One question though, is the EP version of this quest different than the AD and DC versions? Because if it is, i just have to waggle my finger at ZOS for reals over this. You'd think they would have wised up after pulling that kind of silliness with Doshia in the Fighter's Guild questline.

I got past this travesty through sheer luck after ~50 tries over 3 days of being stuck. And to contrast, i beat a frickin' Daedric Prince 1st shot while half-asleep and full of allergy meds....

This is one of the bugs that have to be fixed as soon as they appear. Sure, there is a solution, but one that let's you jump to virtual death over and over.

I am very gratefull, that the time I was doing this quest, some guy was standing at the pillar and shooting arrows the way, the player had to jump and was telling, how it is done. Tumbs up for this!

Another having trouble with this quest. Like most I could not light one particular pipe to get the gate open.
Decided to abandon the quest and restart which made things worse. Now I cannot light the first pipe on the left hand side as well as the other one everyone seems to be having an issue with.

If I recall you have to stand on a very specific spot (as close as you get without falling off) and the "targetable" spot is smaller that with the others. But it is doable, I retook the quest too.

First time through it worked for me just fine (the first fire) - trying again now and nothing is happening.

*update* - finally found the trigger spot for the first fire and managed to jump at the right angle to light the last fire. Hope the trigger points are fixed by the time my other chars get to this stage.

What a crappy design, as ppl have mentioned in this thread the interaction with objects in this game can be so very very horrible... this isnt the only quest where you are having a hard time interacting with something... its mindblowing why its designed so crappy... seriously not like this whole interactive mmo envoirement is new or anything in 2014...

Been trying for a while and gave up for now...bs.

Any chance we can have a GM read and comment on this post? A sticky saying that they are looking into this bug and an ETA of a fix would be appreciated. This quest has been bugged and broken long enough now and is severely blocking peoples progress in the game and sucking enjoyment out of playing. It's even more annoying than the previously broken quest of poor old town that took some doing.

Seriously say,I can't believe this situation.It's very sloppy.
Ordinarily game developer does not release product with such a serious bugs.
"serious bug" means "player can't play game normally".

Last year,I did a lot of debug process in my work.
"debug" and "fix","debug" and "fix", "debug" and "fix".....
It's a boring work and not enjoyable,I know that. But,very need.
Without debug process, all game are mess up.
It doesn't become product,just a mass of data.
Developer should not release that sort of thing as a product.

I ran into the bug just now as well. I /bug(ged) it in game. The work around does indeed work but my goodness, how is this bug that's at such a huge choke point not fixed and fixed fast?

You don't need to jump on that one far cliff. I missed the cliff and fell to the bottom floor. So I just jumped from there to my death. While doing so you get the chance to "E" use item and it works. Stoll not the best way to do the quest but better than trying to jump and make it on that one platform.

I thought is was fun. Took quite a few tries. Jump to the left not at the target. Some peoples toons have some pretty outrageous beer bellys.

No, it is same for everyone. I believe that all quests in CH are same for every alliance really (atleast when it comes to main story line there). So yeah, argument that EB will lack vets because of this argument is, well... weird.

Also regarding Doshia - did you attempt Lyris Doppleganger as it is now? Especially if you play nightblade or even templar? And Lyris is main story quest:-)

Yeah and even though i beat her soundly, that fight was a pure pain. I like using bow on bosses 100% on my NB main, but for me Harvesters are mobs that have to be at least partially face tanked. And close up on that thing...not fun even knowing what you are doing.

* Funnel health/ Debilitate spam

* Backwards kite with bow, reapplying dots as needed til you hear the gong

* Swap to second bar

* Lotus fan into her face continue Funnel health spam

* When orbs get in close, Steel tornado them

* Resume kiting phase with bow

* When she's really low on health, back to DW bar and wade back in and quickly pop Soul Tether.

Ya its a pain in the ass for sure, took me like an hour to finally figure it out and jump/move/hit E all at the right time etc.etc, should be fixed for sure. Plus I dont have a gaming mouse which makes thing a bit harder to do the super mario jump /turn/aim/fire but not after a bit a "Rage quit" set in lol.

There are 2 different successes possible with the 4th brazier:
A. You hit the brazier (when the beam hits you are already dead) but the quest seemingly does not advance. It's easy to think here that you failed.
B. You hit the brazier and you get the confirmation that quest stage is finished (if you did the other 3 first).

In case A do recheck the other 3 braziers. There is/was a design/bug that one of these may need to be relit.

You don't need to jump off that high cliff. Many people fail just to make the cliff then jump to their death. If your on the bottom part, you still can jump to your death there, and hit the E button. Less time then when your up on the high pillar, but doable.

One interestng thing about Lyris, at lvl 30-44, if I did uppercut on her. She would beto powerful to get the knock back affect. When I went in lvl 50, the knock back from the Active comand worked. So I wonder what other abilities would eventually while not work, eventually become affective.

Here's a thought on how to fix this. How hard would it be to remove the fourth devise and have the gate unlock after lighting the other three?

This was awful. It is sure to drive people away -- who needs this? The fight with Molag Bal was exponentially easier and faster to complete, not to mention entertaining. Thanks for the video...going to give it to a friend so he doesn't quit -- bugs are one thing but this is ridiculous given the consequences of not finishing the quest.

I say it leave it as is but it will probably be fixed.

The trick to get it to work isn't some video or getting naked. the trick is to understand the mechanic behind the update completely and get your interweb connection as brisk as possible.

Look up one of the sites that test ping. If your ping is 35+ then good luck, if you're under that then you should be good ( i did it with 25).

The other thing you should do is go up to one of the easier updates and move your cursor around taking note of where the update is valid. So that when you jump you know exactly where to aim the cursor to get the update. Also if you have a programmable button mouse, go ahead and bind the interact with the world (usually E) key to one of the those mouse buttons and spam it while you aim for the sweet spot.

fyi, I died so many times that all my equipment was broken and then some before actually starting to analyze the variables behind my epic failure.

When I mentioned the internet connection, I took it for granted that people who know how to clean up their connection. Some suggestions are TURN OFF THE PRON, maybe reset your router, ask your lil brother/sister to stop illegal downloads or whatever.. things of that nature.

I got naked jumping to my death..after like an hour I managed to get by
