I'm so shocked sometimes by the entitled, self-indulgent members of this community.
Today I was on a level 45 ult account, trying to do my pledges.
As it happens I have not completed the quest for Banished Cells 1. So upon starting the run I grouped messaged that I was doing the quest and expected the group to just wait so I could collect it...but oh no.... here we go the 1600+ cp run off..
I expressed my frustration to be told that they were limited for time and if I didn't like it I could "leave".
Personally I always make a conscious effort to accommodate low level players, especially when they state they are doing the quest.
I'm just so astounded by the rudness of some players.
It's a shame that some people are like this.. God knows what they're like in the real world
Is it really that hard for people to wait 30 seconds?!?!?

I mean, they probably feel like you were rude and entitled too for expecting them to slow down for you.
yea it is very frustrating that so many people are like thatI'm so shocked sometimes by the entitled, self-indulgent members of this community.

quests are a part of dungeons.
it isn't rude or entitled to want people to wait at a quest objective for a little bit and not abandon a group member.
Obviously you have never used the Group Finder tool for specific Normal dungeons.
In my experience I have waited for over an hour for anyone to apply...
In this case its so much quicker and successful to queue for specific dungeon.

I always wait when asked, personally.
That said, I always cringe when I get Banished Cells on a new toon as after the third keeper it makes you wait a good 2 minutes for the NPCs to slowly walk into the room and become interactable before you can move on to the kinlord. God forbid you want to listen/read the dialogue, too. Half the time the group have almost finished the boss fight by the time I get down there.

I agree with you. I always wait for someone doing the quest. Always. When I queue for a random normal I expect lowbies to be running the dungeon(s). There definitely needs to be a way to deal with this. ZOS should make a "Speed Runner" random dungeon selection for those that want to burn through a dungeon.

They DID say at the beginning, in response to the OP asking them to go slow so he could do the quest.
They told him they didn't want to wait.
He was the odd man out in that run; majority is the rule when you choose to play with John J. Rando.

That said, it doesn't violate any rules or terms of service for all three of them to proceed as they want.
Best thing to do if you need a quest for the non dlc dungeons is to group up with people that also need the quests or are willing to wait for you and queue manually in.
I also feel that people wanting to speed run the dungeons do the same.
ZOS doesn't just need to release a statement, they need to fix this issue in-game ASAP!GuuMoonRyoung wrote: »The replies in this thread are reason enough for ZOS to come out and make a clear official statement regarding dungeon finder etiquette. I really hated how FF14 and then WoW and several other mmorpg devs came out and made solid statement about expected player behavior in dungeon. But now I can see why they did, ESO is one of the most horrendous place for new players to experience a dungeon and even for veteran players who just want to take it slow and easy and there is no solution in sight to this problem.
Can remember that I have once been in a group with somebody that did that, and everyone agreed(including me, because the other three player were fine with it). So in those cases it is fine. The problem is, there is no way to stop someone who is forcing a speedrun or their fake role upon others. And that is what needs to be stopped by ZOS. I'd be fine with it if everyone who wanted to speedrun could still speedrun, just as long as they are not negatively impacting other players with it.I actually see the opposite. I get in the instance, say hello to everyone, ask "speedrun?". Nobody says a single word. Then I proceed to dash to the objective bosses (I make sure I do the quest objectives even if no one says anything).
People will not type a single word in the chat. I'm absolutely ok if people don't want to speedrun. But then... say it.
I got kicked of a group recently in a situation like this. I present myself, say "speedrun?", nobody replies, I dash to the objectives and tell them "skip these, they are optional", they still don't answer; then I got kicked out of the dungeon by the final boss.
So yes some people are not polite. The chat is there to be used...

However, I would like to offer that I really wish people would not hold such a harsh attitude going in to these things towards those of us who might have our own reasons for not wanting to wait for someone.
