It's not permanent.
Unless they provide an estimated time for a fix it effectively is.

Temporary is for a limited amount of time. Nothing in that definition says there needs to be an end date specified.

...You have million of golds but cant buy nothing...

The crown store is so ridiculously expensive so those honest players now have no way of getting most of the only cool things in the game. Wasn’t the last patch meant to “improve life” in ESO or something? How the hell isn’t this announcement incredibly ironic?
There are so many solutions to this. A few of which are:
1. Allow items from the crown store to be bought with by gold at a reasonable ratio. Say, 1500:1 or something.
2. Make daily endeavors count for WAY MORE and allow us to buy crown store items with endeavors.
3. Or what someone else said: “lock crown gifting to accounts that have been active and in good standing for say 6 months and are cp level 500 for example. It creates enough of a barrier where even if you get a fraudster, when they get banned it would take so much time and effort to get another account up and running it just wouldn't be worth the time investment.”
IMHO, they’re doing this to ensure that people use real money to buy items. That isn’t okay. What’s the point anymore? I can’t think of a way more perfect way to make sure people spend their cash in the crown store than this.

I've purchased way more in game with gold than crowns. Almost all of my houses were purchased with gold, and furnishings and mats to craft furnishings.
I do hope they get gifting back up and running soon but crowns are not the only way players buy things.
Exactly this. Joke's on ZOS if they think this will increase crown sales.IrisDupree wrote: »I mean if they are trying to kill the crown store sales this is an excellent way to go about it. I personally cannot drop 70-100 dollars on a house even once a year. But I have friends who can and happily take my gold in exchange.
Disable gifting and they stop buying all those crowns to help out guildmates by gifting in exchange for gold.

I’m pretty sure that’s the intent. Instead of being able to get the DLCs from someone in exchange for gold, you’ll have to either sub or buy your own crowns. That’s a win for zeni
ZOS still got their money the seller had to buy crowns and purchase the DLC.
Posting real pictures of yourself even in a meme is against the rules here. it counts as sharing personal information.
Sometimes investigations and temporarily disabling stuff does take longer. Not everything in life happens quickly and instantly.
Just wanted to build on this point. We are working on building solutions that protect everyone when gifting crown store items. Investigating solutions and building those out does take time. We understand this is not deal. It isn't ideal for anyone not engaging in fraudulent behavior. It isn't ideal for us. However, we want to stress this is temporary as we are working out the best path forward. We don't know how long this will take, but we are working to resolve this as soon as we can.
