The New (free) House is Ridiculously Beautiful

Yeah - every time I'm running around High Isle I "drop in" on Erlibru just to refresh my memory about how truly lovely, how perfect it is.

It truly is the only small home in the entire game in which I would ever be interested. And I don't want to "furnish it my way". I want it just like it exists right now.

I previewed the free house today. Am I missing something or is there no actual house?

Don't get me wrong, it's still interesting. A lot of people, including me, have asked for a cave which isn't a Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary (or that Craglorn one that's more of a large overhang), but the description and preview image made it look like there was a building too and unless I've somehow missed it I'm going to have to rethink how I use it.

    The name definitely fits.

It definitely gives that temporary home kind of feel, especially being in between Alik'r and Bangkorai and the cave system. It definitely comes across, to me at least, as the sort of place I'd bring a few survivors for a days rest before moving on to the permanent settlement.

Really loving the housing suggestions we've got going here! So far we've got:

    - Hunter's House (a crafting station area which contains Stuhn's Favor set) (Wolf_Eye)

    zK4kktc.png
    u91mhQw.png

    - Buildings in towns where the doorway is blocked (such as some of the homes in Windhelm) (SilverBride and Desiato)
-Erlibru's Cottage in High Isle (TaSheen)

-Cottage in Skyrim (Located south of Deepwood Vale) (ArchangelIsraphel/Me)
    Aiuwtj5.png

    1Gh0OW1.png

    kZste7y.png

    t99eiNq.png

    - A smaller vessel similar to the Fair Winds, A small house in Seyda Neen and a house made of books in Cipher's Midden would probably be my top 3 requests. (Shagreth)

I'm thinking I'll consolidate some of the suggestions to make them easy for the devs to find/see. I'll keep adding things to the collective list. There's some great ideas here we should definitely push for the dev's to look into.

ETA: Added screenshots for houses we didn't have screenshots for yet under spoiler tags!

I previewed it this morning too.

Putting aside the proper rooms and just considering the cave, it gave me a sense of being a series of distinct rooms, albeit open and separate.

And I got a similar vibe to Hall of the Lunar Champion Lunar Cradle (house on the hill). If those ragged wooden boards and poles can be hidden inside nicer floors and stairs then it could be transformed into a seriously luxurious space.

    I succeeded with that house.

The zoo in the basement is very interesting. So far I've seen a couple of Dunerippers, the smaller version and one Tremorscale sized. I've also seen a flock(?) of lightning bugs. And a wolf that plays with the smaller Dunerippers and howls when his Duneripper friend goes underground.

I've always wanted a small Orc home in Wrothgar.

But I'll certainly take a free Redguard mansion.
I've hoped for one in Orsinium for some time, I love that place. But the only housing in Wrothgar is out in the middle of nowhere.

There are two houses in Wrothgar. Did you mean that both are out in the middle of nowhere? Because one is very conveniently near to some guild traders plus the questgiver for the daily delve quests. But, yes, the other is out in the middle of nowhere.
The only 2 I know of are Forgemaster Falls (near Morkhul Stronghold) and Pariah Pinnacle (near Maelstrom Arena). Is there another?

Those are the two I was referring to. Pariah Pinnacle is indeed out in the middle of nowhere, but I was saying that (IMHO) Forgemaster Falls is not. Neither are in Orsinium, where you said you'd love to have a house, but when you said "the only housing in Wrothgar is out in the middle of nowhere" I wasn't sure whether you were unaware of Forgemaster Falls (which I do not think is "in the middle of nowhere") or whether you did know of it but don't consider Morkhul Stronghold-- with its Guild Traders, daily delve quest giver, Mages Guild, Fighters Guild, crafting stations, Pack Merchant, and Stablemaster-- to be of any consequence. "The only housing" doesn't specify a number, and works equally well for one house or two, hence my uncertainty about whether you knew about Forgemaster Falls.

      Yes.

Not quite. The doors aren't "interchangeable" - you exit to the zone you entered from regardless of door, at least that was my experience in the preview.

Isn’t that what happens when you preview any house that you do not own? Leaving it always returns you to the zone you entered from. Or was this the case on the PTS?

That's because you were previewing the house. Regardless where or how you exit, you return to the exact same spot when you leave.

After you own the house, that mechanic is no longer applied. Then if you exit through the Bangorkai door, you'll be in Bankorai, even if you entered from Alik'r.

Ah. I seldom preview houses, so wasn't aware of that fact. Besides I think there's only one other house "across" two zones - Sweetwater Cascades maybe? - and I don't own that one. Too much else to do with IRL money when it's been on the store.

Sorry for mistake, and thanks for info!

Can we hope there's no sandstorms in this one?

I thought I noticed that when previewing Fogbreak Lighthouse - I really like the homes which straddle two zones! I wanted to get it, but couldn't when it was offered. Hopefully I'll be able to when it comes back around for sale.

Speaking of sailing, the FairWinds allows you to exit into four different zones. Leaving the home takes you to Galen (if you own the DLC) and then using the ships wheel allows you to exit into Vulkhel Guard, Davon's Watch, or Daggerfall Harbor.

See, that's another one that was a victim of necessary home repairs etc. Ah well.... if nothing else breaks and it comes back soon.... Though I did just run through/preview it, and it might be an issue with décor....
