It's good that they put a new pinned thread up about what's going on with MYM/Whitestrakes Mayehem. But they still haven't given us any updates on where they're at with the code rewrite/re architecture project, or to let us know if that project is even still happening or not.
So, where is ZOS at with the code reworking project?

I feel for PVP players. I personally don't do it much but, I have been trying to get into it. But, when it is done. Please work on something to add to PVP other than new item sets.
It's a truly underutilized asset that players should be partaking in more regularly. I think most don't because, it rarely sees updates. Imperial city is still one of my favorite pieces of content.
I am pretty sure that this whole "code rewrite" was blown out of proportion by marketing and some hyped players. The announcement of this project, and the promise of better pvp performance, happened a few days after a fauxpas that insulted the whole pvp community (on a twitch stream over a year ago). Very good timing.
After witnessing all the other fruitless projects, and the way they have been communicated, we should not expect this new one to fix all the problems. I would be very positively surprised if it fixed anything. Let's just hope it will not break the game even more.
It would be nice to get some real info, why this game is still plagued with so many bugs and performance issues, after so many years. Maybe in the form of an interview. But i guess that will never happen.

I'm not here to defend ZoS's actions but I do want to point out that a lot of people seem to have a misunderstanding about the re-architecture. Yes it is happening. No it doesn't prove a long-term support for the game. They said it would take most of 2022 to write it. They never said it would be integrated in that time. They did say it would be integrated over the course of 2023. So yeah, calm down about it. It's happening. Will it actually perform better? Maybe. Or maybe they'll throttle down the hardware even more to cut costs while maintaining the same level of performance they have now. Who actually can say?
As for why they would do this kind of work this late in the lifecycle. Well, that's where you have to put your business hat on. People seem to think it will cost a lot of money to do such a thing but really it doesn't. Those employees were already present and being payed. On top of that, for a long-tail wind down they would want to cut operational costs as much as possible to increase profits. This means better hardware and better software with one-time investments that will drastically cut down on maintenance and electricity costs in the long run. On top of that people seem to forget they are working on a new game. What better way to develop a core technology that they need to make no matter what (hence the costs is already factored in) than to develop it for a live scenario where it can be battle tested with real world metrics? Two birds. One stone.

"new PVP content"
That's funny. They're barely even putting out any good PVE content now and there hasn't been PVP content in years. LOL
