Thanks so much, ZOS!

More small & medium houses in the future would be nice though.

I suspect that there'll be more focus on preparing plalyers to being able to furnish the home, culminating in July which is slated to have an update specifically designed for the Housing System. How that will manifest, >shrug< no idea. But I suspect it will have ties to resource acquisition and furnishing slots (just a guess).

Agreed. But it's the eso forums and ridiculous complaints is what we do!

I think the daily reward house is great, especially for the price.

Small, cozy houses are dirt cheap. I suggest the Cyrodilic Jungle House for only 71k!

I don't deny that it can be a challenge, but it is possible to furnish this game's most enormous homes well within the limits, even unsubscribed.

You have to make the most of larger furnishings and remove / don't use anything small and low impact.

Achieve a look you're happy with. Then use up the remaining slots with strategically placed smaller items.

I'm looking forward to getting my hands on this one.

A small house in Seyda Neen, a cozy house in the dunes of Alik'r or perhaps one of those amazing looking houses made of books in Apocrypha (Cipher's Midden) or perhaps a small vessel that sails the sea much like the Fair Winds (emphasis on small) personally I'd take one of these over this monstrosity any day. Does it look bad? No, on the contrary, but how many people (even those that consider housing their endgame) will manage to furnish it? Very few.

I've said it before, less is more, take it easy, furnishing a smaller house is a more enjoyable experience for the majority of the playerbase. So TLDR: give us more small & medium homes, please. I will be very unhappy if the housing update doesn't include a wave of new smaller homes along with some cool feature like planting herbs etc.

    @ZOS_Kevin @ZOS_GinaBruno

They are giving away what would likely be a 14k crown house to you for logging in 3 days in May and complain about it being too big?

    Really?

It's probably the most low effort housing reward we have ever gotten.

I for one am grateful even if I end up just using it for storage

Smaller houses are also cheaper, so easier to buy with gold or crowns. I'd rather be given a very expensive item for free. I was seriously contemplating buying this house (way before I found out it would be a daily reward). Where you and I agree is that the game does indeed need more smaller houses. I don't know where you got the data on smaller houses being more enjoyable for the majority, but the truth is they feel different than huge houses, so they satisfy different needs. I've seen breathtaking creations on smaller houses and I quite like the swamp tower I built at the Exorcised Coven Cottage. Why is it that for years new houses have been for the most part notable and the rest classics?

Don't need Yoututube. You can preview it in game. Just go to Satakalaam Wayshrine in Alik'r Desert, and go North until you run into it on the eastern mtn range.

Just my opinion and I've been away for a bit but as I recall, they tried to answer this demand with homes like Lucky Cat Landing which isn't terrible, but style wise is extremely niche.

Unless you especially love that style, why would you spend real money on it when the game is full of medium and small houses which can be bought with in game earned game gold?

Their only other medium sized is Frostvault Cavern. Again, very niche taste-wise.

    https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Player_Housing

Personally I'm happy to go big and for them to keep releasing big crown store homes, but I wonder if they might have misinterpreted poor sales for those smaller homes as being due to their size, rather than their style.

Something else to consider is that just because it's big doesn't mean one needs to decorate the entire space. One can setup a nice cozy area around the entrance and even wall off the rest if they feel it's necessary.

A guild I'm in did that for the Grand Psijic Villa. It looks great and is highly functional.

With homes like these, you can section off part of it or utilize larger furnishings. There are several smaller houses that I like, but my favorites (besides the building plots), are Sweetwater Cascades, Varlaisvea, and Bastion Sanguinaris. For Varlaisvea, I do not want a cluttered look, but want the focus on the dramatic lighting and statues. For Bastion Sanguinaris, part of the building felt awkward so I just blocked it off so I can focus on bookshelves and gardens.

It's definitely possible to furnish the larger ones within the existing limit... although another 100 traditional furnishing slots would be sorely welcomed. For instance, with Princely Dawnlight Palace, I spent around half my traditional slots building docks out into the bay. So now instead of wide steps leading off into the ocean for some silly reason, the palace has a large working dock bustling with cargo, NPCs, and the occasional crab. Only afterwards did I focus on the palace itself. Sure, I'd like to have more clutter, but it's all about balance.

I feel more of what you're trying to convey is "make smaller, cozier houses available" which I agree to.

If you're ACTUALLY MEANING "stop giving me THE BEST STUFF and instead give me the cheaper crap we should be able to buy with gold" then I strongly disagree.

You're welcome. Sorry it's not to your tastes with its undergroundishness.

But I think for most people because of their cost - in game and the real world - houses really have to tick every good box and none of your bad ones to pass muster.

There aren't many in the game that do that for me.

I've only just recently played through Blackreach and am still gobsmacked by those maps. Seeing this and with all that water as well, this strikes me as a good potential home for my Argonians.

Also Khajiit but they've already got the Lunar Hall.

If you are not capable of furnishing a large house... not everyone is like you!!! Many, however, are very happy to have a large space to furnish, for example I already have a wonderful idea in mind for how I will decorate the future magnificent free house. This is a clever idea on how to keep the majority of players happy. I'm sorry for those few who aren't...

I never seriously considered buying it but did a preview tour just to have walked around in it and yeah those stairs also struck me as an interesting design choice.

I think it might be realistic. It brings to mind images / videos I've seen with people washing clothes in rivers or where baptisms are performed.

This could be a more upmarket equivalent.

I'm surprised and glad they're letting us just have that house. That said, omg yes please more SMALLER houses. Also, a new class of house, Tiny. It will be the size of an apartment with the same furnishing limit but be out in the wild, like a small cave off a waterfall or a little island in the middle of a river, a hole in the wall of a ruin, etc.
