So players do not go through the rigmarole of being excluded, because they do not have the latest meta build, right type of armor, etc.

Yes, it is. Inspection brings the worst out in fanatical gamers. The rest of us will never be able to even PUG again if such a thing happens. Say goodbye to ANY kind of cooperation, which is kind of a good thing in MMOs, no?

Okay, but if i inspect a healing templar, and his gear is all stamina based and is wielding a restoration staff and he is my healer for dungeon, arent I morally obligated to say "hey bro what's going on with your gear, you said you were healing"?

I get the point of privacy but couldnt there be a on off button on instructions and truthfully every MMO I've played that's had inspections has actually made me a better player in the long run acquiring the desire to get better gear than others.

don't you want a game that 75% of the population is actually properly geared instead of 50% of the population is terribly good and there is no competition

I think it's irrelevant in the long run. People who discriminate aren't particularly logical in how they discriminate. And given the option, most people are going to play with "friends" and ignore "strangers," regardless of available information.

Let the elitists for their own groups. I wouldn't enjoy myself in them anyway.

we see the other side of the coin right now and its no better, people joining grps for vdsa and vet pledges that cannot pull theyre own weight and expect to be carried cause they have zero interest in using different gear skills etc. inspection would bring out elitists but it would still be a better system than try people out and waste time figuring out whats wrong with the grps dps heals etc

According to who? Are you kidding me. I even have a flipping example. People that wear stamina gear that are magicka users and are healing, etc are not "properly geared"

According to me and 99% of other people that know what stamina skills use stamina. And magicka skills use magicka. According to developers, everyone.

The chances are, most of those gear/build specific gamers are already either in like minded guilds or have a list of online friends who only want to group with like minded people. If your only hope of grouping is with randoms, then you can't expect those same standards. It's a game, we're all free to gear how we want and we don't feel obliged to gear in the hope that you'll be our virtual friend. So I'm not exactly sure what those percentages that you pulled from thin air are meant to represent??

Wow, your starting to take my respone and quoting it like CNN. Does.

If you don't wear gear that has 100% nothing related to healing or whatever something I cant put into the correct words right now, but you know what I mean.

If I'm wearing a stamina set and no magicka gear at all, my attribute points are all in stamina, and I'm ready to do a dungeon, pvp, pve as a healer, those other people are oblugated to say something to me.

A "crap player" is anyone who doesn't have gear or build that matches someone else's personal standards.

The fact that my character does what I want it to, can perform the way I want it to, and I have fun playing it means I'm a crap player. Its' obvious. I haven't min/maxed my build to the uber leetest possible.

No one is obliged to tell you anything. As much as I hate using the internet buzzword of the year "entitled", you really are coming across as such. Like i said, if your only way of grouping is by grouping with randoms, then you've got to expect that people won't always be forthcoming with the truth or won't be kitted out to your high standards.

Every single person playing the game doesn't need to tell you or me anything.

Cute, but meaningless. Your opinion of my gear choices does not mean anything to me.

Examinations should be optional, just like group invitations are. Instead of "snooping", you should have to communicate with the player that you'd like to check out their gear and a notification would pop up just like a group invite.

This should also have a toggle feature where a player can disable the ability for players to send examination requests, which would result in being exactly like the system is now.

Coming from DCUO, I have no major issues with inspection. And despite my initial objections, I'm not concerned about online viewing of characters either.

But it would most definitely get used for a basis for exclusion. Oh....you've equipped ABC? Well, that doesn't fit my expectation and I don't care to find out if it hobbles you or not, so....kick.

But for the love of all that is good in this world, do not - I repeat DO NOT - add a scoreboard to instances.

Yet another thread that could have had a decent discussion, destroyed because of lack of an open mind. I swear people need to get out of this loop of "We should have this!" "No, we don't need that!" when we can clearly have both with a toggle feature.

My god this forum needs to grow up and start having mature constructive discussions.

Most people in this thread fully accept others want different things. However, the internet being the internet and us being gamers, it usually doesn't take long before those with massive superiority complexes enter the fray. Look how it all kicked off. One of those people doing what they do best, telling others that are against the implementation of this feature that they must be crap gamers.

Seriously, how do people expect these sort of discussions to pan out when these type of people come in and the first thing they do is to nail their aforementioned superiority complex to the mast?
