I downloaded and installed the latest patch and now I need to re-install the entire game. WTF. This patch process is screwed up.

Same here.
Downloaded 2 patches of around 40-50 MB each. Then said Repair.
I closed and reopened the launcher and now it says Install.

Any ideas...

It patches, then verifies, so maybe something didn't go well when you got the patch and the repair couldn't fix it.

Restarted the launcher and it is doing the same thing again...

I switched my client over to EU side and it seems to be properly patching on that side (I had both clients patch up previous to this patch). Hopefully when I switch back to US everything will be dandy? *crosses fingers*

Good job Zenimax. I forgot about the part of launch prep that said "make everybody either re-install (re-download as I am told I have to do when I press install) or ignore the launcher that should tell them to waste lots of time and internet usage"

In the beta, there was a bug with the same thing, the fix was;

Open the install folder (most often C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online)
Depending on the client that is installed (NA or EU), players should open the folder of the server they wish to play on

For NA server: C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client
For EU server: C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online EU\game\client

Locate and open the file titled eso.exe
If they choose to, players can now recreate a shortcut from that folder directly

Same thing has happened to me, and running that exe starts the game - not sure if it will patch though?

Please calm down, it is obvious something has gone wrong, we do not need to resort to bashing ZoS. For those of you who do not want to reinstall or can't you can still launch the game from folder:

"\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client"

You can create a direct shortcut to the "eso" file so that it can be done from launched from desktop.

This is not a launcher fix but a means to show you the game is still there and operational.

Lets just wait to see what ZoS says on the launcher bug shall we?

I already repaired, verified, and installed. My launcher is in a repair/verify/install loop and now downloading the game for the 2nd time.
