I dont know why they turn ON servers if theres maybe half of the people who didnt pay and play when other people are in queue with paid eso+ and preorder greymoor. Again zos was prepared like always.

It will end in the same way like year ago, people who were able to create necro for free or enter elsweyr they still have this option nowadays : D

I think on NA, you cannot play it if you have it.

Nay. I pre-ordered and I'm playing it fine. PC NA. I'm not seeing this login queue stuff, either. I've exited the game to tweak addons, even, logged back in. Working wonderfully.

I'm just not sure how it works when some people insist it's not working, but I can't see any evidence of it. Sure, it didn't work this morning, and I know EU had further trouble, but, now? How does that work? I have no queues, can login and play wonderfully...but the forum still insists there are login queues in PC NA, and that people who bought Greymoor can't play it in PC NA.

I can confirm the pre-order stuff.

I Just bought Greymore from the official ESO site. The only link was to the pre-order package. I chose it, and it took my credit card info etc. Logged into game and had access to skyrim and all the pre-order bonus stuff was in a mail to me.

Zos can take the pre-order bonus stuff back if they want. Haven't used it. Just wanted access to skyrim and that was the only link available.

I think this might of helped zos in some way. I have been going around the new zone and doing a few things there, and I liked what I saw, so I most likely buy it as soon as they fix the issue.

Wow, this is like the cherry on top of my day. Not only did my plans for the day, and possibly the whole week, blow up right in my face this morning, but I come back this evening, get slapped with an hour long login queue (not entirely unexpected during a major launch) and then I see this thread sitting on the forums.

I'm IT guy... you always have daily backups but when f**k up happens somehow only old ones are available, and fresh ones were over-written or screwed or whatever.
It maybe shocking news, but large amount of data (reserve backups) are stored on TAPE drives. Yes, this is 2020 and tape drives are still used to store data. Clunky robot during the night is changing tapes to write parts of data on each of them.
It's not best way to store, but it is cheapest one, and you know what company owns this game...

Same for me btw. It got me to buy it, because I immediately liked the athmosphere.
I was and still am salty because of performance and bugs, but eeeehhhh, some non (less) laggy content to enjoy I guess.

Well, unless the boss is kinda shady and doesn't actually want the backups to work. Probably wouldn't want to work for them anyway if that's the case though.

I just came back to the game and made a new character so I can remember how to play, it was odd when i spawned in skyrim ruins and not summerset bit that i saw last night lol.

I don't even know how to get out of the skyrim zone now lol

Yes, backup is everything and those tape drives... especially when you got them as a legacy from previous admin, who instantly changed phone number after leaving, and your tapes are placed somewhere at another corner of the country and everybody thinks that they are working, but you connect and see that robot is jammed and last successful backup is from 2 months ago... that is what makes our work interesting.

TBH I'm fine with people getting it for free. I paid for the collector's and have been playing since beta. Some people may not be able to afford it and those people I hope keep it. The greedy ones, don't deserve it imo but I will sleep fine either way.

Everyone can run in Greymoor on PTS without a purchase, so I guess it won't be punished hard to have done so on live, more like an unintended sneak peak. More sad that people who purchased it have no access.

I'm lost for words. I mean... by now we should all know that the EU servers are unable to handle the flood of players who are trying to check in after a patch. We've all been there after Elsweyr launch and numerous other occastions in the past. We all know that the replies along the lines of "Oh, there seems to be a problem, but don't worry we're trying to identify the problems and we're doing our best to blablablablablabla" is just window dressing. Login queue is going to solve those mysterious "problems" for the time being until the login flood is decreasing.
BUT... a company that is unable to SORT OUT which player has bought the new expansion and has the purchased the right to access new content and who hasn't, this is just a new embarrassing level of incompetence.

I am still not able to access the new zone. I have opened a ticket requesting a refund for my Greymoor CE purchase made via Steam. I will sit this expansion out.

I have specifically mentioned that I am not requesting a refund for my yearly ESO+ sub. But if they do not honor this Greymoor refund, I'm thinking they might just lose me as a customer forever.

I mean, we can be philosophical and see it as a happy ending. Those who decided to support ZOS by buying Greymoor will emerge enlightened by new insights about the company they're dealing with. Those who didn't buy Greymoor will get to finish the quests overnight (and never return again, because drops from new zone is garbage). And finally the evil of the story, the greedy business who wants us to regrind vMA/vDSA for no reason, is punished by losing customers and money on new chapter. That's practically a parable in a nutshell.
