I like it. The dresses in ESO look terrible when moving around since they're glued to legs. The vampire lord costume was dissapointing to me since it has this knee deep bit in front that makes it look like a bulky dress instead of an elegant overcoat. And since there aren't that many costumes showing some skin I welcome this one. I'm not sayng you shouldn't get a ball gown also but I'm not opposed to this one here. And if you want ball gown look there's always this one. https://eso.mmo-fashion.com/high-collared-ball-gown/ I'm all for new costumes but I prefer something new and unique over yet another dress.

completely disagree with the op, i really like it, it looks like you can fight in it and stealth around

and why should EVERY FEMALE COSTUME be a giant ball gown

    THANK GOD something different

and people calling this sexist, do you even realize your hypocrisy when you think females should all dress like pretty little ballerinas?

If the crotch flap is to hinder the sight of, uhm, private parts, couldn’t we just make the deal that no one, at no time, creates cameltoe? Just don’t pull your trousers to the bellybutton?

    PLEASE NO STRIPPER
OUTFITs 🙀 It is not pretty or cool.

And even if you like 'stripper outfits', that crotch flap is awful. Who designed this mess?

edit: and yeah, it would be better with either a skirt or pants. Although pants might make it too close to the Holiday in Balmora outfit.

Why tf would I like stripper outfits!! they’re degrading and there is enough of that garbage already in ESO.

I wanna see outfits that look like high-end haute couture and are artistically beautiful.

They also need to add more eyeshadow and makeup. 😊

If they want to make hooker outfits, they can magic mike the male population of ESO

    I don't mind the top - it's fairly Vampire 101, imvho.

But the hotpants and the crotch flap? D:

Y'know, if it just had the shorts and the boots were better, it might be ok, but the obsession with The Flaps generally - on the sides, down the front - is just baffling. It looks like a trilobyte is trying to crawl up her front. And I think I'm right in saying that there are outfit/costume items which manage happily without them - 'Holiday in Balmora' being one example. I'm just repeating the OPs sentiment tbh.

I love everyone being a fashion critic, btw. It's entertaining in a good way. :)

I think you're jumping to a conclusion which isn't there. The OP said it would look good as a gown, but their main objection is the stupid flap down the front because it looks stupid and ugly, not because it's impractical.

And to be honest, no one has actually said it's sexist.

I mean, it wouldn't even necessarily have to be a long skirt. How about one like this - shorter on the front, longer on the backside?

It would still show some leg and look much better than that weird flap.

I take your point but none of those posts are actually saying 'this is a sexist costume.' I started writing about interpreting words as being inherently sexist or not but decided it was exhausting. You win. You can be angry about people being unreasonably outraged if you like. I don't think that's what was happening here.

'Booty shorts' are just a way of describing a type of very short shorts btw.

I read it as unfitting and badly designed?! For many, a vampire lady should look classy and elegant. Maybe even aloof and haughty. That's not exactly what I think of when I see this outfit.

    Holy Almalexia.

Agree with OP. Either make it hotpants (silly, but at least coherent), put in a skirt or put on some pants. Crotch flaps and oversized shoulder pads are the plague of fantasy outfit design.
It’s very new and very original.

It is original because usually designers try not to do atrocious design. It is original the way the Bob Semple tank is original.

Still looking at this abomination... It's just not fitting. I know, many costumes contain recycled parts from older costumes. It's clearly visible here if you compare it with the "Holiday in Balmora" or "Buoyant Gentility" costumes. The whole problem is, all parts don't fit together. The upper part is rather elegant and classy, the lower... not so much. Also, the corset/coat combination looks more or less traditional and embellished, while that shorts look rather modern and simple. It's not harmonious as a whole.

Exactly this. Heck I have no problem with strippers. But those shorts and crotch flap are just flatly stupid. Give the girl pants like the Holiday in Balmorra outfit (which would be one of my favorites if ONLY you could dye the darn thing to a decent color!) OR a skirt. I don't care which. But PLEASE do away with those godawful shorts and the idiotic crotch flap!

    They meant one.

I'm female and I don't mind the shorts.

Or, rather, I wouldn't mind them if they came with opaque tights (pantyhose) and no crotch flap.

I, on the other hand, do not like long, full skirts much.

They're impractical and overly girly looking.

Don't mind them occasionally, but there are already too many of them in this game, relative to other things.

If they turned the shorts to fitted trousers, the flap to a coat tail, and the front opening to a high neck, it would look a lot better and more vampiric.

Yes, I find this really distasteful. The vest, the shorts, the flap, none of the pieces of this outfit work together. It looks like one of those "sexy Halloween costumes." It should have (tight) pants, no flap, no window, and the coat should have tails. I think that'd make it a good outfit.

I would LOVE to see it redesigned to this!

The crotch flap is probably just a nod toward modesty. Without it we're just inching closer to TERA.
And short-shorts plus thigh gap emphasizing high boots is too juvenile in comparison to the upper part of the costume -- which despite the cleavage window still has a much more mature look.
Short-shorts are also sort of anachronistic. Overall that is the one piece that is out of place in the outfit so they sort-of covered it up with the front flap. They were probably working hard to get the bare thighs in there somehow.
