12 Month one time reward

Who thinks there needs to be about a month leeway for people who's subs lapsed just for a bit due to small reasons, they are still very loyal subscribers. Personally mine lapsed for just over a week due to money reasons and I consider this a massive insult if there is no leeway.

Sorry for the rant :P

Would it be a "massive" insult if they were absolutely inflexible on this? No.

Would it be nice if they gave people a little leeway? Yes.

Let's try and tone down the hyperbole, please.

Yeah, I had to let mine go two different times, I'd appreciate a little leeway, considering all the testing I did during beta as well.

    Fair point :P

Update, a bit of an insult.

Sorry to rain on your parade.

From Matt Frior on the reddit AMA today. "I don't anticipate there being any leeway."
"It's not a "12 month sub" reward, because obviously we're making the Tamriel Unlimited transition less than 12 months after launch.
What it means is that if you purchased the game and have subbed since April 2014 to March 17, 2015, you'll get the special reward. I don't anticipate there being any leeway."

    Cheers for the info :)
But that really sucks :/ I imagine there are a lot of people on the same boat as me that are all very loyal subscribers and leaving them out is just a *** move in my opinion.

Can you give some more insight on the requirements to qualify for this bonus, specifically if "April" refers to the whole of April, or only players who managed to subscribe right at launch.

Was among the people who purchased Early Access but got locked out of my account for about a week after the 4th of April due to the supply issues that Game Time Cards had in terms of availability.

It would be rather upsetting to be locked out of receiving this bonus due to issues the company had with providing adequate stock in time for launch.

Yeah, I've been around for a long time, and although not continuously subscribed (missed three months in the late spring and summer while I was traveling a lot and they were fixing bots) I was in the beta weekends and early access and monitored the forums while I was gone. But, still, my not subscribing cost them $45 in revenue and will cost me whatever mount they decide to roll out.

It is not as if they need to buy my future support or game recommendations to my friends or anything. Although, I did actually get them another subscriber this week, not that this is worth very much in the long term, and there might be a couple more in the wings as I have been spreading the word to a few people I know who were not liking the subscription requirement. Their marketing wing will more than cover whatever business I could drive their way. They won't need to take note of long time players or people who help them build their player base in the future. They won't even know they exist.

Nope. The only fans are the ones who have been continuously subscribed and, come March 17, they have no further need for them. I am sure that for every fan today, there will be a dozen new people who don't care whether they are (or were) a fan or not.

I would also very much like an answer to this topic, I've been subscribed since beta, but due to my preferred payment method, I had to go with non-recurring subs each time. And there have been these days where I tried to log in to ESO to realize my sub just ran out, which prompted me to refresh it straight away.

It would be uncool to miss out on a loyalty reward by basically a few hours. :/

    Expect an answer akin to:

    or

"We will release more details later"

It really should be 12 months total, not 12 months without any disruption. I myself have been travelling for several months, obviously not subscribing during that time, but I've been otherwise playing since beta.

as long as it is a logical, reasonable (in terms of game value) gift, i find myself agreeing 101% with Matt Firor. For just this once. Ever.

except that the only thing meeting the above criteria is a t-shirt stating in bold, red letters:

    I AM AN IDIOT
i paid 12 months of a sub so i could beta test a free product
i did that only to be told that updates would then slow down
    I REALLY AM AN IDIOT

that is an applicable 12 month gift i would think. And of a relative value to what your sub meant in terms of customer support/appreciation

In my case I would have been subbed since the game launched but since the steam release had an exclusive pet I switched to steam account which made me stop that subscription obviously. I am OCD about getting everything the game releases....and because of a stupid decision on ZOS part about not making that dog available to all I am screwed cause I switched... so pissed..

I've lost out on a few days but I think 1 month of leeway is sound. Between my transition between the first 30 days with game purchase and when I actually set up automatic payments, but I've been here since November of 2013.

    Heh.

I went a step further than that. On more than one occasion, I used my paid days to actually track down bugs, bots, and gold sellers over the last 9 months. I even spent a few hours of my own time writing a couple of add-ons to assist me.

    I guess should get a special T-Shirt. :)

For the whingers who feel this is unfair, just think about it:

Zos: hey guys here's a special gift for people who subbed for 12 months!

Customer 1: that's so unfair, I subbed 11 months, only missed by one month, can't there be some leeway?

Zos: OK, OK, special gift for people who subbed 11 months.

Customer 2: wait, but I subbed for 10 months, I only missed one month, that's so unfair! Can I have a little leeway?

Zos: OK special gift for people subbed for 10 months!

Customer 3: hang on, I was subbed for 9 months what about me?

Zos: go on then, special gift for people subbed for 9 months!

Customer 4: 8 months here, what about me?

So where would you draw the line for the special reward? It's gotta be somewhere!

Unless it's a pink unicorn that can *** rainbows that wipe entire pulse zergs I'll unsub and wait for the b2p game that I helped fund the development of.

@Aenra and anyone at ZOS in charge of physical merch I'd pay 2 months sub for the t-shirt.

Similar thing happened with wow recently and their 10 year reward. I understand people being unhappy that they just missed out, but the line has to be drawn somewhere.

For what it's worth I subbed to eso since release but my cancelled subs will end in Feb. They can keep the mount.

i too reported so many bots, i barely played the first few weeks. And i am being totally honest here.
i continued to do so even after seeing the same bots running free a week after i had reported them.

    not my issue, not something i hold against them;
if i had to TLDR as you lot say it, i would say that my issue is twofold and twofold alone:

    - of all the things an online TES game could be, we got a bareback, stereotypical themepark that lacking the IP power and the PR money Bethesda had to pour into it, would have died from month one. Just think what you could do in ANY tes game, even back in Daggerfall or Arena, and get back to me
    - that instead of firing the dinosaur directly responsible for said atrocity AND waste of a monumental, one-time opportunity (do not delude yourself we will EVER see another TES mmorpg) i am actually forced to continue watching his obnoxious, obese face as he spouts lie after lie. While he gets royally paid to do just so

What really irks me about this is, the bots screwed me over again.

I was getting hit with this bug where my gear would deteriorate at a horrifying rate. I was seeing repair bills over 1k on a level 8 after 15 minutes of gameplay. Trying to find out if anyone on the boards had any information, and getting trolled by metric tons of "lolz l2p noob" human waste.

I remember logging in to 26 gold spam messages in my inbox, it was actually preventing me from getting my hireling mail, and (for whatever reason) I couldn't delete any of them. I Threw my hands up. I logged out, unsubbed.

Came back about a month later, on the say so of, "no, really they have them under control." And, turns out they did. But, those ***, and some of the trolls in the community, managed to get me to screw myself out of this. :\
