I would have preferred "just" subscription with all expansions included, personally, but then again I can't say how much the game's population was bolstered by a non sub option, and that's important too.

I definitely don't think everything should be just free to everyone. However I do think all but the newest dungeons should be rolled into the random dungeon queue (previous ones get added when new ones are released) to restore the original point of the random queue and have the experience be roughly the same for all players.
