Which Spirit did your character see during the Imperial New Life Quest?

This year we have a second quest-giver NPC alongside Breda, for the New Life Festival, and his daily quest involves leaving a message to honour the Imperial tradition of the Old Life Remembrance. The NPC says in his dialogue that we might be visited by the Spirit of whoever we leave the message for, and indeed I saw a Spirit while going through the objective. I'm assuming these spirits will be NPCs that the Vestige has met during questing, and that have died, and will probably depend on the content the character has cleared in the past, but I'm wondering which spirits appeared for others. I'll start (I'm putting this behind a spoiler tag because some players might have not gone through this story yet):

For me it was Shazah, from the Reaper's March main zone story, and it was very moving to see her as that quest was really sad.

I think you're right in terms of the spirit being someone involved in your questing history who died.

I didn't know there was a spirit.

The shrine was so crowded with people coming and going I couldn't see one appearing in the crowd. The first I knew about anything happening was when I got the option to ask the NPC about it, and I didn't know it was a spirit appearing until I read it on here.

I did it on two characters and didn't see any spirit.
Maybe I should have hung around the shrine for longer or something?

It is DAMN easy to miss. It appears behind you when burning. I quickly turned and caught it in a microsecond

I stayed back a couple of moments, because I thought maybe there'd be an actual message to read and was looking around the shrine (it was located in Auridon in my daily), and the spirit appeared next to the shrine for a moment. Someone people had just left, so I was alone during that bit, not sure if that mattered.

Varen Aquliarios for me. Apparently, he is still dead. It makes me wonder if people who instead sacrificed Lyris or Sai could get them as apparitions, as they are now both very much alive again. Somehow.

Otherwise, you can drop the arrow by the paragraph symbol (mouseover says "Format") and there's a click option for Spoiler in there.

The way I level characters, most of mine might not have any of the names under the spoiler tags above.

I do a lot of public dungeons and group dungeons, along with some delves, dolmens and so on. I get partway through the main quest, but not to the point of doing anything serious in Coldharbour. I do very few skill point quests beyond that.

That said, I have a couple of characters who are definitely exceptions. And some of the others have done skill point quests with notable deaths. I'll try to do Old Life with some of them and see what happens.

I've done it on 4 characters today, all of whom have done varying amounts of quests. None of them got a ghost. Even the ones who have done like 4 questlines

I thought for sure I would see the spirit of Stuga, but it must have been a holiday miracle and she survived another year to keep looking for us all.

I got one I honestly didn't expect.

King Laloriaran Dynar who died at the end of the game's main quest. I still keep his blade to this day in my bank so it really hit a note to see him again.

Khali, pretty much the only death that truly got to me. This was my first time doing this quest and I finally got past it by burying her helm. Was not ready to see that.

Needless to say, I paused for quite a while.
