p_tsakirisb16_ESO, what addon are you using? Sorry for the off topic, but that does help with identifying issues.

Broken "Rewards for the Worthy" items are still broken from a previous change. They are unusable, have no visible appearance when worn, and no stats.

I need to get this off my chest.

Let me be clear. I know Zenimax allows all addons, but does not support them.
Of course they do not allow any software that exploits the game or is against their rules.

I am all for addons that costumize how the game looks to you, or adds information the game sends you, like what in-game time it is, and what in-game month it is. Since TES have their own names for months. Or whatever you want.
TES history is mods and addons so players can create, share and change lots of things in TES games.

This is an MMO, so of course MODS is not possible. Only the game for example can decide what a sword looks like and its stats/uses.

    My concern

Again, I know these addons I am going to talk about are allowed, so this post is meant to voice my concern, and if others or Zenimax have this concern as well.

There are addons that shows you in game, on a map, the exact location where specific valueble "items" are located.
    1. Skyshards - Not only is it part of the game to find these very valueble skyshards, because 3 of them gives you 1 skill point. Skill points is one of the most important way to grow and develop your character. I see no problem with how the skyshards are placed and how many there are.

My concern is that having a map that shows exactly where all these are hidden, have 3 problems.

      1. One of the features of ESO is exploration. To really explore the whole of Tamriel, not only the roads, but looking what hides behind every rock, every tree, or whatever it may be. This is a very good feature in ESO, that only single RPGs have been really good at. ESO is the first MMO that have a real exploration feature in such detail.

Having a map that shows exactly where these important Skyshards are, makes exploration less valueble, since it is not the player who found it, but a program who did it.

      2. Even though it is good for a player to find as many skill points as possible. Having to many skill points, lowers the value of each skill point.

Players with few skill points is taking their time to decide what skill to build next. What is most important to them? This has the effect that the player "learns" better what is important to their character, and what to focus on.

This has a feature that lets the player choose which of lets say 6 skills they would want, but can only choose 1, right now, is the most important. The player really looks at each skill, before making the choice.

Removing the need for the player to choose what skill they think is important and how they want to build their character takes away the importance and the understanding of what skill to use.

When you can pick almost every skill, instead of thinking about your choice and how you want to build your character, creates a lack of interest and boredom for skills.

      3. Collecting skyshards gets turned from an adventure and very fun and feeling of accomplishment when you do find one, to not just boring. But several players have stated it as "grinding" or work to run around and collect all the skyshards.

Again, a great feature gets turned into a shore and boredom. Because of this addon.

The same can be said about addons that shows the locations of every Lorebook and a map showing the exact location of treasure maps. It takes away the VERY good feature of finding both Lorebooks and the treasure.

Again, players who has these have stated the same thing to me, that it feels like a shore to gather all the lorebooks.

And having the exact location where a treasure is located from a treasure map, completely removes the fun of a treasure hunt.

My growing concern is the boredom more and more players are expressing because they feel gathering skyshards and lorebooks is more like a job, instead of a reward for your efforts getting them

I want to point out, I do not want to push my own agenda on others. I do not use a single addon myself, and want everyone to choose how to play, and not be told how they "should" play.

To many players gets bored because of this. The players who do not use the addons, and played just as long, still enjoy finding these, and do not get bored from it.

I have played since the first day of 5 days early access, and I still get as happy for finding a skyshard now, as I did the first time months ago.

I am not looking to change where the skyshards are, or any type of game change that would force everyone to play like I do.

I am just concerned about the growing boredom among players about the "shore of having to run all over and collect the skyshards"

@Cogo‌ Your intentions are good and I would agree with you ordinarily. However, there is no way to force the player to explore as intended. If ZOS blocked these addons, players who use them would simply go to wikis or google every skyshard, lorebook, treasure map location. The result is the same only more tedious. All it would do is irritate the populace that relies upon them without really changing their behavior. In this day and age of the Internet there is no way to force players to explore.

    I agree 100%

Thats why I said in my post that I am not looking for any change in game! I am just voicing a concern...and its not just 1 person who are bored for this reason.

I dont have any suggestion what to do. And I would NEVER EVER suggest anything like forcing people to play in one way.

What I can do is post here. See if people agree......and go from there.

Every problem doesnt have a GOOD solution. And I rather it stays like it is...then Zenimax stops allowing addons......

Just so you understood me correct =). I love the freedom, but freedom always means alot of people do alot of different things :-p

The need for spring cleaning unearthed a three ring binder from about 1979 that was filled with graph paper on which hand drawn maps were carefully collated for use with the CRPGs of the day (wizardry proving grounds of the mad overlord was the first I recall from back then distributed on cassette tape for the orignal Apple][) by the time we get to about 1982 the newer games had auto mapping features and some folks were complaining about no longer having the fun of creating their own maps( I for one was very glad that the game was now doing the mapping)" and ASCII text graphic maps for the older games were turning up on the bbs of the era..

The point of all this is that you can never keep everyone happy and with a MMO this is even more of an issue as the developer has the near Imposable task of balance between the pvp and pve sides of the game as well as balance between class archetype design.

The availability of addons to some extent the developer must ignore once the baseline of the API is defined and the player that wants to play the game as it was designed must therefore eschew the use of addons. And the player that wants above all to top the leader boards and become emperor must embrace them this is just the fact of playing online computer games.

(Of course the ability to hack and bot a game adds another nasty layer that impacts both play styles and until a final nail is driven into a coffin for those scumm it remains at the top of my list of things that need to be fixed in this game. They have driven me from the live servers to messing about on the PTS )

Hmm, so you can 'bash' out of a 1.5s channel (Flurry), still get all 6 hits, x4 in the span of the original channel time.

You do realize that would put like 28 entries in your damage log?

XP not getting applied unless I relog after every quest turn-in.

The quest "Eye of the Ancients" is bugged (In the VR Aldmeri Dominion zone of Auridon): Killing the Maormer Captain and looting his welkynd stone does not update the quest. Relogging does not help. I also noticed something else before I even got to that bug: I had picked up this a quest a few days prior to the patch being applied. Logging in for the first time after the patch I still had it but after relogging (to get xp applied) the quest disappeared from my quest log and I had to re-obtain it. I ran into another player who had the same thing happen to him.

I wanted to add that I do not use any add-ons whatsoever.

Ok these are issues I'm encountering.
1 in the quest storming the garrison King emerics voiceover doesn't work when I talk to him after opening the gate.
2 combat lag I can't tell if I'm dying or not and I can't tell the enemies health because their health lowers way after I hit them
3 whatever that spinning blade sound is keeps going off and following me everywhere
    4 invisible enemies hitting me
5 Oh and my ultimate sticking around and lagging everything when I get close to it. My ults Solar Disturbance rank iv if it makes a difference.

i actually noticed it updates when you enter a new area, like a delve or a house from outside the main world. It does count as you have it as it leveled me up when i still had like 3k exp to level according to my bar, but once i left the delve i was in it showed the correct level/exp amount. I would say try this before re-logging, as i would hope this would fix it and there isn't a small % of players that have to re-log to see these gains.

I just dont get how can u "fix smthing", but suddenly its not fixed its more broken or it breakes more things :D (Like FPS drops which makes the PvP unplayable, or silver shard oneshot crap)....

Also time spend on doing some "list of known issues" (we all know about them, we can make that list for u :D) cld be maybe spend somewhere else - like for example actual fixing things..

Enchanting has one of the most annoying bug.

No matter that the skill is hard to raise but between 27-29 you need around 500,000 xp. While 29-50 scales better, with 29-30 need 70,000 xp and so on.

Those 500,000 xp equals to almost 5-6 levels in Enchanting.

Many I know of have made bug report, but nothing has happened more than two months now.

Well at least the deleted the useless runes........lol I guess this was too difficult to get fixed.
