The patch download was a pain for me at about the 19 to 22 percent area you mentioned. I was streaming on Hulu, and it was glitching bad, and I suspect it was related to the patch download. I almost shut it down to retry a few times but just shut down other programs and let it do its thing to see what would happen. Eventually, it got past that hurdle and continued the download.
I tried that also still did it, either or way it is an issue that company has to fix that simple better now than a year later.
I agree. I didn't appreciate having to stop watching a show during maintenance if the glitches were caused by the patch downloading. I can't say they definitely were, but it happened when the patch was at about the 20 percent you mentioned, so seems likely.
That's not the way this works. I'm a Windows programmer. According to something I once read, Windows / Microsoft spends up to 40% of execution time in "typical" programs validating what 3rd parties are doing and preventing the system from being crashed. Back in the 90s (Windows 95) blue screens that brought down the whole system were commonplace. These days they are a rarity and limited to problems with (display) drivers. If it's a library for an add-on, and it's not created by ZOS, the blame is misplaced. Curious though to see what ZOS finds as the cause in the end. It at least looks to me like it's not a ZOS issue, so am curious how they feel troubleshooting content created by others (assuming the creator of the library isn't a ZOS employee).

Thing is they also got issues other than one that this update has caused some players can't update the game and some players are crashing even with no add ons at all, so it isn't a add on issue although that wouldn't surprise if one was causing buts seems to be more a game issues at the moment due to the new update.
Already had 8 players in discord i know play this game say their game crashes and they don't have any add ons at all or can't even update the game as it crashes at around 19 to 22 percent locks up crashes. So Add ons isnt the main source but a in game engine issue they did while updating.

It seems there are multiple issues that are causing some crashes, and some of them involve a rollback. So far, I can say with 99% confidence that the NodeDetection library is the source of the problem for many players based on what I am reading here and based on my own experience. That is one problem area that solves the crashing for some, but it looks like there are other in-game activities that some of us have not done yet that may be causing other problems?

I am not using addons, neither are a lot of others. The rollbacks are not related to addons.
