Gonna give it a month more to see where they are taking things! Lots of stuff i enjoy, but there is also a lot of issues that need to be fixed :-) but giving them some time
  • Happily_Smiles
i cancelled my subscription, the overall experience (at the moment) is rather meh, not worth paying extra money on top of the premium mmo prize i already paid. I read a couple of reviews yesterday and i agree with the 5/10 rating i read more than once. there is great potential here, but i am not paying more money until it is actually realised.

the biggest letdowns for me are:
    frozen combat ui (gamebreaker)
    grouping/phasing
low dungeon xp (first fight through BC and all i saw was 3xp per mob, some more for bosses)
bots/hacks (no more to say about this)
    customer support (worst experience ever)

on account of the last two points this game has replaced cryptic studios' STO on the no1 spot on my bad list.

I will keep coming back to the website/forums and check on game progress like i did today, but as of now this game is not for me.
too bad, the solo questing was kind of fun ... but not enough.

    Cross posting from reddit:

As it stands? no i will not.

Zenimax needs to have a couple of very strong patches before the month is up for me to remain subscribed. Namely they need to fix some core game issues:

    1. Dungeon experience, as i healer i get 0 exp for any mob kills, but generally, even as a DPS the exp rewards are insignificant.

    2. Dungeon loot, chests need to be shared, but especially boss loot needs to be unified for all group members, its not acceptable that some group members get a soul gem and others get blue or better gear drops from the same fight.

    3. Group finder and overleveled dungeons. I'm not able to do several cross faction dungeons because im one or 2 levels above the limit, worse... im still several levels bellow the next dungeon tier, so im stuck without being able to do both.

    4. European server... in europe. The lag in pvp is unbearable often at 200 to 300 ms.

    5. Proactive approach to dupes. In a matter of days several dupes have come to light, one of them was already known from beta. Even so, Zenimax only acted when the dupe became public knowledge, while people had been abusing it since day one of release.

If these issues are not addressed and a timeframe for the fixes/changes given before month is up, i wont subscribe.

Also, when you get to veteran it's so long to level up. It takes probably almost a map for you to level. I dont find it fun for doing quests all day.

Don't take this as me getting on your case; I've played plenty of aRPG's so I know how it can be enjoyable just to mindlessly kill mobs of enemies, but I think a lot of players are misinterpreting vet levels. You stop getting stats and the difference between V1 and V10 is quite minor. There is no need to rush/grind through quests to get their ASAP. If you just plain don't like doing quests at all, then unfortunately not much can be done about that, as it is a major focus of the game.

I do think leveling in Cyrodiil through vet levels should be an option (not sure if it actually it reasonably viable). Tacking on two extra faction playthroughs is a cheap and somewhat effective way of extending content, but for those who have little to no interest in PvE, it is silly to force them to play through the game twice more just so they can PvP at V10 ranks.

As for your question, I'll sub for at least a few months. The money is a non-issue for me and I think there is enough to keep me busy for at least that long. Beyond that it depends on what kind of content they add.

The core of the game is fun, and with nothing else deemed worthwhile to play online with friends, I will sub for a while.

However Elite 4 alpha is also fun, and beta with 4 million star systems (or whatever) will be even more fun.

    Also: Wildstar.

It's up to ZOS to sort out the problems and come up with things for me (and everyone else) to do that will determine how long I and many others in our gaming group sub for.

Did you ever wonder why wow lost 4 mio subs lately? Its because of raging wizards that demand that everyone plays the game professional and as a job.

You guys want to play at a professional level which would be fine, but then you also demand that everyone else does so and this is wrong.

People that demand a professional environment in MMO´s with DPS meters or Gearscore etc. don't want these tools to improve their own game, but to exclude and harass other gamers.

MMO´s were a much better world before those API things started to appear with the end of Vanilla.

They haven't lost that many subs. In fact, Blizzad are quite clever and have lost almost no subs. WoW loses subs whenever there is no new content for the casual players, such as now, and then they come back when the new content comes out. The same thing happened with SWTOR (hence f2p) and the same thing will happen with ESO. The difference is that when the content has worn out in WoW, Blizzard brings out new content elsewhere (like Diablo III or Hearthstone). Of no interest to me, but there's obviously a lot of people who think otherwise because the company profits stay consistently high.

Also, I don't care what you do and I assure you nor do other elite players of such games. We play it for ourselves and are more than fine with others playing on a much lower level. The only complainers are people such as yourself who don't like the idea of having to commit the time and energy needed to play a multiplayer game well. You're so used to single player games making you king of the world (or even universe) that you can't cope with the MMO concept of being bottom of the heap unless you can be bothered to crawl your way upwards.

Given that I unknowingly kept my AoC account open for a year and a half after stopping my best guess here is forever :)
I do really enjoy the game, and pretty much think about it all the time when not playing, and right now I can't see myself playing any other game for a very long time. If WoW could keep me occupied for more than 5 years then this should be even longer due to the fact that I fanboi <3 the ES series and I really like MMOs.

Nope. I cancelled my membership because im being jerked around by customer service due to the bank bug. Two lost subscriptions that could have easily been avoided if the reps did what they are supposed to and actually fixed the problem and reimbursed us. Never in all my years have I seen such a clusterfck as bad as this. Caused by poor coding, and the reps do everything in their power to NOT help you or make it right.

Keep the $120, but you can kiss the $360 a year goodbye...

Yes. However, if all new content coming out are for 4, 12, 24 grouped players and nothing for two persons (I always played with my wife and not interested in group), I most likely quit once I finish all the contents.

I will. Overall I like the core game.
Sadly, I don't have too much time to play games, and when I do, I prefer to take my time and have fun. Which means that there is a lot of content left to explore. I'm only level 20. And if I get lucky and not hit any gamebracking/progression blocking bug, I'll pay for the next, month, and probably the second month too. But for a long-term commitment I expect this game to improve A LOT, because I'm NOT very happy to pay for a privilege to beta test this game.

There is no better games by any means. You think ESO is the best game because you live in your own world. Not us.

In fact, I have actually found a game that is suit my play style.

Having fun but since all my friends quit and are now going to play wildstar I guess I will move on also, playing an mmo alone is no fun and ESO seems to do a great job of keeping people from actually playing together.

Very borderline. Probably not unless they fix the guild/ah issue. I keep putting it off hoping they'll fix it. But they seem not to listen based on what I heard from beta, so probably not.

So Yes? Because this is not really an issue to sub or non-sub. If this is the issue you quit i find it very odd. There is much more to do in the game then these easy bosses.

Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

They have a week to fix.

    Animation clipping.
Passive skills not being broken when zoning or dying.
    Night Blade bug fixes.

If they can fix this, by due date I will keep playing.

The rest of the stuff, bots and adding content. I can wait for, but these two things are just stupid, and needs to be fixed. If they can do it, I will stay, I'm not going to pay monthly for broken class, and broken combat.
