Agreed, likely nothing done today/kicked out at time of playing was the trigger. Though what on earth could be done seemingly almost exclusively on PS EU only in the past… however long… that would lead to this is mystifying. Not that I’m trying to summon mass bans everywhere else.

Also, honestly, makes me feel awful for EU across the board. It feels like all EU servers get the shortest end of the stick one way or another: PC EU having crises far more than NA plus that trader swap/non-swap debacle years ago, this crazy ban wave on PS EU, and XBox EU in limbo and dying waiting on their server hardware upgrade.

According to Gina, some accounts were "temporarily suspended" while ZOS investigates an in-game exploit. If the investigation isn't over, how can they know who did what for certain? Even those who indeed made use of an exploit should be banned/suspended only after it's crystal clear what the exploit was and the records show clearly they violated the ToS. I know this isn't the justice system, but some notion of due process should still exist, both for the sake of the customers and the company. Investigate, gather enough evidence and then ban. This mess reminds me of the Imperial motto, according to which a person is presumed guilty until proven innocent.

I'm on PC/NA, but I have to admit I'm a bit nervous about playing after reading this thread, even though I wouldn't cheat in this game even if I knew how to. Which I don't. I'm not nowledgeable enough about ESO to do that, despite playing since 2014.

This is a less than stellar way to welcome players back to ESO. I just started up again back in mid June, and have now had both of my PS5(NA/EU) servers banned, and it would also seem my PCNA account received the same treatment. Not only that, but I can't even get as far as a lot of people when it comes to appealing the issue as I can't access any of the help options in game or online since I can't log in to my account at elderscrollsonline.com either.

Now I get to not do my daily activities, participate in the event, or anything ESO for that matter. What really annoys me is that there is literally no explanation for what is happening and an undefined time frame for them to fix it.

Now for the fun conspiracy theory part of all of this. BG3 drops for PC tomorrow, and if I were looking to cash in on launch, getting a large portion of the ESO users banned for "imaginary exploit" would be a great way to open up to have a numerous people get into my game.

That having been said, they weren't even nice enough to boot me from the server, I just got to read an e-mail from almost four hours ago letting me know I've had Volendrung dropped on my head and now kind of regret the money I spent on the new chapter and renewing my ESO+ if undeserved ban hammers for nothing were what I was going to get for them.

All I've been doing is endeavours, writs on 8 characters, the 1 daily event quest, and emptying the dragonguard chest, so nothing that might be considered spamming.

that sounds plausible for this situation, if it was an easy to complete endeavor at that, which could have been accidentally triggered by many people (such as something you would normally do in game like killing enemies with class or weapon skills)

Although it's pointless of me to speculate without having any information to form any speculations about, the apparent fact that it's mostly affecting or involving EU accounts makes me wonder if it could have anything to do with the gifting of Crown Crates and the laws that some EU countries have regarding "gambling crates" and the like. I mean, we know there was some sort of exploit or whatever going on with Crown Crate gifting, which led to the disabling of that functionality within the Crown Store, and I can't think of any reason why EU should be especially affected by anything like that unless it's due to players who try to circumvent their countries' bans on "gambling crates" by having other players gift them with Crown Crates-- if that sort of circumventing was even possible to do before the gifting of Crown Crates was disabled.

But as I said, pointless to speculate, so we'll just have to wait and see. And we may never truly find out whatever it was.

Interesting theory but never gifted a Crown crate in my life.

I did gift a crown store item from an alt account to my main - all legit & above board.

(And def did not exploit anything to do with endeavours.)

Just feeling angry & bemused & gobsmacked at the whole debacle. Love being accused and punished without any chance of discussion.

Oooooh, shoot, I remember seeing a thread about that now. And it WAS only PS EU, IIRC. Reaper’s March was resetting endeavors one day and they hot patched a fix. Now they have to sort through who stumbled on it accidentally and thought their endeavor glitched out and redid it as a precaution and who maliciously exploited it for big gains.

Anecdotally... it used to be the case that the cancellation of ESO Plus was the first indication of an incoming ban.

Perhaps this is ZOS’ way to improve server performance. After the recent login issues maybe they realized the hamsters couldn’t deal with the amount of players so they had to figure out a way to reduce the amount of players?

I feel sorry for those who got banned without doing anything wrong. Hope it gets resolved and hope you get proper compensation (but I wouldn’t count on it).

People mentioning crown crates, endeavors and can confirm i havent touched either of those at all and still got the perma ban...

People also mentioning the gambling crates in some EU countries, I'm based in the UK and there are no such laws here.
