I just spend two hrs going from trader to trader to try and find the motif I needed for a master writ.

If we had an auction house it would have taken 30 seconds.

I truly hate the guild trader system, it seems designed to benefit certain guilds and be a pain for the rest of us.

I won't do that. If it's not available in Vivec at what I consider a reasonable price, I delete the writ.

I never delete them. I sell the ones I don’t have the motif for.

It's kind of hilarious and insane that the entire PC economy essentially relies on one guy keeping a 3rd-party website going FOR FREE.

I don't even know how console players do it. At least we have a website to check, rather than load-screening between dozens of locations just in hopes of finding what we need. I wouldn't play without addons; so massively appreciate all the volunteer devs that make them.

The website also covers console sales...

Come to console then we don't have market addons nor do people upload item prices to TTC. Give a quick search of the console section and you'll find it's as dead as a door nail because it has to be updated manually. There are people already in this thread that complain that the system is annoying to use on PC, console has none of the assistive tools.

There are times where we have to run to basically every single trader on the map especially in the case when looking for rarer items or ones that aren't often traded. I remember a couple years ago I had to go to every city that had traders looking for an arena gladiator helmet and didn't find a single one the whole time and I did this multiple times across multiple days. I also couldn't find anyone selling one on discord. It's annoying and it takes forever. I'm not going to join in on the argument on whether an auction house is the solution or not, but the guild trader system could definitely use some additional QoL.

Inflation is too steep as it is now.

this is 100% not true. there has been massive *deflation*.

i don’t want a centralized system either, but be honest about the current situation.

And yet the deflation has clearly not gone far enough if nobody is buying

I was going to say something but never mind.

Prices need to come down, and the few trader sites, and prices for the sites, are a big reason they are high. That is all.

I have previously been the top weekly seller in one of the top ~2 guilds in sales on PC/NA. I did it by undercutting everyone else in the guild on the best-selling mats, constantly. I farmed them up myself so it was all profit for me. No one ever even attempted to "set my prices". The idea that this is a thing is absurd.

I don't really expect anyone who is convinced otherwise to take my word for it, but I had to say it, for whatever little it may be worth.

You undercut your own guild members? I gave you an 'insightful' for that comment.
I can't be bothered to go back and see if you're one of the many complaining about relisting fees.

FWIW I purchase almost entirely from the guilds that I'm in.

I'm not tired of "the Player Market System" - I'm just tired of the players.

Yea but you are very grumpy, don't you think, really, in general?

Spot on, it only benefits the big cartels with the prime spots. It's certainly not a level playing field. On second thoughts, it also benefits ZOS who seems to want you to waste your valuable time chasing pointless objectives.

I 100% agree with this. While we are at it how about something better than only being able to send someone six items at a time via mail. Really six??

Yup. 6 isn't even enough to send a full set of newbie training gear to a friend.

Surely, upping the number of items allowed on 1 mail would use less server power than having to send multiple mails for everything?

I'm almost certain that if something like TTC were integrated into the game, bots would read the data from within the menu and scoop every good deal before any human could react, almost every single time.

Bots already do that to a point anyway. They can have a bunch of characters going all of the place (even on consoles) checking prices. Common players cannot so they get a leg up. That is why similar functionality should be in the game!

Sure, some do not like our trader system, and some would never like it because it is different from what they have had in other games. I expect Zenimax knew it would be the case and knows one cannot please everyone.

As I have said before, the current trading system is a product of how players themselves use or abuse the basic functions supplied by ZOS.

Virtually all problems with the current system are caused by players themselves.

The real problem that ZOS should address is the pathetic functionality of the default banking interface.
All users should have access to an interface that is at least as useful as Awesome Guild Store.

I agree. I have never played a top MMORPG with such a limited UI.

Someone told me that the buff/debuff tracker was not in the game when it launched and that the developers wanted us to get that information from the environment. That information in the environment is not reliable making it so we need something to track it. Even what they added is not as refined as the addons we have available on PC.

Considering how amazing aspects of the game are the limited UI surprises me to no end.

i do wish there was an NPC available that allowed you to search everything for sale so it was easier to find where its located, thats the main problem with the decentralized system is its harder to find what your looking for

but if we had some npc that we could search and see if an item was listed anywhere, we could then go find and buy it if there was only like 1 listing available, to prevent this from being abused it would not display prices, just the location of the item (zone-guild trader npc name)

even on PC we just have to go guild to guild, if TTC is not useable (for those who run an adblocker), and even then TTC still relies on manual uploads so even pc can have in-accurate or out of date listings if the listing is more than a couple days old
