The second picture definitely doesn't quite say "pirate" like the first. I'm glad you brought this up, as I've been focusing on how disappointing MY character will look come 1.6, but now I realize how many of the NPCs will be recruits of Starfleet as well.driosketch wrote: »Here's a comparison of the old and new Seadrake costume. Note how the new shirt doesn't really match the style. It's almost Star Trek like.

On a serious note, maybe they want not all of the female armors to have cleavage.
Yes. This. All of it.Whilhelmina wrote: »You just upped the PEGI rating from 16 to 18 and you remove boobs?
I'm female. My character happens to wear full breton plate armour, because she likes functional european-type heavy armour. So I'm not even impacted by the change. But having the option to pick sexy outfits (which are very far from slutty outfits) is very important for female players. Reverse this, ZOS!
I have to say that the Orcish Heavy Armor "boob window" doesn't make any sense given orc culture - you'd expect them to go into battle with every weakness protected. But I am less bothered about it than I am about "boob plate armour", which features in several of the women's Heavy Armors.I greatly enjoy sensible and practical armor and when I saw the Orcish boob window for the first time, I went "well that's just moronic, do you want to get stabbed?" But all things considered, it's a mild example of revealing armor and there's a dozen of other styles available, so I don't mind. I can find something for myself too. Even so, my characters aren't all the same and don't wear armor all the time (casual stroll around town, anyone?) Light armor is the equivalent of traditional Elder Scrolls robes, which are just clothes, and there's no reason why they need protective padding and whatnot. Of course they could have it, but it's not a basic requirement. Let's keep some of them lighter.
It's not that I'm against this idea so much as that I feel it shouldn't be necessary. In the Elder Scrolls universe, Light Armor has always been clothing rather than the type of armour used for protection - why change that now? Also the Justice System loot has no Armor Rating and so is useless as anything other than a costume. You can't wear it on top of your normal armour to change its appearance, you have to wear it instead of armour.Maybe the answer is to add some more actual clothing to the game? They've already started doing this a bit with some of the Justice System loot.
Yes... As someone who prefers her men in Shirts/Jerkins and Breeches rather than robes, it really bugs me that so many awesome sets only drop as Robes. Give me a Shirt of Magicka Furnace or Jerkin of the Warlock, please!Male outfits can be really bad too, who among us is not tired of robes? Almost every light armor drop set in the game is still Robes only! And why all the robes have to be closed like a dress? Seriously... Give us open robes with actual pants underneath it...
I believe the "painted on" issue may have been part of their intention, especially in their decision to remove the appealing intricacies of the Redguard Light armor, but I'm not even sure they really succeeded. Looking at the Redguard Medium specifically now, check out the chest belt. It, in my opinion, looks significantly more "painted on" than it did previously and practically blends in completely with the chest when it hits the shoulder area. Either that, or the belt is about as thin as a t-shirt - they even give you a nice close-up zoom of what I'm talking aboutThe armors look way better now, quality wise. As for the skin coverage issue, I won't say anything since I'll be damned if I do or don't either way. However the actual graphical quality is much better and looks far less "painted on" (an issue I have brought up since my first Beta 17 months ago). I am always happy to have better graphics in my gaming and this change brings just that.
