Zos doesn’t answer to you. The company does business clearly the way they want to. This event was already extended, and not for those that had locked accounts (because we are still in zos jail while you all played your little hearts out) — this extension benefited the people who are now complaining that they are being shorted 4 or 6 hours.

Stop complaining. Be happy with the time you were given and the loot you acquired.

@ZOS_GinaBruno You really should extend the event at least another day. This means that when I get my account back, the event will be over. What if I wanted to buy things from the Impresario?

It doesn't even solve the problem of us being out of event tickets in the first place; I don't even have the event tickets I normally would have to buy the things I want.

First off, I'm not complaining. I'm asking for an explanation. If you think it's OK for them to say they're extending the event by two days and then they suddenly do something that changes it to one day without explanation, it's NOT.
Second, every single person who plays this game has the right to question anything they want to. Absolutely nothing about any of this is fair to anyone, including the people who got locked out. Every. Single. Event. Keeps getting messed up. EVERYONE has the right to be upset.

Again this us versus them thing. Extending the event because of a few hours of emergency maintenance but not because of people unable to play for over a week was ZOS's decision. In my view, an odd one, considering it's easier to catch up to hours or a day of missed gameplay than 10 days. The right thing to do would have been to extend it for the benefit of everyone, including the locked out people.

You have as much right to complain about being unable to play as others have of missing tickets. They're both valid complaints and not mutually exclusive. A longer extension would allow everyone to get their tickets and locked out players to actually take part in the event again. ZOS is making both groups unhappy by not doing that, so why don't we focus on them instead of arguing among ourselves?

    Edit: minor correction.

ZOS does in a way answer to the player base as a whole. Without players there would be no game.

Restore the locked accounts tomorrow, extend event to Monday, when you can shut down event because you'll be doing maintenance anyway.

You are preventing locked accounts from getting access to Impresario. You are messing up the ticket spending plans people made when you said event would go to 10am on Thursday. You may have extended the event by "2 days" but you only extended it by 1 days worth of tickets. This was poorly thought out at best and purposefully misleading at worst. Why has the company been so stingy during what was supposed to be a grand celebration of 10 years of ESO?

Taking away the last extended day of the event just the day before the end after first giving it to us is just a rotten cherry on top of a very, very, very bad anniversary cake. I feel for those that incorporated this into their plans for tickets and for the mount with the “smear” on its rump.

    But do they do though?

They answer to their investors and the person who runs their show is not likely to be the head of customer service either. As a business they also can’t pander to the wishes of their player base — mainly because every single player has their own opinion and there is absolutely no way zos will make all of its players happy — look at the storm caused simply by the compensation offered. We also don’t run their company. We know nothing about their inner workings, PR, marketing, support, infrastructure. At the end of the day, what any company should be expected to do is what is best for their business — whatever that may be. That is simply the actual reality.

Someone made a post about communication from zos in response to a post on Twitter by Gina. It’s an excellent read. Empathy. If people, companies included, applied it, this whole world would be different. Alas, companies worry about the bottom line.

I have to agree that those locked out deserve to be allowed back onto the game as per currently scheduled.

The right thing for Zos to do is to do what others have already suggested...extend the Event at least until the Monday maintenance happens so those who were locked out can experience at least a bit more of it and so those who had planned their tickets around the event not ending until tomorrow can still get whatever it was they were after.

Otherwise, a lot of people, not only those who were locked out, are going to be walking away from this event with a very bad taste in their mouth.

I seriously think the above is going to be the only viable solution the majority of this community will accept at this point.

you know, I get it. people who have been locked out are impatient to get back in. BUT YOU HAVE ALREADY BEEN WAITING FOR DAYS. a few more hours will not make the same difference to you vs pcna players who will be missing out a day worth of tickets AND jubilee packs, so technically TWO days worth of tickets since that last missing pack would have to be purchased from a vendor.

so you know what? I'm going to say it. YOU. are being selfish right now. yes YOU. not players who would like to have those 4 measly hours to finish the event.

but... if we are being real - the blame lays with ZoS. both for scheduling maintenance to start precisely at the same time as the event resets - but more so, for that change they made originally when dailies reset at a different time for US vs NA. with old reset timers? WE WOULDN"T BE HAVING THIS ISSUE.

I was not locked out of the game but, in my opinion, getting those locked out of the game back in the game as soon as possible must be the primary consideration.

I had planned to finish the event with 12/12 tickets but the short notice maintenance tomorrow morning means I'll finish with 9/12. Another one day extension would be appropriate and welcome if it can be done without delaying getting locked out players back in the game.

6 out of 12 for me and many others like me, because WE counted on those dailies to get the last jubilee pack WE needed to complete the horse.

extending event by another day seems like the only solution that would please the most people.

Absolutely terrible take and I would be embarrassed to say I wrote that. Players have missed ten/11 days of event and tickets and you are going to call them selfish? Oversight most likely. They are probably all-hands-on-deck with trying to fix those accounts. They said Thursday would be maintenance prior to now too iirc.

Hindsight is 20/20. Given the circumstances, I think their best course of action is just give another day to PC.

This is small fry compared to those people who are still locked out.

But maintenance occurs during Asia-Pacific primetime. Basically every time there's maintenance, we don't play the game that day.
So we subscribe for ESO+ and pay for a month but we typically lose 4 days. But when maintenance is bad, we can easily lose a week or more. So basically we pay full price for 3/4 of the full product.

    Oof.

Look how upset you are with 4 missed hours of an *extension*. Now imagine 10+ days.

There's no need to beat on the people who were locked out. If takes losing four hours of the *extended* event to get them back in 4 hours sooner, that's not a sacrifice I have any issue with.

There are questions to be asked of ZOS, though (and if they were answered with today's announcement, that would have been super helpful).

    Like:
What is the reason the locked out players are being blocked from participating in the finale of the event?
What is the reason, once you knew their return date & time, you couldn't add on a bit more event time?
Do you have plans to offer additional time at some future point?

Call me naieve (and I know a lot of you will and you ain't wrong 🤣) but there has got to be a reason they chose these specific, out of the ordinary times, and to take back some of the promised extension. I don't believe this was some intentional punishment or random "oopsie".

It's yet another thing, in a series of things, where some clarity would go a long way instead of allowing it to fester on the forums (and subject the locked out players to any further abuse.)

    Just sayin...

When they take down the server before the reset, and the event is over when the server comes back up, that's a day of missed tickets and other items that would have been included in the extra day we were to be given. It's not like you can endlessly farm tickets. Two days of the event is two days of the event. Essentially, we were given one. With no reason given as to why they decided to change this.

    Just sayin...

for PC players - its losing out on a full day.

you were given a free account to earn boxes on. yes it takes a little bit of time to get a character to level 6 to start earning boxes - but its not THAT much time. they said we were getting 2 extra days. a lot of us budgeted for those 2 days. losing this one day means losing this last day = losing last jubilee pack box AND 3 tickets it takes to buy one from a vendor.

moreover - compensation package you all are getting? is pretty darn good. like... I almost WISHED I went to PTS and lost acess to my main account, JUST to get that package.

I'm hoping that this was an opsie that they forgot to consider. I'm hoping this means they extend the event by another day. I'm hoping that they are NOT intentionally taking back a day they promised from PC NA players ONLY.
