If they did they'd delay the changes till they could make them work.

Absolutely not. I would go as far as suggesting that the lack-luster communication has been disrespectful at best. From "knee-jerk reactions," which were "disappointing," to completely over-looking pages upon pages of PTS Feedback over the course of the PTS Cycle, I feel the company has lost its touch. This is the primary reason I cancelled my sub (for the first time in years.)

The poll results should be an eye-opener for anyone in the team.

    1. None of the changes were thought out. We got blamed for jerking our knees and then we were proven right through actual testing of content. There should have been some sort of acceptance that our initial reactions weren't "tiresome."
    2. Doubling down on changes because of, I don't even know why actually.
    3. Last minute hasty even less thought out "fixes." that actually made matters worse. (10% blanket decrease of health? to make it look like Live? Then why destroy combat in the first place?)
    4. Introducing concepts like Medium Weaving, making the game even more inaccessible for mid-tier/casuals.
    5. Forgetting that they also destroyed healing and not doing anything about incoming damage or two-second HoT timers.
    6. Introducing face-saving "sticky" and standard DoTs, making the game even more inaccessible for mid-tier/casuals.
    7. Completely destroying class identity.
    8. Ignoring nearly every feedback given.

So yes, I do not feel any feedback is valued by this company. I feel their motivations of changing combat every patch are dishonest. I feel there is no reliable feedback. No roadmap. No mechanism. And I mean it all in as much a "polite, non-bashing," manner as I can.
    "Knee-jerk reactionist."

Only time they even budge is when the community gets together in outrage like this. Even then, instead of rolling back the unpopular changes, they keep pushing while feigning the compromise by 'conceding' on the smallest part of the update that has little to no impact overall.

Unfortunately not, I'm sad to say. I'm increasingly of the opinion it's going to take a BFA/Shadowlands disaster t9 shake them out of the current mindset.
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

Still scratching my head from that one myself.

I gave up on them listening to me during the Warden nonsense in U34. I haven't given any feedback this cycle because it's clearly just a waste of time. The only feedback they care about is the spaghetti they're throwing against the wall. In years of playing MMOs, U35 has to be the biggest mess I've seen. I often don't agree with devs, but things usually work out okay.

For example, I very much didn't like the FF14 tank changes in Shadow Bringer. They dumbed it down until it was basically just standing still while spamming your AoE in trash pulls and a 1-2-3 combo during bosses. But the game was still fine because the other changes were moderated and sane. I just went back to playing a healer. What's more, the devs had a clear goal in mind, one they communicated, and thought I disagreed with the direction, they hit the mark.

In the case of ESO, everything I care about seems to be dying. Who knows how bad it can get? It's just gone from bad to worse to... whatever this dumpster fire is. I canceled my sub. It's fine for devs not to listen to the player base, it really is. They are the experts after all. Or at least they're supposed to be. As a player, what matters is that I can trust that the devs can keep a game I care about alive and well, and I'm not seeing that.

ZOS might have taken it as:

'As designers, we need to be the spreadsheet's and our own pride's greatest advocate during a game's development, always considering carefully how design decisions affect the spreadsheet's and our pride's agency in the world'

No wonder spreadsheet is having a lovely time...

Although I'm trying, it's getting harder and harder to read the total lack of detail on content health reductions as anything other than "please don't give us feedback on this". Edit: The reason it's getting harder is it's taking longer and longer with no answers to the question.

    Bwahahah, what!?

On a side note - it is their game, and they have every right to do whatever they want with it...
even to ignore our feedback and to ruin it completely.

It's a sad thing that we as the playerbase have to be the ones defending ZOS' product.

The players don't have to defend ZOS. That is a choice.

I remember when we used to get nice surprises like the Sticker Book in Updates.

These days I mainly just dread the dropping of the patch notes.

a choice which some of us make - though many feel that this is a waste of time.

Anyway, I fully agree - I will not defend them, but the creation, yes.

Ever since the change to achievements where PAGES of feedback were not even acknowledged, that’s a big resounding NO. Honestly, as much as I hated that change, ZOS’s handling of it disappointed me more than anything. :pensive:

I been playing ESO since beta and this has to be the biggest joke of a patch in ANY game I ever played. No foresight, broken promises, lack of communication with the fanbase, not listening to feedback, passive aggressive statements from a dev to the playerbase (Rich Lambert), last minute untested features, ect.

I wish I didn't buy the 1-year sub cause the devs have no idea what they are doing. Once people stop subbing and buying crowns only then will they listen but by that point it will be to late. I still have a few months on my sub hopefully they fix things by/in u36 (They won't) but in the mean time I'm going to watch this sinking ship that I'm on laughing all the way until my sub ends.

Last year was a bad year. I feel that this year has been better and that some changes were made to address problems/requests that players had.

I’m not saying that everything is just fine, and indeed several things concern me, but I feel improvements should be acknowledged.
