Official Discussion Thread, "Earn Bizarre Rewards During the Jester’s Festival Event!"

My Day 1 gold box reward was a mirth shard, part of a collectable that I already have. Beyond buying crown store event tickets, there's no opportunity to collect anything I don't already have in my collections until tomorrow. So one day down and 8 or 9 to go.

It's not looking good for completing the collectable items this year, something I've always managed to do for previous events.

I do appreciate the double xp.

I got one fragment from a gold box for the pig, however, I am not sure how likely it is to actually complete it in just 7 or 8 boxes with all the competition for other items there is.

Out of my four chances for a new item:
March 29 = 1 new item (fragment)

I hope that ZOS takes a close look at this and makes the experience more user friendly for future events. The event seems poorly designed this time around: far too large a loot table, no incentive to do quests beyond the first each day, and even if you have good luck with drops it is impossible to collect the new items without turning to traders and the crown store. I hope this is simply an oversight and not intentional.

@ZOS_Kevin can we get confirmation that it is intended to be unable to complete the Jester's Minstrel Daedroth Costume naturally? The announcement says it only drops from the gold boxes and it is not guaranteed.

You require 10 fragments. There are only 8-9 days of the event. So at best, with perfect drops, doing all 9 days, you are still short 1.

Personally, one day in, and I did not get a fragment, so now at best, I can get 8. There are only 24 realistic tickets in this event. 27 if I wake up at 6am west coast... no thanks. Two muse pieces at 10 tickets and hide shoulders at 5, is already more than 24. At 3 tickets per fragment, and 1 fragment at 250 crowns, is ZoS expecting us to pay 7500 crowns for a fun event collectible assuming no drops? Is this how events will be going forward?

Please tell me this wasn't intentional. Can multiple fragments drop from one box? Are they supposed to drop from the purple boxes? Did I mess up some math somehow? Or does ZoS truly want people to purchase event tickets with crowns? Please let us know, otherwise I have to assume it's the latter, which is deeply saddening.

I'm repeating my offer: I don't want the costume or the dibella stuff - so broom/bucket style pages I get (if any), and the Cloth fragments (I got 5 out of 6 today) I will be happy to gift to people who need them, first come first served. The day before the event ends, I'll post a list in this thread, and anyone who needs stuff can PM me. This is good on both PC NA and PC EU. Sorry, I don't have consoles.

Of course not. I doubt that anyone (other than some hardcore flippers) approves of the way ZOS has handled this. We are trying to find out their motivation for shorting players on in-game drops, but they remain silent.

Glad you agree. Yes their silence does not bode well. Whenever they ask "We think we are doing a great job communicating, how can we improve?", this is a great example.

I was so looking forward to this event but it's way to short to earn enough pieces for the new adorable daedroth costume. It feels very pay to earn and not very play to earn. I hope the drop change increases in the next couple of days.

Done the quests on 5 characters and not one sovereign sow fragment. I can tell this is gonna be like last year. It shouldn’t take me literal years to obtain this pet🤦‍♀️ Not enough incentives and too much of a grind imo

Personally, I’m going to engage as little as possible for this event. I did the easiest quest on all my characters, I’ll turn it in on one per day for the rest of the event, and get set up on dailies for the Anniversary event instead.

easiest to do is go fight the boar. two quests tied to that one, then you really only have to participate every other day.

I'm very disappointed with how they set this event to be (RNGeesus already slapped me today by giving me two pages from styles I already collected). The bright side, which is just a consequence of the dark one, is at least there won't be a grind for me. I'll just kill the pig, get the tickets and go enjoy double XP elsewhere. Sad part is I wasn't even on the mood to use the jester personality.

There is no point on engaging with the even beyond a single daily quest for the tickets and a chance for the new stuff.

I already have all the stuff from previous years (plus the actual broom and bucket items from 'back in the day') and the way they've deliberately set it up puts me off from spending money on tickets.

If you'd like to obtain the event cosmetics you could either engage with the event or give us money is a proposition that, where not beyond reproach, is normalised enough to fly under the radar without much eyebrow raising.

If you'd like to obtain the event cosmetics you will have to give us money or engage with a economy of wild scarcity regardless of your engagement level however is a proposition that I find unpalatable.

Remember the invisible pizza mount we got earlier this year? Wouldn't it be great to have an invisible mount for the Jester's Festival? It would add just the right note of ridiculousness, I think. I know I rode my invisible mount every chance I got.

only did my ticket quest for yesterday but got the broom style page, which i did need

i was looking at the fragments for the jesters daedroth suit and its not pretty

if you were extremely unlucky and did not get any fragments, you would have to spend 30! tickets at the event vendor to buy enough to get it, unless your willing to spend the extremely high prices on the guild traders

so at worse case, its going to cost 30 tickets or upwards of 10 million gold to get enough fragments if you do not mix buying methods

if we are spending tickets we should be able to buy the costume directly, this is nonsense

I'd be curious to see how much event ticket sales have gone up as a result, but of course, we will never be privy to that information.

yeah well im certainly not buying into that nonsense, the only time ive ever bought tickets is the gifting bonus during the new life festival (gift the tickets get crates, but im doing it more to send tickets to friends that i appreciate in the game lol)

Funny thing is, I am no stranger to spending money in the cash shop and I do like the costume.

However because they have made it by design pretty much impossible for me to acquire without spending money regardless of my level of engagement with the event it has both soured the event for me and ensured that I won't get the costume because I can't justify spending money under the given conditions.

I'm enjoying this event. It is simple and fun. The basic three alliance quests remain pleasant enough and I quite enjoy the 'Kill the King Boar' quest for its simplicity, fun and speed. Also enjoying the hide shoulders option now.
