But I haven't seen any comment on the other concerns from ZOS on this. I'd appreciate some commentary.ZOS_GinaBruno wrote: »Fixed an issue that caused some technically self-inflicted kills to appear in the PvP Death Notifications, such as death by Slaughterfish. Also, please just avoid Slaughterfish in general.

But really, who would choose to try to scan a small chat box with a constantly rolling wall of kill texts to get clues about who is dying where, when you can simply look at your map and see icons of varying size? I use Kill Counter and the first thing I do on any new character is turn off flag flip chat notifications. That alone is so annoying to spam my little chat box and block out actual zone chat information, I can't imagine what every single death notification will look like.
And I haven't heard anyone talking about the 'claim a keep and your guild gets guard death notifications' thing they implemented earlier. Does anybody actually find that useful? Why are we being subjected to these unwanted QOL nerfs? It would be nice if ZOS had stated their reasoning for spending time on these systems. But of course, silence.
People have been crying out for new pvp content... Here it is!
Actually the opposite will happen, atleast with me. As a PvE'er if I get killed a few(5+) times in a row I will now start reporting that player. Like skara's example text, if a player gets killed by the same player that often in a row(4+), it is harassment and not PvP in my opinion.Who asked for this? Whose benefit has this been implemented for?
Maybe it's to 'toughen up' all the PvEers who complain about having to do PvP content for tickets. If they know their name is going to be broadcast to the whole zone every time they die, they'll actually have to learn to get good.
This will make it harder to troll keeps and add a ton of spam messaging to the chat window.
This seems like another "upgrade" that is actually a downgrade. Not to mention using more server resources to make it happen which will likely result in more lag and other issues.

Instead, I think a system notification that provides a map pin would be, at least, more useful. Random notifications in chat are fairly ambiguous and disconnected for players from action. I'd rather see skull markers on the map that show deaths and then fade away after 10 seconds.
Alternatively, I'd just like to see the crossed sword map markers updated to mouse over and show information about the fight.
I see a lot of people here who apparently haven't played a game besides eso or single player rpgs. Kill feeds are as old as multiplayer gaming itself. if you are concerned about being harrassed by people make use of the ignore feature. Don't forget to clean it out every once in a while though. I assure you unless you deserve it you wont make 100 enemies that regularly harass you.

Yeah I have been PvPing in ESO for over 6 years and I don't think at any point I had more than 5 to 10 people on my ignore list, most of those because I reported them for something.
If you have a full ignore list then maybe the problem is with you and not other players.

Kill feeds being a staple in some multiplayer games doesn't mean they are useful, or relevant to ESO specific PvP. Copying a system mindlessly based only on precedent offers no improvements or understanding.if you are concerned about being harrassed by people make use of the ignore feature. You must not play much PvP, or you're the ones getting blocked. There are toxic players that PM hate regularly; especially when they are on the winning side. Iv reported more players then I can count that PM me "get rekt newb", or "go back to pve where you belong" after killing me with their 20 friends in a ball group. There are addons that auto send mail after they kill people. You report and ignore and others just move in and replace them.

I barely ever receive those kind of whispers and send them even more rarely.
It's also insane that you report people for something like that, I barely report players until they are seriously insulting me or are very offensive to someone. Something like "get rekt newb" is barely even an insult.
And again if you're constantly getting those kinds of messages, you might wanna take a look at yourself.

You sometimes messaging players just to gloat and insult them? I bet you tea bag corpses too. It's toxic behavior and there is absolutely no need for it; most definitely worth an ignore. And you have the gull to insinuate that it's probably the person you are messaging that's the issue? You're part of the problem. Stop harassing players and creating a toxic environment.
