So on the PS5 Version I have to do all Trophies again?

Have to agree on the sentiments expressed here, @ZOS_GinaBruno, @ZOS_JessicaFolsom, @ZOS_MattFiror - we need to have this remedied. I've put hundreds of hours into this game over the years, at 82% complete for PSN Trophies. There's no way, especially for an MMO, that it's fair to expect us to re-earn those achievements all over again. I could understand if this was a single player game, but definitely not for a very situational and sometimes super difficult multiplayer game.

    Please fix.

100% spent so much money and earmed hard trophies. Please help out. If spider milles,ac v. No man sky, marvel avengers can do it so can You!!

I tried again on twitter and they only told me to provide feedback on the matter.

I see the hand writing on the wall, they consider the PS5 upgrade a new game with new trophies, which is ridiculous.
Least that seems to be what they are going to try to run with.

I personally think there will be no announcement and the tweet was only a distraction to calm things down.

Seems like they just want us to forget about this but i won’t, ZOS expects me to reearn up to 143 trophies? Thats absurd

For us non-PS people, I am having a hard time following this conversation. Are your achievements lost? Or are trophies a different thing?

On PS5 games that were backwards compatible then upgraded to PS5 have seperate trophies for their PS4 and PS5 versions

Most games like Miles Morales, Borderlands 3, and Valhalla automatically unlock their PS5 trophies that were earned on PS4 so you don’t have to earn the same trophies twice, for some reason ESO doesn’t do that and we wanna know why

No but we can only progress our trophies if we keep playing the poorly optimised ps4 version.

It's the same as achievements for xbox but it's called trophies on ps4. They are shown off in your playstation profile.

We are pissed because we unlocked hard stuff like becoming emperor and fisherman and they want us to simply repeat that for the ps5 version.

Plus you can't earn the trophies again on your old characters because they got the ingame achievements already done which means on top of it we even have to make a new character and do everything again...

Oh so when console gets an achievement (all of them or only certain ones?) the record is stored in essentially two places? Ie in game and in your PS profile?
So your in game achievements are still there, but you lost the ones on your profile?
If I'm understanding it correctly it sucks, but it's not as horrible as what I initially thought, ie that ALL your achievements had been wiped.
I'd loose my mind if I bought a new computer and logged on to find my skins and titles and dyes all gone.

Sorry but for some people trophies have a greater value than the ingame stuff. I would trade every stupid title or costume to get the fu emperor trophy done on the ps5 list because it's way too much effort to do it again and I doubt that it would be so hard to just let the ps4 trophies pop on the ps5 version. Other games do it as well.

Even FF14 does it in a way.

Yeah same here, favouring trophies over the in-game achievements. Those in-game achievements are per character in ESO (as far as I understand?) whereas trophies are tied to your PlayStation account and visible by all. I’ve been earning trophies since they were introduced in 2008 and one day when I stop playing ESO (or sooner if they don’t resolve this) I’ll still have visibility of those ESO trophies. So for those that collect trophies they are typically valued more than in-game achievements or even ESO itself.

The problem is trophies are tied to achievements so you have to reearn all of them, possibly needing a brand new character in some cases

The only real way to "lose" this is if they just stop supporting the PlayStation version outright.

Even if they make an announcement saying they won't make Trophies sync, they can still be eventually pressured into listening to their customer base.

I guess it wouldn’t be quick to respond to something like this? It feels like this wasn’t seen as an issue at first but now we just have to wait for it to make it through the internal feedback route to those who can approve any changes.

I play on PC so I don't have to worry about this particular thing but I think it must be a Bethesda thing.

Skyrim and Skyrim: Special edition is the same way on PC. At least on PC I was able to manually copy my save files from one to the other but the achievements and hours played are counted separately.

If you folks have a way of seeing time played, like on PC (/played), you should also check to see if it looks like your play time counters started over again.

Time played on PS has started over, not on individual characters though. Not really the issue though. Whoever is at fault really has no respect for our time put into this game. I can't really see any chance of continuing to play this if they don't fix this.

We are all in the same boat. Now imagine ESO is still a thing when Ps6 releases.
Who says we don't get a third list 🤔.

Oh, I just remembered I have to relearn all jewellery traits again for the summerset trophy. So crazy.

    Sad times to be alive.

Are you sure about this? The question was not about the time that PlayStation has tracked, but the time that ZOS tracks for each character. Literally, typing "/played" into the chat console box.

(Edit: Question might have been about PlayStation tracked time, but the example was the ZOS tracked time... this ambiguity is how things go awry in forum discussions)

I either went blind in both eyes or went crazy, the person who wrote this did not even turn on the game even once.
Trophy set that is specific to PS5 gameplay - There are no specific elements in the PS5 version, it is absolutely the same game with 0 changes in terms of elements. Incompetence in this answer just goes off scale.

That's just a canned answer pertaining to trophies and not this specific issue. It's not a PlayStation/Sony issue. Developers handle the trophies.
