I mean, considering Gina from ZOS already saw and commented in this thread so people could be informed, I’m not entirely sure why you’re so preoccupied with summoning mods.

And/or commenting about them in what feels like every other thread. But do what makes you feel comfortable, I suppose.

i think its a pretty safe bet the bans are due to endevor exploit highlighted in this thread as some of the names that are saying they recieved bans also appear on it

Does anyone know what the typical trigger is for this problem? Someone on reddit said it might be caused by a disconnection while in a group (no idea where they got that from). The uncertainty about what actually causes the ban message is what's bothering me right now.

The rumor mill says the exploit was due to an endeavor bugging out and people figuring out how to repeat it for extra seals.

Oooooh, shoot, I remember seeing a thread about that now. And it WAS only PS EU, IIRC. Reaper’s March was resetting endeavors one day and they hot patched a fix. Now they have to sort through who stumbled on it accidentally and thought their endeavor glitched out and redid it as a precaution and who maliciously exploited it for big gains.

This was an annoying problem happening at Reapers March recently, which I complained about to ZOS - endeavors weren't appearing correctly: they were stated to be "unavailable at this time" above ground in Reapers March. 36 of my characters are based next to Remains Silent in the Outlaws Refuge in Reapers in order to collect their daily satchels; my 2 new characters have no intention of joining the Thieves Guild or the dark brotherhood so I park them at the stable in Reapers March ready for their daily riding lesson. They are all on console (PS4), half on each server. ZOS fixed it fairly quickly - surely I haven't been permanently banned because I brought this annoyance to their attention?!?

I'm not on any affected platforms (so far, fingers crossed), and very much hope they fix everyone up soon. Yet another thing going wrong is a bad look, and they really haven't needed help in that department lately.

I am confident that the ZOS face team will come together tomorrow during Pacific Time/non-lunch working hours to craft the wording for how they wish this hadn't happened and to encourage us that they feel shame and are working on it.

I haven't been in a group for a very long time so it can't be that.

This is a significantly badly handled situation.

Whilst I have not been affected by this directly, I’d estimate that around 25-30% of the player base that I interact with and know have been.

Indirectly, this has affect many guild activities (Zenithar event runs, Prog groups, achievement runs etc) and upset a much, much wider population than “a few accounts”.

The strongest rumour in social media is that this is related to a provisioning writ endeavour (?16th July), and it would appear that rather than freezing accounts that “got more seals of endeavours per day than maximum” (I.e. more than the total of the 3 daily but less than weekly, and more than combined daily+ weekly), that ZOS have frozen any account that did a provisioning writ on the 16th July, regardless if it was for Endeavour seals or not.

This is affecting guilds and player base (and player confidence) much more than the u35 release.

The timing of this with Quakecon next week is extremely bad planning too.

I don't need to get banned from another game and forum that I enjoy. Neither does most players here. I hope this issue gets resolved soon and also that the unfairly banned gets their accounts reinstated too.

Well this is sad an a bit caotic but isn't the first time that happened. 2 years ago I got booted (307) from server while I was running errands (normal time, no events) and when I tried to log back, found that character was banned (326) for one week and the reply on ticket was " we don't know why, but your character is restored" ... rly?? So I hope won't get banned again.

Also the moderators could be busy investigating this thread and are trying to decide what to do with it.

This will make the situation worse. We gained players only for queue issues and innocent people getting banned

I got an update from ZOS after my response to the ticket. Unfortunately not much further info on anything. Just wondering how being banned while its still being investigated can take "several days to weeks" when I pay for ES0+...? Just taking my money without allowing access is really unfair:

Gods, I also put in a ticket about that.

Did not exploit, just went & did the endeavours in a zone they registered, as presumed things were buggy (in this game? Surely not.) and them got on doing the stuff I enjoy.

If that is the issue…….words fail me at their response.

If that is the case, an awful lot of players are collecting event boxes that way. And since the event is for playing world bosses, it should not be dealt with as a bot doing it.

Plausible but this is just like dolmen farming but at another location.
As for people getting banned in dungeons or doing quests that is because they done something before.

Also ban on my side

Only crime was I play the game every day since the beginning with PSPlus

Also play in Euro and NA servers

All my friends got a perm Ban also

Guild master in Euro Server, my guild will be also destroyed

ZOS: Guilty until proven Innocent.

This is pretty bad ZOS, you are mass banning people who pay good money to you and have done nothing wrong. All accounts should be immediately reinstated with the presumption of innocent until proven guilty, then you can start investigating your spaghetti code to find out what went wrong.

This does not sound like you have been affected by the ban - I suggest you access the help pages on the website to put in a ticket.

(But if you get to the list of characters, do you not just click on the character you want to log in on & join that way?)

This happened to me, I’ve been playing the same way since ps4 release, never cheated. Was unable to even log in to get help at first everything is a mess. If I don’t get my account unlocked then I’ll have to ask for all content to be refunded as I can’t use it.
Hope this gets resolved soon as I’ve been instructed by my doctor to reduce my stress so Sod’s Law this is.
Will definitely be taking a very long break from this game and all games.

Same thing happened to me yesterday (PS5 EU) and I barely played all day. I am a day one player and I have never been in a situation like this before. Anyone have an estimated time these kind of things get resolved?

Seems like a large number of false positives have occurred, as in other circles I'm in the reports of these false bans are alarmingly high.

You should only ban after investigations, never before.
