Recent article in the Washington post had a Q and A with Rich Lambert. one of the last question ask was were ESO is going next year and hear was his answer

Lambert: I think the best way to answer that is we are going to continue to support ESO. We’re going to continue building new content, building new systems and making the game better as we go. That’s something that we’re committed to doing. Exactly where we’re going — new features that we’re adding — that’s something that we’re not ready to talk about yet. But hopefully soon we’ll do that. But I will say that where we’re going next is a place that nobody’s expecting.

Wonder if this is somewhere not in tarmiel

Well, different players have speculated about going to all sorts of places-- areas of Tamriel that aren't in the game yet, lands beyond Tamriel, planes beyond Nirn, even back in time to when the Dwemer were still around. So either he's saying that it isn't any of those, or he's saying that no one is actually expecting any of those. :)

Pretty sure it’s hinted at the end of the Deadlands DLC. Just like it has been the last four years.

The next yeay event collectible is a pet illusionary dragon and the first morph is a akatosh themed skin

So either the it like this year and the reward match the yealy theme or its as relates as solitude and indricks.

We'll most likely get hint in the deadland dlc, just as mostly every time since orsinium
We may get a teaser durring the games award like it was the case for the last 2 years and a reveal mid january

Lyris Titanborn made note of wanting to return to Skingrad hinting at the Cyrodiilic theme.

In Southern Elsweyr Sai Sahan mentioned going to see his Snow Lily up north.

Clockwork City stated the Summerset Isles and the Psijic Order. being needed to be apprised of the Daedric threat.

Ah I was looking for the 2022 speculation thread.

In the current PTS next year's event ticket base morph is Live, it's called Soulfire Dragon Illusion, a small dragon non-combat pet.

    The description for it is:
"After much knowledge-seeking, I learned to summon an illusion of a small, fiery Dragon to follow me. While it's not the same as the real thing, that endears me to it more. Who wants a real Dragon around, after all?"—Ninaleon Sightbinder the First

    The 3 parts needed are:

    Hallowed Hourglass Basin
A small golden offering bowl engraved with dragon imagery and filled with consecrated sand. The first of three components required to create a Soulfire Dragon Illusion. This illusion can be further transformed with additional ingredients.

    Illuminated Dragon Scroll
A vellum scroll upon which prayers to the Dragon God are inscribed. The second of three components required to create a Soulfire Dragon Illusion. This illusion can be further transformed with additional ingredients.

    Kvatchian Incense
Sacred incense burned in the offering bowl that propitiate Akatosh for his blessing. The last of three components required to create a Soulfire Dragon Illusion. This illusion can be further transformed with additional ingredients.

The first morph is a Skin, called 'Scales of Akatosh'

2021's Unstable Morpholith had a fire and brimstone theme going on, hinting at the Deadlands.

I think the word "Soulfire" is interesting and might contain some clues...

The references to Akatosh are also interesting. The Empire provinces and Man-races in general, typically venerate Akatosh as the chief diety of the Eight Divines pantheon.

Hmm, I remember during the Elsweyr year a few people were talking about dragon breaks. Now I know ESO lore only casually, but if I had to guess, I'd say that fits with the pet/skin and the "place nobody's expecting". Where we go and what we do during the dragon break is still up in the air, but it seems to fit... even if I don't fully trust them to make it good and not just a half baked nostalgia trip at this point.

Could we finally be getting Colovia with the city of Skingrad?

Sure it would be Cyrodiil 2 years in a row but remember Cyrodiil is a big place, Colovia is warm and sunny like the gold coast, not cold and foggy like Blackwood, it would be a very different atmosphere.

I know it would never happen but I would love a dragon break and to have all the base zones and cyrodiil redone with modern assets. The base game looks very cartoonish and goofy compared to how beautiful every dlc is. I would love to witness the historic rise of Tiber Septim and the unification of the empire.

Pvp cyrodiil could take place in coldharbour since its essentially a copy of nirn in molag bals image. Instead of the three banners we could have 3 new groups like we have in battlegrounds...

Yes I know this will never happen but I can dream lol

That was this year, Blackwood is on the border of Black Marsh. I suppose a true argonian year would be pretty unexpected since we had a half argonian year this year. Then again, it'd make as much sense as a full Imperial year which is being speculated more heavily.

When asked plainly if he could tell Game Rant anything about upcoming content in 2022, Lambert said it will be "something nobody is expecting" and responded with a rhetorical question: what happens when the map is filled? He then went on to say that "Oblivion is nearly infinite in size and scope,"

I found this interview which I think is a pretty big clue, especially taken together with the question about Fargrave on the last stream - the gist was if it would be a hub for other daedric realms in the future; they laughed and wouldn't answer!

To upload an image, click the icon of the picture from the little formatting bar above the text box for the post. The easiest way is to upload the image to imgur (go to that site and select New Post). That will provide you a link that you can copy + paste as the image URL here. Remember to put .jpg at the end.

It will also be extremely helpful if you take the extra step to mark it as a spoiler first. Click on the paragraph icon (backwards P) in the formatting bar, then between the two bracketed spoiler put the image link with the formatting from the image icon.

If I had to guess I would say Colovia too, something to link with the gold coast as DB and TG haven't seen much love recently, it would be nice to have more pop in those zones again. I know it would still be Cyrodil but a very different part and with a totally different story it could be great.

You made me dream there ... I was enormously disappointed with the absence of Colovia this year. I still blame Lyris so much for her lie.

Akatosh ... Clues oriented towards the Eight ... I automatically think of the Colovians.
The Colovian people are very different from the Nibenese people. Whether it is the culture, the environment...

But I don't want to be disappointed. I maintain that 2022 will be the year of the redguards. Colovia may come in 2023.
Even though Blackwood is semi-imperial, I admit I fundamentally hated this region... and this despite Lovidicus.

The PTS has a new pet replacing the Unstable Morphilith which fit the Deadlands Daedric Theme, the new pet is a Golden version of those Dragon Imp pets and it seems to be based on Akatosh, the first morph of the new pet is an Akatosh themed skin, now if this pet is anything like our beloved floating pet rock then it would clearly be based on the new content.

It would be awkward to have an expansion in say Morrowind while we have this pet who is Akatosh themed so the expansion would need to be connected to Akatosh and the only way that will happen is if it either takes place in a land where Akatosh is worshipped so a Human-land or the expansion could instead have something to do with his sphere being time.

It is also possible the expansion could involve time travel or take place within whatever realm Akatosh himself resides.

If it's Imperial-related, it could also include the Battlespire. I remember that one being mentioned in one of the character introductions for the last dungeon DLC.
