Why would anyone like limited space?

Well... not being able to hoard anything you possibly want and having to make decisions about what you keep and get rid of increases authenticity, it helps keep the economy from expanding too quickly, it's a decent gold sink...

In short, economical and authenticity reasons. To be honest, once they put the new kiosk system in, I imagine it is going to be even more important than it is now to keep bank space expensive/limited.

Note that he asked why anyone would like it. That's why I would like something. Also note that I used the word imagined. A word that doesn't imply actually knowing something.
Whether you laugh or not is no concern to me.

You only used that word in terms of the kiosk system, the part above lacked anything suggesting you were talking about possibilities, and we both know you weren't talking about possibilities there, but don't mind me, please, go on, because I finally do get some laughs out of this.

@Cats525‌ By reading your arguments and retaliations to the current system, I can see there is no winning with you, you shift the argument every time you lose it, then circle around to the start again, you are using analogies that do not actually compare.
And you use your own personal experience as a base for argument.

If we are doing that, then I might say, Ive got all the CE stuff stored in my bank, I have recipes, crafting ingredients, including every single alchemy plant, I currently possess ever single costume I've encountered in game.
I am currently leveling every single profession on a single character, thus not getting the extra space of an alt inventory.
My horse does not carry anything.
    My bank holds 90.
I have more than enough space to get by.

So since you are the one saying we do not have enough bank space.
You have the responsibility of proving what you are saying.

Prove to me that my bank is not big enough? And once you do that, prove to me why buying the next bank upgrade does not solve that problem?

Why would I try or have to do that? If you say you have enough bank space for your playstyle, I have no reason to doubt that. I also never doubted that Allyah would have enough for his/her (simply don't know which one, sorry) playstyle, be my guest to search the entire thread, I never said anything like that. On the contrary:

I don't recall writing there isn't more than one way to do things. I simply stated that the system in place for this game already works and it works how it is intended.
And I never claimed you said that. You said if one person can do it, others can do it too. I was simply pointing out that since people play this game in many different ways, your statement is way too simplified, especially for a game such as ESO that's all about freedom of choice.
I always said that people have different playstyles, if the bankspace is enough for yours, well good for you, it's not enough for mine for sure, and there's more than one thread on this forum and enough complaints in zone chat to show that I'm certainly not the only one. Btw buying the next bank upgrade only works as long as you can afford it.

And I'm not the one who shifts or circles around anything here, in fact my statement throughout the thread has been very consistent from the beginning:
    Cats525 wrote: »
That's either ignorance or a blunt lie. I've been playing MMOs for 13 years now and this is the first MMO I've ever played where having six characters with each of them only having one profession can actually be the reason for an inventory/bankspace problem.
Notice how it doesn't say "will", "must" or anything like that but "can"? I never clamed it's a problem for everyone.

Btw if you see no chance to win then maybe you should try harder. Remember that statement about if one person can do it? Well I lost arguments before in my life fair and square, so if other people managed, you should be able to do so too, right?

Infinite space might be inauthentic, but why are you so vehemently against more bank space?

I'm not going to insult people with OCD by saying that I have it, but I definitely feel a bit of anxiety with this inventory system, which is not something a game should do. Why are you so selfish that you can't see that a lot of people are like this?

I don't know what I'm going to do going forward. I really wish ZOS would, at the very least, let me just give them $15 for more bank spaces instead of a horse I essentially already have.

I cannot stress enough how these pedantic gold sinks only lead people to buy gold, which Zenimax has stated is their #1 priority right now.

I've already told you why I'm against more bank space. And I do believe I added "at the moment." Because you seemed to have missed it, I will repeat... It is way too early to demand more bankspace. When they establish more of an economy, then this discussion might need to happen.

If someone with OCD is so bothered by the lack of bank spaces, they are probably going to be having a lot more issues with the game and probably shouldn't be playing it. Why are you so selfish that you can't see that a lot of people aren't like that? Don't be a hypocrite. Just don't.

What would help you go forward is listening to the advice people have given you on this forum. This is not a hard concept to grasp. And I'm not trying to be mean when I say that I just know you are capable of doing it. If it really causes you anxiety, I don't know what to tell you except that is not the anyone else's problem. I know that sounds uncaring but this just goes back to the issue of selfishness. If this brings someone anxiety, it is just as selfish, if not more, to ask for something to be changed when others are not having issues with it. (And before anyone goes here -- this does not mean I don't have sympathy for people with disorders. It means that I don't want them to take it for granted that just because they have a disorder they can always get what they want.) No that was not aimed directly at you. Just trying to cover as many bases as possible.

Again, if someone is going to buy gold for bagspace, they are going to buy gold for anything else they want in the game immediately.

I have already mentioned all this before. Again, the best thing you can do it follow the advice people have given from earlier in this thread rather than repeating what you and others have already asked me. You aren't going to get a new answer.

Honestly, I would like somebody to show me what they mean by not having enough bank/bag space.
I cannot for the life of me manage to put myself in that situation.
I literally have to store lots of useless stuff I don't and will never need.

Sure enough the game is made to cater for as many different play styles it can.
But I do not believe they had intentions of making it for hoarders.
If I had the significant amount of bank space increase that is suggested in this thread then I would never sell or buy from other players.
I would literally store everything I find. As for money? I can make enough money for my next bank upgrade in an hour of normal playing.
Plus I have nothing else to really spend it on.

Bare in mind, I am a crafter above all else in this game, I have not added a skill point to my combat skills since level 30 I think.. I don't quite remember its been so long.
So if I cannot use my bank space, I do not know how its possible.
Please show me a screenshot/s of your fully upgraded, full bank.
    Show me your evidence.

Since ESO has virtually no economy, people are utilizing gold sellers primarily to increase bank and bag space. If ZOS wants to combat gold selling, then give us a commodities tab in our bank with a stack limit for items.

You have hordes of junk in there that you do not need.
Start with those racial stones, the ones you can buy from any crafting vendor for 15g
Next up, why stacking so much of the same resource? Do you intend to sell it? then why not sell it.
Do you want to use it? why are you not using it?

Why things such as steel ingots when you have far superior quality items?
What purpose do you have for these?

Wow I didn't expect to create such a large thread with this discussion. But yeah, I think it would be great if there were a separate bank tab just for crafting materials. Mainly for organization rather than space, since you CAN in fact upgrade your bank to a reasonable size. When I started this thread, I was under the impression that 110 was the max bank size, and that is apparently not the case.

Why would I get rid of my racial stones? I use them frequently. When skilling up professions and trading with other people, I'll often need hundreds.

I assume you're referring to the multiple stacks of Calcinium? I intend to use it. I do not have the ability to create other human beings out of thin air who want to trade items to deconstruct, so I have to hold on to some them at times until I find a partner.

I use Steel Ingots on alts.

But I no longer have gold issues so I have been able to expand my bank slots significantly. I still hope Zenimax revises the inventory system for other people who don't have access to the resources that I do, however.

yes I understand the need to have a lot of racial stones, however you do not need a mixed variety of them.
Using for example exclusively flint you can effectively hold more of your crafted item to trade.

The extra bank space you have that allows you to play how you want at the cost of gold is a reward for your ability to obtain it.
It should not be given to all players, its a part of the game they should learn, and with that learn how to use it efficiently. There is no need to tamper with things that are not broken.

If you're a crafter I would say you should craft with them and the other mats in your bank and then trade them to a crafting buddy or alt for decon.

If you're not a crafter then why do you need all that crap?

The question you should be asking is "How the hell do I get rid of my racial stones?"

Buying gold is cheating. Simple as that. No one even has the excuse that it is difficult to make gold in this game. You have some nerve to publicly condone cheating. I'll give you that.

I'm "horrible" for not condemning people for buying gold in a video game? Let's dial back a bit on the sanctimonious rhetoric there, McCarthy.

I could argue that someone buying gold solely to expand their bank/inventory/etc. is actually helping the game, because doing so destroys gold that otherwise may have been bought by someone who would have just put it back into the economy by buying tempers or epics. That's the point of gold sinks, no?

You could argue that, but you'd be wrong. Buying gold gives someone an advantage over someone who doesn't. This contributes in breaking certain aspects of the game that the people who created the game didn't want broken. If you spent years making a game, I don't think you'd appreciate the people changing the game for everyone to suit their own needs instead of playing it how it was designed.

    Avidus wrote: »

You may be entirely right about that, however there is something to consinder here so bear with me for a moment please.

I think it's no secret that at least part of the target audience of this game are people who have played one or several Elder Scrolls titels before. Now as I've already mentioned (not sure atm if it was in this thread or another), since Morrowind people made mods to make you able to carry more and they were very popular. However even if we just take the vanilla game, it wasn't exactly difficult to get a house, which made it possible for you to store a shipload of crap. If you take the latest single player titel, Skyrim, it's been a while since I last started a new game, but I think it was less than 10 quests that you had to do before you got to furnish Breezehome. And just like the other houses, it was in a town that had all crafting stations available, so even with vanilla inventory, people still were able to store huge amounts of crafting materials, take them from the chests and start crafting right around the corner. That's the kind of game alot of people come from, and while certainly not all Elder Scrolls players were packrats, I'm sure there are more than just a few who ended up with up to 1000 items stored in total, distributed over the chests of their houses and I'm not even one of them. So this limitation is something a good part of the players is most likely not used to.

Also we're not talking about the "endless" space, which would cause more technical than economical problems in this game, that several Elder Scrolls players are probably used to by now in this thread, but rather just a higher starting number.

I can give you the answer to that at least, because they sell pretty well at the guild store. I also keep stacks of those, and everytime I login with a char that's standing at the Auridon bank, which happens often thanks to the bank system, I do a quick round opening all the not yet opened chests, cabinets and backpacks in the building and the 4 cabinets in the temple right across the street. This results in my Khajiit, Altmer and Bosmer stones to regularely exceed 100. Everytime that happens I take a stack of 25 and put it on one of the guild stores for 125 gold (still cheaper than buying them form the npc), and they usually sell within a day or two. Low level provisioning recipes sell for the suggested price of 27 too btw.

Since this was posted while I wrote the other statement... you do know that every titel since Morrowind had an official editor, right?

Edit: At the moment this was written, the Nexusmods network alone has 33.575 mods for Skyrim with a total number of 451,73 million downloads, as well as 27.244 mods for Oblivion with a total number of 127,61 million downloads and 2.945 mods for Morrowind with a total of 3,53 million downloads.
