Hello all, I love ESO and wanted to start a discussion on what you want the next new class to be? Since lately the formula (which is amazing by the way!) is every other expansion they release a new class! What other classes would you like to see in the elder scrolls online next year in 2021? Me personally I would want to see a conjurer that uses a lot of daedra summons to deal dps heal and e.c.t like a pet based class! That would be awesome! Let me know down below on what you want to see!

Well we already have that. Magicka Sorcerer right?

Warden also to a lesser extent but there you are.

Personally I had the MagSorc pet build for awhile which actually was great however they made some kind of change and now most of my group is dead before I can use Matriach Heal. There's also quite a bit of controversy (or at least there was) over pets blocking attacks and forcing NBs to decloak from an absurd distance away. I dunno let's hope they don't add another pet class.

I can def hear what the other person was saying about bringing the Battlemage into the game as a class. ZOS has been improving their hybrid options over the years and it would come as no surprise if Battlemage became a thing. Also, in Oblivion the Battlemage was a military 'unit' per say, part of the Legion as well as part of things like the Mages Guild.

Would make sense for them to write the book on Battlemage'n and show us all what a Battlemage could be. Although in fairness, any class can be reasonably made into a Battlemage. Not a bad idea for a class though. But no matter what they add, any distinctiveness of it will get watered down by things like Hrothgar, VD and Dark Convergenence. It won't matter how great the class is you'll just die anyways due to dumb mechanics that they had no choice but to introduce anything (as a last ditch effort) in order to put down some of these unkillable Ball Groups which over time have become an unkillable cancer in PvP.

Glad to see so many of them disbanding now. Sigh. Surely our cup runneth over fellas.

I'd like to see a weapon set based on a monk design. So instead of dual weapons, or sword and shield, to use gloves/gauntlets/etc. as the weapons and have monk type weapon skills with them; with the option of hiding the gloves/gauntlets. This could turn any class into acting similar to a monk.

Would also be nice to get rid of "classes", and just allow a single character to choose which tri-skill line to learn - so a single character could change from a "nightblade" to a "dragonknight" for instance by re-setting skill choices; or something similar. Probably not going to happen, but would be nice.

Please no Bards! But I suppose if they introduce them at least I can then try to kill them 😆

I'd like something like that, but you can pick any 3 lines from all (current) 15 lines of class skills. For example, DK's flame, Sorc's lightning and Wardens frost to make an elemental wizard.

I honestly don't think they plan to add new races and/or classes anymore. In keeping with their "Year Long Adventure" formula I don't really look to see much added that isn't carved out by that formula.

That isn't to say they are done making improvements, because the game IS constantly improving (though not always in the ways or at the pace people want or expect). It just seems like they aren't really going that extra mile to innovate or add significant new mechanics to the formula.

That said I find it totally baffling to hear actual CUSTOMERS saying they don't want new classes. That strikes me as nothing more than learned helpless fatalism. Basically it is a way of saying they are so disappointed in the company and have so little confidence in their ability to balance and fix existing systems, that the addition of new classes, while adding more to the game (and who doesn't like MORE toys to play with) would necessarily only make things worse.

I'd hoped I'd at least make it to 50 before I became THAT jaded and cynical. :p

Oh yeah, no way do I want another class. However, I know why I don't want one and will let y'all know in case a dev is reading: it takes 6 months before a character is ready to play. Why 6 months? Horses. That's it.

Not spending ~$150 per character to instantly max horses, too; $2~$3 per character, yup. $20~$30 to permanently max horses for the account? Definitely. It's a game. It's ephemeral. I'm gonna punt it on a whim someday. It's worth the price of a lunch to max it account wide, not a dinner per character.

Writs are the other thing. I have a stam & mag variant for each class already. I want to play 'em all just to experience each class 1st hand. Turns out the login time for cycling through that set of alts to writ & horse them each day isn't so bad AT FIRST. I'm about 4~5 months in now and 45m a day, 70% of which is login-screen has become one of the most dreadful grinds of any MMO I've ever played. Why? Because none of that time is spent playing anything at all.

Personally, I'd like to see the current "daily writ" and "daily horse" functionality handled automatically via something similar to hirelings. Log in once a day on ONE character to pickup emailed results for ALL characters. Progress rate is the same, drudgery gone, actual time playing (instead of re/logging) is up, now OK with making 100 alts and all kinds of new classes.

They should fix bugs, balance issues and fix sustain/skill morphs and not working skills in PvP before introducing another paywall class if you ask me.

People wanted stam whip/poison whip for as long as the DK class exist, skills for DK cost amazingly much for doing little (~5k for eruption which is worse version of mages guild skill but lasts bit longer wihile let's say templar/warden/necromancer has 2-3k lower cost it has synergy/heals/deals damage and is also AoE) , practically it is the only class without any good way to get back magicka and stamina (that burn/poison passive getting resource back is a pure joke). Also many morphs of skills are purely useless because you get same stuff from poppin' a potion. Fix the game before thinking about new class than we can talk.

a new class would be fine, but i'd prefer it if they made more character slots. i miss creating a new character, as i've used up all 18 slots and i would never delete any of the characters i've spent hours building up just to create a new one

It’s gotta be monk, bars or battlemage. And all of these could be very unique. I dont understand nor get people that say ‘well first they should fix (insert something generic)’ because they’ll do that AS WELL AS adding classes. Classes create hype, interest and more depth to the game. You cant let the game get stale, and by ZoS simply fixing bugs, the game would die out real quick.
ANYWAYS, all these suggested classes would have some great lore and purpose in the world or ESO, looking forward to any or all of them in the near future!

I do hope for spear / combat staff as a new hybrid weapon skill line, so that magicka will finally have melee weapon (monk style quarterstaff) and we will finally have spears again in a TES game. Btw. New World has spears, so it may be possible for ZOS to add this type of weapon as it is basically competition having something that was asked for a long time te be a feature in your game.

    New Class: Battlemage, DLCZone: Battlespire.

But really, I was excepting that this year gonna be Blackwood chapter and then the obscure Battlespire with the Battlemage class. And that didn't happened. Also if you don't know Both, the Warden class and Battlemage exist in the basegame files also we did encountered several npcs who are Battlemages, the Worms-cult of Mannimarco/Molag.

I dunno. Personally I want new weapons before new classes. I also want them to go all in on making the vanilla classes more like Warden and Necro where they have a defined class identity for all 4 roles and make them each feel distinct and worth using.

And then, and only then, do I want a new class. Others mentioned battlemage--while that's a good choice, I feel we deserve a Monk class more. Unarmed combat and martial arts in TES have been given the shaft lately. Hand-to-hand combat was a thing until Skyrim all but threw it out the window.

So not only is your comment nothing to do with this thread at all, but you’re essentially wanting to cut corners and cheap the game out..? I dont do writs for exactly that reason, they take way too long, but some people do, and they make a loooot of money that way. And the price they pay for that (no pun intended) is the time it takes. I’m not picking at just you, but I really dislike when people put their opinion on the forums.. but it’s not an opinion, it’s just a request which they havent thought about the consequences for.

I’d love a new weapon, but I’d double love a new class! MAYBE for making this year a filler year, they’ll add a new skill line AND a new class 👀

Honestly, I agree with you. I'd like new weapons, but I'd LOVE a new class--- and I'd REALLY, REALLY love a class change token. Yes, I know it's been discussed to death, but ZOS has never given an actual reason for why they refuse to put it in the game. My poor DK characters could use a change, and I wouldn't mind leveling their new class skills from 0. It really isn't about grinding up a new character--I know that's easy. I play on four servers and have over 10 alts on each-- 1 stam/mag morph of each class, and at least one of each alliance and battle role.

I have existing characters that I've spent a lot of time on over the years, but combat in their class has grown stale, and the ability to play them as a different class would give me a reason to play them again, without wasting all the time I put into skill points, research, story lines, ect.

Monk, Bard, or Artificer/Engineer have my votes as new classes.

Gauntlets, shuirkens, wands, runes, and spears/halberds have my vote as new weaapons

Thing is they have stated that they are not going to add a new class untill Cryo is stable. As adding a new class is adding new pvp content. Also adding new weapon's does effect achivements (motif pages ones) meaning it is a little bit messy than just adding a new one and then doing...."poof a new thing" and running off into the hill's giggling. hehe. So something will have to happen/change so additions like this are smooth.

But both would be cool, ESO is going to be here for a very long time, they will want to start spreading out classes. Happy to eat my words as would more weapons and tons of new classes like yesterday. lol

I had an really nice thread about the next class way back, well before the Warden was ever datamined. For anyone who is interested, you can check it out here.

I have no idea if we will get more classes or what they could be. Wardens and Necromancers were the only two classes which were missing.

Personally I hope we get a class focused on water/wind/ice. However, I’d say there is a better chance we won’t see more classes.
