I'm sorry you got criticized so harshly and that it keeps continuing in spite of our efforts to turn the focus of the thread around- I genuinely feel bad, because I see what your intentions were now, and I agree with you on many points.

Would you mind if I carried the small housing feedback I've been gathering for us all over into the housing forum and started a thread there? You are welcome to join in, I'll add your requests to the list I've been consolidating.
Sounds dramatic, but sometimes there's just no winning and people would rather point fingers than think, it's a very human thing.

I'd like to thank you, @Araneae6537 and @spartaxoxo especially, you're good folks. And absolutely, I'd be honored if you included mine too. Hope y'all enjoy. :D

I previewed the free house today. Am I missing something or is there no actual house?

Don't get me wrong, it's still interesting. A lot of people, including me, have asked for a cave which isn't a Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary (or that Craglorn one that's more of a large overhang), but the description and preview image made it look like there was a building too and unless I've somehow missed it I'm going to have to rethink how I use it.

I wish at least a couple of the Redoubt wall towers were accessible. *sigh*

Oh, I think the Dark Elf Ash Garden (if that's it's name, not in game right now) upside down might cover the "under the tent hole", so you could do something with a pillow-bedecked seraglio or whatever. I'm not sure I really want to mess with trying to get through the Galen storyline....

I'm actually doing a test build in the PTS utilizing the towers at the moment. The two largest towers in the main courtyard can be accessed by building a small stairway up from one of the side areas. There's nothing blocking the inside of the towers, and both can be walked in. I actually built a bridge between them and am planning on doing a whole build that includes them.

Its a shame there's no official stairway into them, but it's not out of bounds as a buildable area and there's a great view from them, so I couldn't resist doing a sky build.

The view from them is totally worth it! They're surprisingly easy to get into as well- I built stairs into the left tower. There's some rocks running along the side of the tower that are angled perfectly to lay stairs over. The area is accessible from a little garden-like area off to the side that has a tree planted in it.

I just -have- to go climbing to get into things like this. It's irresistible XD

Not quite. The doors aren't "interchangeable" - you exit to the zone you entered from regardless of door, at least that was my experience in the preview.

I’m not going to lie, I was expecting a corner closet, something I’d never use but this level of generosity from ZoS is something I was not expecting.

This free house is the size of a large delve and I’m shocked we got this for free

So thank you ZoS. I truly appreciate this

I love the new house! It has one of my favourite soundtracks in the game, which gives it such a calm atmosphere (aboveground, anyway). Thinking about it, I might need a desert resort...

Well, this property is the kind of place you'd be looking for if you were planning to spread out a ton of crafting tables but now that we have the master tables there's no need for a place of this size.

BTW, the first thing i did when i saw a massive well was jump in without looking just to see what would happen.

It's huge for sure and i love the underground space. When i get around to craftiing on my other toons it will be nice to have this to port to when i am gathering up sky shards and skill points and want a quick port to razaks wheel.

It's a great place for many uses. Def a new favorite for me and close to a wayshrine.

I don't know much about the housing system in the game but this does seem pretty generous of ZOS to offer a house of this caliber for free.

Just wish it wasn't in the middle of hostile territory. I transported into the house to have a look around then I exited the door and was immediately attacked by Imperials. Must be in a hostile city that is probably like Saintsport which is part of a quest.

It opens out of Satakalam. In Bangkorai, it's outside and to the west of Hallin's Stand. IIRC, the Bangkorai exit has no hostiles nearby (haven't checked thoroughly though); I expect to clear the hostiles in Satakalam you'd probably have to do the quest line there, and I'm not at all positive that would fix it either.

Yes, I exited on the Satakalam side of the home and was set upon by Imperials. I didn't want to fight them at the moment so I made my way to the Wayshrine and got out of there. There is another exit door in the house which must be the Bangkorai side of it.

I can confirm that the imperials disappear and are replaced by normal citizens if you complete the side quest there. So if you really like the house and dislike being attacked by them, that is also an option.

Additionally, the Twin Arches house is literally right outside the backdoor of the house (in Bangkorai). And Hallin's Stand wayshrine in Bangkorai is only a stone's throw away, so those are other options if you want to avoid the Alik'r entrance.

I've been excited to see the new house since it was announced and it's really fantastic, thank you! The lighting in the caverns is amazing, it almost invites you to turn it into a “spa” or some kind of Tamriel-wellness center. :)

there are two entrances.. i'm guessing you used the exit that leads into the city. I ported in and appeared by the entrance with the stairs. There's an exit with a wooden door though also. on the opposite side of the property.

ok so one exit goes into bankorai and the other goes to alikr and in each case it's close to the public dungeons. Very cool.

i thought the hostile city would have been hollins stand. also a city with hostile imperials btw.

    SAFETY FIRST

Unfortunately falling into the mine can be detrimental to one's health with death as a possible outcome.

The Health & Safety officials from both Alikr & Bankorai wanted to shutter the house unless suitable measures were taken.

Solution: Put a grating over the hole (Apocrypha Platform, Large). This also allows one to peek into the mine without falling in. All's well that ends well.

For one, it is now a direct link between Alik'r and Bangkorai
