Anything other than Zerg PvP?

DeltaDude

Is there anything other than zerg pvp? I like this game, alot. This is my first time really exploring into the realm of the elder scrolls, I am even playing all the older games.

I am not asking for open world pvp but maybe some battlegrounds 4v4 or 8v8 which pinpoints objectives a bit more. Not saying to get rid of the AvAvA but would be nice to get some fair numbers and not have to run around for an hour to find a couple people only to end up ganking.

"some battlegrounds 4v4 or 8v8" no thanks. Not in this game please.

    Isn't all pvp zerging? 100 v 10? or in Wow 100 v 1..

Agree with OP. Love the game, but...if this zerg pvp is all there is...probably not renewing. I love it, but...It gets kinda old fast. Really would like something that enabled us to show case our skills, not who had the larger zergfest group.

Yes, there is. I was fishing in a river in cyrodiil near the 2 AD main keeps for about 10 minutes when another DC player snuck up on me and attacked. I incredibly barely survived despite the surprise sneak attack. There's more to PvP than zerg.

Yes defending and holding keeps require numbers.... but with all the quests in cyrodiil it really is what you make of it. I have a small group that hunt questers and mineral miners. Its fun. But the main ape t of this game is AvAvA just dont join the big battles and youll have a different experience.

Thanks for the suggestion. Honestly never thought of it from that point of view, as dumb as that sounds.

So, you are either in a zerg or getting ganked/ganking? Really fun.

I have just received a refund. Sadly I wish this game would explore more on its PvP elements as it has very good potential though.

Not all games need to be the same.
I am quite happy TESO having only AvAvA PvP.

This game just wasn't for you. Simple as that. And that's alright.
You are not suppose to like all games out there.

It's OWPvP, so the PvP is what YOU make of it.

You don't have to be part of an enormous zerg to be successful in Cyrodill.

One of my favourite tactics, is to go either solo or as a small group and cut off the enemy Zerg supply and gank people as they are travelling back to the battle.

Look at the map, and use your head a little. Be proactive in searching for the battles that you wish to participate in. As everyone can sneak, they can pick'n'choose what battles they wish to be part of...

Bottom line is, if you don't want to be part of a zerg... then don't. It really is that simple.

Arenas kill world pvp. They will never kill their game off for arenas.

Arenas do not kill PVP. Devs' work and players' attitude is what kills it, if anything.

Pretty much like saying that guns don't kill people, people kill people...

Whilst I agree with your post in essence, the fact remains that there isn't a game around where both Arena and OWPvP have both happily flourished together.

It wouldnt be just zerg pvp if they actually have more pve things in cyrodil. Its so much open space and very little in between.

Seems fine with me. I don't want small scale pvp because that ruins the balance of the game. When pvp nerfs happen that hurts pve.

I'd like small scale pvp. And quite a number of people do too. Also alot of people's pc's cant exactly handle having so many people on the screen at once.

So if large scale pvp is the only option. Not going to be much point.

A lot of people happy without it to be honest. The balance needed for it just causes more nerfs than not.

So i guess if small scale pvp does not happen, this game is not for them.

If small scale pvp does not happen. Then thats a problem.

As that was specifically advertised and what the purpose of the resource farms were supposed to be for.

And the pve aspects having the risk of pvp in them.

That disregards alot of things that are supposed to be together in Cyrodil. it is not supposed to be just large scale pvp in cyrodil. As that was what advertised and what brought alot of people into the game for the pvp to begin with. The options of not only large scale pvp.

I don't just do large scale, I gank..I quest and do things in it. Smaller scale pvp always ends up being a nightmare to balance. That is why I want a company to do the smart thing and stay away from it.

    Q) Why don't people check facts about a game before buying it?
    A) Because it's a lot more fun complaining and whining till they ever get what they want or leave

    lol this^

why do people complain about this, it was advertised on the fact it was huge alliance based battles, if you don't want to join a zerg, don't, there are many other options, yes you can gank, or i like to gank the gankers at times, its fun stealthing behind and waiting for someone to go for a lowbie and then pop out and take him down first.

I'm not saying there arent smaller scaled pvp battles. What Im saying is there isnt not enough incentive to do anything else BUT large scaled pvp battles as it was advertised.

theres not enough things inbetween the large open spaces to do pve stuff, also not enough creatures. There arent enough reasons to go small scale pvp because theres hardly few people wandering the wide open spaces, and when you do see someone, if they are at a distance, you are not catching them because the area is so large and fewer reasons to go stopping at anything (because theres few things to stop by unless you're a resource gatherer)

It kills it because unlike Mass PVP, individual pvp like in arenas, needs a lot of balancing otherwise the kids who usually like that kind of pvp start crying because they don't win.
And balance is bad, very bad, in any game

    War is always about numbers.

After the free month runs out and the people who rushed to VR5 get bored and quit, PvP battles should normalize.

    More isn't always better.

there's already a big thread on this subject. You probably should have added an opinion to that one instead of starting another. I will however say that while I greatly enjoyed the many hours I have spent in cyrodil, i would like to see some smaller scale objective based PvP brought in at some point.

As long as the rewards are purely cosmetic and have nothing to do with alliance points. They should be done for fun and maybe bragging rights if they add leaderboards.

Would also be nice if they made them like GW2 instanced pvp where it basically gives you a maxed out copy of your character with set PvP gear options available for free so the games are won and lost based purely on your (and your teams) build(s) and skill at the game.
