Maintenance for the week of January 6:
· [COMPLETE] NA megaservers for maintenance – January 8, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 8:00AM EST (13:00 UTC)

At this point it would be nice to get ESO+ for the alt accounts we were issued so we could at least do things on them. While I would put in the time, and I know my group would help, to make a character with the bare minimum to play with them, I don't currently have access to the dungeons needed to get equip....

Clearly, this isn't a priority for them. If it was, they would've delayed the console maintenance for this.

"It won't be until Thursday because we have these other unrelated things that we have to do." Okay, I get that. But that also means that those other things have higher priority, which means that this is NOT a priority issue for them.

I don't care what empty platitudes they have to offer: unless they're dropping everything else to get this fixed, this isn't a priority. Period.

To be entirely fair to ZOS, the console maintenance is pretty urgent from what I've heard about the severe crashing issues they're experiencing. What is wild to me is that they don't have the manpower to do both.

Exactly, so much for 'all hands on deck working around the clock'

The console patch might be urgent, but the stuff in today's PC clearly wasn't. Going by the few changes listed in the patchnotes.

I'm mostly annoyed by the way they are stringing us along by postponing the date with each post...

i mean...it's clearly not...how many people are locked? Couple hundred? Lets go high and say a thousand? How many people play on consoles? How much % of the pc populaiton is affected? 1%? 5%?

What i find funny is how, in the end, we are not playing anymore of the anniversary event. They extended it to the 25th and now, 7 days later, they are saying we MIGHT get our account back on the 25th lol

So the event will last for 21 days (with the extended days) and we will miss 50% of it. Thats 27-30 event tickets and god knows how many boxes. I personally dont even grind the event too hard but i know some people who are livid they are missing out the biggest event of the year + extra salt for being a marked anniversary.

    Its a disaster.

My guess is that it is more likely they don't have the manpower to handle any catastrophic issues that could occur with both happening at the same time. Not necessarily a problem if both console maintenance goes well and the account maintenance goes well.

Plus, if they try to do both, and something happens with console, and suddenly consoles are all down with resources split between projects, that is a much larger risk than a smaller subset of players not having accounts for another day.

I don't know that the same people responsible for maintenance are also responsible for fixing the account issues. Also, I wonder if having the event finally finished on the PC has anything with the Thursday date.

And I also wonder how in the hell anyone came up with the original 2-3 day time frame for a fix.

Having your accounts locked for over a week is really bad. No one should have to go through that.

At this point, I'd suggest they strongly consider bringing Jubilee back for ~10 days later in the year and when they do that, maybe loosen up those Style Page drop rates. Wins all around.

I am so angry I pre purchased Gold Road and I wish I could get it refunded.

I literally bought it as I logged into PTS. Coming back after a break was feeling good to get back into the game. Then 10 minutes later I ended up banned. Now it's minimum 10 days. I feel like a sucker for buying it that is for sure.....

I've basically only been playing on PTS at this point. The takes from people that "well you should just use that free account they gave you to farm the event" are just so frustrating. They've clearly never been faced with starting from scratch and how much is just not accessible in those early stages. I've been playing since beta. If I don't get my account back, I would never start over, I would literally just quit the game.

However, a week ago on Monday, ZOS assumed that ZOS would be able to check the blocked accounts individually.
and have refrained from a complete server rollback.
Despite the fact that they are busy with Gold Road on the current PTS.

As the person affected, you can no longer have any understanding.

No matter what ZOS does, the whole thing was a PR disaster. It's just a question of how big.

Just as a note, it is not guaranteed that the accounts will be unblocked on Thursday. But just that this is the earliest point in time.

I bet 50k gold ingame on EU on Wednesday or Thursday it will be called. Sorry...the next time is Monday.

The absolute minimum needed to make the account usable is ESO+.

I have been trying to farm boxes and already had to borrow gold just to have some inventory space, but it's half what it would have on plus and then less again due to no mount training. Then the event boxes spam endless mats, which while having ESO+ I love, I can't put anywhere without it.

I also could have made a basic 160CP character by now (I have friends willing to help me level fast) and farmed a couple sets to still be able to run trials with my group. Yes, I'd be way weaker, but they would be fine with it (they've confirmed this). The problem is I don't have access to the dungeons for the equip I would need!

I told myself I could just start a new housing project on PTS to later reconstruct on live servers only to realize that that's pretty much impossible now due to PTS crowns not refreshing daily and crafting furnishings being an absolute nightmare due to the missing crafting bag.

I really don't wanna start a brand new character on the live servers as without the crafting bag, mount upgrades and the absolute inability of picking up anything without tipping over is just gonna drain the fun out of things.
Man, I forgot how every single aspect of this game is made worse for the sake of selling the solution in expensive little packages. Ain't no way I'm gonna spend a single dime on this second account just to enjoy playing the game.

I'll stick to Skyrim and keep hoping that my account will be in good shape once I get it back....

How about just extending the Jubilee starting on the 25th - add another week or maybe two weeks? Assuming the locked accounts are actually restored on the 25th (please please please), then they would have the chance to earn tickets/purple boxes as well as buy the cake slices for the achievement, buy cake furnishings/fragments, and utilize that extra XP.

At the same time, greatly increasing the drop rate for the highly sought after style pages to help ease the frustration for players missing style pages despite grinding for them, while providing a few more days to collect.

Wins all around! Then at last, perhaps peace and genuine Jubilee celebration.

I have a second account (purchased quite a few chapters ago, right before I quit for awhile) that I just started playing with sometime just before anniversary event. It definitely can be frustrating due to inventory issues particularly. You get 60 slots to start for bag and 60 for bank. It's a decent amount of gold to upgrade both and you don't want to do the first level until you get the level up reward for each. My situation is partially mitigated by having a personal guild bank I can throw stuff into but even with that, space is tight. And it's not like they gave y'all ESO+ on the new accounts, afaik. So yeah, completely understand. On one hand, having a new account may feel fresh, but if you're trying to specifically farm as much as you can during the event, there's a lot you're going to struggle with.

This many days in and the "earliest" keeps getting pushed further and further back, meanwhile even the extended event will be over by the time Thursday maintenance is over and accounts are given back, IF they are at that time. I'd be so beyond frustrated at this point and I feel for anyone affected by this. I feel for you all.

Actually going to disagree with this. I think it would be an awful idea at the moment due to the amount of burned out players. Whether you are locked out like me or just on your 500th geyser. I don't think it is a bad idea if it were done as a make up event later in the year but let's not extend this event any more than it currently is.

I was able to get the account they gave us to have 9 writ crafting characters - but that's because I already have an alt account that had the resources on it that I could give to the new account lol. Without the existing alt account, that would be awful to set up, especially with no craft bag (I am able to store excess mats in a personal guild bank that I have), and would take 3x as much time.

At this point, I'm sure the only thing a majority of the people affected are really upset about is the loss of the purple boxes. For me personally, I'm missing out on ~1600 boxes on my main account - which at the rate that was dropping for me, is around 300-350 dragon rheum and a couple of dust :'(. I've no idea if they could extend the event for the people affected, but that would be great and is, personally, the only compensation I would really want.

I have no envy for the devs right now. They already have a thankless job and this has just made it so much worse. Of course, if they aren't able to give us back our accounts at all, for whatever reason, the uproar will not be salvageable.

This is the exact reason I suggested "later this year". Fix the locked accounts. Get Gold Road launched successfully, then take another stab at a drama-free Jubilee Part 2 later this year. (Maybe don't launch a PTS during that time!)

Loosen up the Style page drop rates at that time (or provide some other easier way to obtain). Those who did the megagrind will have had months of "exclusive" time to show off their spoils.

The problem is that they always have scheduled maintenance going on. If they're going to push this back for every maintenance then Thursday/Friday are the only days they can do this. That means they have to review every account that was affected, ensure that everything that might have been deleted has been restored, and anything wrongly duplicated has been removed. I have a sinking feeling that they won't be able to do all of that by this Thursday, though am super happy to be wrong.

So that means Thursday or Friday of *next* week. If we're lucky. And so far we haven't been.
