Take server down before event ends?

Tomorrow, April 25 beginning at 6am EDT, we’ll be taking the PC NA megaserver offline for maintenance. During this time, we’ll be restoring affected PC NA accounts back to their state from Monday, April 15 at 9:30am EDT.
Once PC NA maintenance concludes by 2pm EDT, anyone currently with a locked account due to the PTS issue last week, on any server, will once again have access to their accounts. You will also receive an email once your account is unlocked.

Why are we doing this a couple hours before the end of the event????

@ZOS_GinaBruno You really should extend the event at least another day. This means that when I get my account back, the event will be over. What if I wanted to buy things from the Impresario?

We got yesterday and today for the downtime on Monday. Since moving reset to whatever arbitrary time in the morning (instead of midnight EST), the last “day” has been pretty pointless and I’ve wondered why ZOS didn't decide to make events also end with reset so they could do maintenance at the end without protest.

The problem isn't that the maintenance starts right when the final day of the event starts.

That’s a good point. The Impressario and other vendors should stick around at the least for those who haven’t had access.

I get that, but it's extremely pointless to extend the event to 9:59AM EST and then take the server down several hours before this.

I'd normally be annoyed about losing any opportunity to participate in the last day of the event, but honestly I'm delighted that the worst event since I started playing ESO in 2019 is finally over.

With what event tickets? We missed two dozen tickets that ZOS isn't bothering to compensate us for.

arent the players whove been locked out already getting a whopping 16k endeavours, the jubilee horse, AND literally all the replica style pages? can those players not just sit tight for a couple more hours so everyone else on pcna can get their tickets?

PLEASE ZOS. Don't delay the maintence, extend the event by -maybe- one day but if you can't then don't delay. we have been locked out for DAYS. its only fair we get let out asap, thank you, thank you.

NO. those do not matter, we have been locked out for DAYS. We deserve to be let back in asap.

You would have those locked out wait longer? Just for a few more hours of an event already extended more than a day to make up for lost time the previous Monday? That hardly seems right.

Hmm. That's unfortunate. When we got the extra two days, I adjusted my ticket spend plan around getting those last three tickets and final confetti tomorrow morning.

Also; we may or may not know this might be the ONLY time they can do it on thursday, and they might not be able to do it on friday for...whatever reason so i dont want zos put off at all i just wanna play the game finally, thank you zos for keeping thuirsday, truly thank you.

I absolutely understand the frustration of being locked out and I'm happy they're finally get around to unlocking the remaining accounts, I am simply trying to understand their thinking on this and why they wouldn't just announce an additional extension of the event. It just seems really weird to extend it and then take the server down when it chops a day off that extension. And I definitely feel the locked out accounts deserve to be given event tickets for the time they've missed.

Great, this is turning into yet another "us vs. them" thing, with people upset that this maintenance will cost them the final day of the event, and of course the locked players are in no mood to entertain the idea of any additional delays.

All this acrimony could be avoided easily if ZOS just extends the event one more day. So people don't lose the last day. And we who were locked can actually interact with the event--however briefly--after the lockout ends.

The event really needs to be extended one more day @ZOS_GinaBruno.

If possible, maybe just extend the event a tiny bit more. Then people don't have to be upset about losing out on the last day AND people who are (hopefully) getting their accounts restored will have a day to use any tickets they have if they didn't manage to buy something they wanted yet.

Wondered exactly this when I read the post. No, I don't think locked out players should wait any longer.

But what was the point of extending the event if the last day is not even playable? Many of us care more about the boxes than anything else, why not extend the event until Friday so that the released prisoners can also at least have a day to get some loot?

if zos really wants to make it up to us. Extend it by the amount of days we have been locked out been like...10-12 days now, i have lost track at this point. Atleast at the bare minimum over the weekend, just DO NOT DELAY THE MAINTENCE AND UNLOCKING OF OUR ACCOUNTS, please ZOS!!

This is insane. I can't think of a maintenance plan so well thought out that it would make all the players angry. Everyone lost what they could have had.
