Do You Feel Your Feedback as an ESO Customer is Valued?

Wether im heard or not is what ever, but ignoring pros like skinny, nefas etc is just not cool.

Than we reach a situation were week 3 changes make all rotations harder.

Yeah, that part is pretty rough. If my feedback isn't overly important, I understand that. When members of your own Stream Team are coming to you concerned, confused and worried about the future of the game and it is still met with silence or even worse, doubling down, I wonder who they would listen to? At what point is it an issue that ZOS takes seriously?

Said no but that’s not completely true the same as yes would not be completely true either.

They do listen but are very selective about it. Asking for “hard data” they can see and act upon in the PTS. They did listen to some as seen from week one to week three. Problem with hard data is they are excluding 2/3 of their player base from hard data since consoles have no PTS. So, I feel as a console player my feedback is much less valued by ZOS to not even really being wanted.

Many QOL have been asked over the years but completely ignored by the development teams as I feel this thread will be also because it is not the feedback they want or feel it is toxic. Sure, they addressed some of the things ask for in week one to week three. While many others they simply either ignored or did not want. They could have at least answered as to why certain things ask for are not being address rather then a wall of silence as if they do not exist. Intentional and selective silence is partly why communication is an overall failure in my opinion.

Honestly, I think they do not have an overall goal or plan for ESO related to combat for all the teams. Which is one of ZOS biggest problems. Content teams and combat team have different views and are working on two separate planes of view. Just look what they tried to do to all DOT’s They are just throwing ideas on a wall to see what sticks.

Feel they are doing the best they can, but a clear direction and better overall goals would be helpful. Clear concise goals would help them not be so reactionary but instead proactive in how they are building and improving ESO overall. They ae behind the eight ball so to speak and it will take a lot of hard work and thick skin by everyone to get where we need to go.

Love ESO and wish for it many more years of success. It’s been out for a while now and still trying to find its feet regarding combat and are getting stuck in a rut. ZOS and we as a community can do this and make ESO better it’s just going to take work, patience and communication from both sides.

    Stay safe :)

I have played since beta, paid the subs religiously and then ESO+ in the same vain ever since.

These changes will make me cancel payments. My only question (seeing as I have never done it and ZOS clearly want to be data driven 100%) is when I cancel do I get to enter/select a reason why and if so can "Update 35 Combat changes" be added to the drop down list of possible answers please so they can measure the business impact of these decisions?

Definitely not. And it feels like they value it less as time goes on.

I beta tested the game and played on PC for a short while before my PC died. I came back at console release and played for about a year or so on Xbox but then switched to PC. In all that time, ZOS’ communication is like the sputtering of an old car, starting and stalling for no apparent reason. The only saving grace for communication is the efforts of ZOS_Kevin. ZOS’ actions over the years make it clear that they ask for feedback with very little intention of taking it seriously. The only data that seems to matter to them are the quarterly revenue reports and gameplay numbers on a spreadsheet.

Based on my experience you will get an email after cancelling Plus that will confirm membership cancellation.

The middle paragraph has a link in which you can reply via email with suggestions for "making your experience better".

They reply back - it will probably be with the standard "MMOs change all the time" routine. I don't mind change. I mind endless, off-the-wall nerfs to my careful progress every three months by a dev team driven by something other than customer satisfaction. But I suspect you know all that.

I voted with my wallet as soon as U35 patch notes dropped, as did MANY of my friends and guildmates. 8 years loyal customer, but tired of having ZoS boot on my head holding me down from progressing anymore. at this point should we still be talking to ZOS or should we start doing @Microsoft instead?

Honestly, as a recently acquired asset by MIcrosoft, I think they would be interested in the turn this patch is taking and the number of people just leaving their new game.

I doubt it. Microsoft acquired ZoS and all their money and efforts are going towards their new Star Wars MMO.

I do feel that my personal feedback is not heared. Feedback as whole is heared a little bit, zos tries to draw some major points out of it in trying to aggregate all. BUT i feel this is foremost done like a polotical instrument to create a feeling for the players that their feedback is values.

To be more precise i feel it is a higher priority for zos to do public relations and use the feedback for that than to have the goal to really create a good, healthy and function game and use the feedback for that.

When developers start to double down on actions that the people that play the game do not want. How is this good business? I have serious questions on the direction of this game. So does almost everyone that is currently playing.

lol no. They even ban ESO players and ESO+ subscribers on Twitch streams for asking questions about changes to the game. ESO devs consistently show that they will keep making sledgehammer changes even if it wastes longtime players' builds and efforts to farm. They stopped the community representative thing program they had a while back too. I still check out ESO occasionally to see if anything good was added / patched and if there's been a change with the way the devs & community managers talk to the players. Overall, I am glad I started playing FFXIV and I am very thankful for game devs who are quick to patch issues and who actually play their own game.

yes ive talked with others on some of these decision makings and theyre questioning the games future as well......one can hope with a loud enough (not using threats of violence and such obviously) voice from the community theyll rethink some choices and put them on hold to rethink on what they were going for with the issue that was highly disliked (like the combat changes done with the PTS)...it doesnt hurt them to post pone the combat changes/balancing for the time and focus on the new content only for the dlc instead for the time being , let the team dedicate time to re-evaluate what was wrong with the combat changes looking at the critical player feedback vs what they envisioned and such , find a better way to do it and all since the current method isnt remotely appealing to both casuals and serious players.

To be fair, how many people in this thread alone have logged into the pts and tested the changes for their play style?

It's kind of hard for them to analyze feedback when any suggestion of changes inspires a laundry list of "I'll quit" posts from people who are just reading the notes and assuming the worst.

They clearly do listen to feedback. They just walked back several things with 8.1.3.
