Let me say once again. We DO NOT WANT THIS. WE DO NOT NEED THIS. Dedicate resources elsewhere in Cyrodiil! This is a terrible idea!

On the contrary, more glory to the victor. It’s nice to finally have visible on screen results to completely shut down toxic zone chatters that claim to be the best.
I love this change.

Then I was wondering if this is how boosting is done? PvP death notifications would make it obvious.

My impression is that the AP value of killing someone depends on when they died last. If they haven't died in a while you can get a fair bit out of them but, if they've been fighting in a battle for the last 20 minutes and have died over and over you don't get much of anything from killing them.

I hardly ever get any tells, but if you do get a tell it's usually from someone you killed complaining that they were outnumbered or something. I don't think I've ever known someone to send a tell to someone they've killed lol, and if they did it'd probs be a complement that you were tough to kill or something.
Who asked for this? Whose benefit has this been implemented for?
Maybe it's to 'toughen up' all the PvEers who complain about having to do PvP content for tickets. If they know their name is going to be broadcast to the whole zone every time they die, they'll actually have to learn to get good.

PvP Death Notifications
We’ve added a new death notification feature to Cyrodiil, Imperial City and Battlegrounds to give more details about combat and deaths.
- This new chat feature will alert you to who defeated whom, around what area the death occurred, and show alliance ranks of those in the battle.
- These notifications can be toggled on and off in the Social settings.
Billium813 wrote: »Then, we would be able to name and shame players MUCH easier... Only the top 0.0001%, bombers, and narcissists, would then enable this new feature.

I don't want this feature in game, the swords on the map is enough. There needs to be some sort of hide function where your name does not appear in the notification to the whole server.
Are you saying that people don't want their PvP inadequacies put on blast to the whole server, complete with a link to their name where they can receive unwanted hate whispers.... from everybody? Just wait until the next PvP event where PvEers will not only dread getting repeatedly killed over and over again, but they can be mortified by seeing the whole embarrassing spectacle of their PvEness broadcast to everybody in the zone!!
Welcome to ZOS' new vision for PvP.

There is enough idiocy filling my chat windo during primetime, I don't need this on top of it.
Who thought this was a good idea and why?
There had best be a way to both opt out and shut it off
