✭I despise people who knowingly and willingly wear gear that makes them perform bad in their role, and as such pull down their group making it significantly harder for the people they're grouping with, all for THEIR own PERSONAL fun.
You don't get to have fun on the expense of other people. Do that *** with your friends, not with pugs.
That's all I have to say on the matter.
Some of the current builds cost quite a lot. If you started out after 1.6 patch and your build is stamina based dps, chances are that you are simply too poor to afford the best gear and you haven't pvp'ed enough to gain Caltrops, so the dps you put out will always be at best 10-12k. Not everyone willingly wears the less optimal builds.
However 7k dps is enough to get through any pledge, given that you have personal skills to make up for it, but it will not be a 12 minute run.
But otherwise yes, I totally agree with you.

✭✭✭This thread really does beg the question; Why don't the people who want the perfect group set-up (gear, build etc) actually make friends with others of the same mind set and leave the rest of us to do our own thing? After all, there's actually a dedicated forum to seek out like minded people whatever your in-game preferences are. If you're struggling to find like minded people to group with, then why come on here and *** like it's our fault rather than your own?
I have found plenty of people to game with in ESO that fit into my style of play, so why is this actually a major issue for those that prefer the min/max type of gamers? Is it because your arrogance puts others off or is it because your own style of play isn't actually required by the vast majority?
Seems there's a number of self proclaimed uber gamers out there that like to pick fault with others before taking a good look at their own shortcomings. Seriously, it's not too difficult to find like minded people whatever your preferences may be.8 -

Secondly this sounds like the sort of things that guilds sort out. If you join a guild which achieves or strives for high end speed runs @ trials or wants to blitz through pledges or general dungeons then you would expect to have to answer questions around your play style and build(s).
I would like to be able to inspect people but not for the reasons that some have came up with. I want to be able to answer questions posed to me by people. I have lost count of the number of players I have helped through pledges/vet dungeons/dungeons. They ask for help around boss tactics and that often brings build into it. Answering those questions would be much easier if I could check their builds rather than asking for it details which they sometimes do not know where to look. I cannot remember the names of all the skills and their morphs, being able to look would help.

✭Did any of the complainers here ever stop to think that some of us build our characters to play with more people, not a certain few. If I wear stamina enchanted Heavy armor it is because I'd like a little extra in reserves to get out of the way when I need to because I don't mind playing without a tank. I've made good builds and I've made bad builds but at least I've done it, I've never looked at what someone else said to do I do it for myself. Mine may not be the best build but as an Example I've got a Templar that has been able to solo a group of VR13 Welwa in Upper Craglorn since I was VR8 and that is good enough for me. I did have trouble with the ones that morph if they caught me off guard but I've taken them out too, just takes longer and can make fewer mistakes.Proud member of the Psijic Order - The first wave - The 0.016%0 -

Totally with you. I ask my husband sometimes his opinions if I am just really torn. I am Magicka and Stamina split mostly health because i built my Templar first for tanking then decided having her as a backup healer when that was was needed instead would be nice so I am working on that now too. I know what gear set i want to craft to five pieces and which set i want to to three pieces (or four when I have 1h/shield equipped) and that choice is mine and mine alone based on my playstyle. I haven't had any issues so far and if i happen to run into them I would adjust them with possible help from opinions i trustTalons Fury - Sorc. Tank

Some possible motives of wanting inspection:- Learn gear and ability information from other players
- Learn appearance information from other players
- Help / advise others players
- Loot sharing
- Include/exclude group members
Some possible reasons for not wanting inspection:- Not wanting to share a successful build with the enemy
- Not wanting to see copies of my unique appearance worn by others
- Not wanting to be excluded from a group
- Not wanting to be judged by others

That's not what he is saying I went through that in Tera as well I was a mystic healer instead of priest which was the meta why because I prefered mystic healing but I could never get into at that the argon queen dungeons because people even some in my guild didn't want to chance wiping while learning a dungeon with someone who had never played it so it got to the point where there was nothing to do. i recently before coming here went back to tera and when i logged in i saw looking for x dungeon only ilevel 135+ I say what's the point. gear inspections only lead to people like you justifying a kick before you even see how the player plays and since like tera this is not a tab target game that requires mechanics that need to be learned and might take a wipe or two to learn them then an ilevel would just isolate players. you can have a gear check run with guild members who share your same mindset but let's not isolate players trying to learn a dungeon because they fail to meet some arbitrary ilevel that doesn't have a real point to itTalons Fury - Sorc. I've lost count how many times you've thrown your toys out of the pram in the space of 4 short pages. Really is embarrassing if you are indeed over the age of 12. No doubt you'll be back in this thread posting before announcing you're departure from it again in an overly dramatic fashion. But really I would not care if there was an option to disable it, I see no harm in the folks that want to share that info sharing just another option.
I don't think it is anyone's business what I have equipped or my build, if I want to share I will post it, I share with friends and guild members, of if someone asks I will take the time to share info, but I am no elite player just your average core player..

And thats already in the game(at least its available with addons)

✭✭Inspection is a worthless addition to the genre. The arguments for its implementation are misguided. ESO is not as dependent on gear score or specific cookie cutter builds to complete dungeons. Sure, certain fotm builds will do it better or faster, but the individuals who care about that are already in a guild of like minded people, using the appropriate gear. As far as PUG's go, we all are familiar with the lame, "lfg 100k gs, this sorta build healer." I for one am glad to not see that here. Also, in my experience, inspection quickly devolves into chat channel battles of, "lol bro look at your gear score, stfu and l2p before you comment." No thanks.
As it is only human nature, the addition of inspection will cause people to take less chances when experimenting with builds and play styles. Individuals, afraid to look silly with their experimental build, will just give up and do what everyone else says they should. At that point, ESO will be the same as every other mmo, and I'll most likely shelve it like I did those.5 -

Seems to me like a good number of people moved to ESO because those other games were not "working," for them. The inspections and elitist attitude at end game and throughout was most likely one of the many factors that caused the switch.4 -
Ratbert✭✭LOL If you want to shop at goodwill don't expect to get into a fancy steakhouse. I'm all for taking new people into hard content but if they can't contribute because they are running out of resources or are not performing due to gear limitations they will need to work towards that goal or they are wasting everyone's time.
I don't expect to run my templar healer with all heavy gear and stamina and do an exceptional job at keeping everyone alive and focused on their jobs. Badly built toons may be able to accomplish some tasks but GREAT builds can pull sh@# out of a hat when things go wrong and succeed. I build my toon to make the impossible possible. Not to "get by".
