Well, can confirm that the most recent update unlocked the character, which does seem intact upon brief examination (except for the empty craft bag and the achievement that started it all).
Agreed. 9 months of nothing, but the silver lining is it took a little over a month to get things turned around once it went public. It's unfortunate it had to get to that point of publicity but I am really glad that Yormula is finally getting the well-deserved resolve for all their time and money spent.Wow This sounds like nightmare!! I sure hope now that with 14 pages of replies by people in the community that they can finally get this fixed. SO SORRY this has happened!

Thank you ZOS for finally doing something about it.
Thanks for the offer, but no worries - this is still an open ticket, and even if it doesn't get resolved this part I can at least fix by myself.spartaxoxo wrote: »What server are you on? Maybe I can send you some mats
Edit: it actually just got resolved as well.Gear - yes, although thanks to the collection system this would also be a relatively minor issue.Did you manage to get your stuff back?
@starkerealm
While this is a moot thing now, I'd like to point out that a majority of us, had we been in OP's position, would have likely turned down a basic CP160 template with all the skill lines unlocked that had nothing else going for it.
Falkreath meta, and in a rather weird way (see below).Which achievement it was anyways?
...Meta'-achievement for one of the DLC dungeons that I was missing. Did a few runs, got them all eventually, looked at the meta - it said I didn't have completion and hardmode, which I did. After all, hard to get the speedrun one without completion, one would think.
Now, I could re-run it, except that it would not help. As I already had completion and hardmode, they would not trigger again, and it's them and not the underlying condition that triggers the meta. You don't get meta progress for killing the boss, you get it for acquiring the relevant achievement.
In this case removing completion and hardmode achievements from me would allow me to try again. Simple bunny-resurrection.
I mean...honestly what good is unsourced skill points compared to everything else you'd still be missing? Extra skill points also aren't that useful when the ones you can get normally are generally more than enough to unlock a good number of skill lines and fully get all the passives and all. My main point in that post is that "unsourced skill points" really aren't compensation at all compared to all the other more important stuff the character would still be missing if one were to settle for it.starkerealm wrote: »@starkerealm

You'll notice, first, the template specifically had additional unsourced skill points, according to Yamula, and second that even I've said it wouldn't be an easy choice for me.

Based on what can be seen in this thread yes ZOS can reassure that this would not happen again. The issue appears to be ZOS attempting to correct the OPs problem and instead breaking the character beyond repair. There are multiple references to the broken part being a save file. If it is truly a file then standard procedures in any basically competent IT shop would be to back up the file and also make a copy. Any modifications would be made to the copy which when complete and verified would be used to replace the broken original. If things went to pieces the backup could be restored leaving everything in its original state. If the save file is really an entry/entries or row/rows in a database best practices would be to make a copy of the tables in a test database, make the changes and verify them. If they were ok then a save point in the live database and the update made. In the event something went wrong updating the live database a rollback could readily be performed because of the previous save point. The key is standard procedures always allow the data being updated to be restored to its original state in the event something goes wrong. Based on the information we have available it is the lack of backup and ability to restore the character to its original state that are the issue not that the attempt to fix the problem broke things further.
