustaining capability without the need for Vigor.
The things that annoys me the most as healer is also the things that annoys me the most as tank.
1. Most frustrating is players with low dps.
I don't mind this if they are low cp, as having 25% extra damage through cp is a huge part of someones dps abilities.
But the best advice I ever received while playing ESO was that the dps' job is to dps while obeying the healer. That may hurt a lot of egos, but in my case I always had a bad case of tunnel vision while dpsing.
