    Yep. Exactly this.

Hmm. Maybe it's a combination of starting out in MMOs that had Inspect, and never having gear that was worth inspecting, but I've never understood why people are so vehemently against it. Seems really minor.
edit: and seems a lot less intrusive and bothersome than random strangers /whispering you to ask about your motif/style/whatever. I don't want to talk to you, just use Inspect!

(and elitist jerks will find some reason to kick people who don't meet their silly standards, no matter what features a game has or doesn't have. /shrug)

This is true, but we still shouldn't be encouraging them. ;)

Id be fine with outfit styles being inspectable. If i'm not afk in town then i'm doing something and I don't feel like responding to randoms outside of dungeons/trials, so if they could just inspect whatever costume/style piece of mine they're curious about and be done with it, that'd be nice.

Gee. Why on Nirn do people get the impression that there are discriminatory elitist jerks playing pvp, trials, and battlegrounds? Couldn't be because people who want to be able to pick and choose and kick according to their own arbitrary standards and refer to other players who don't want to buy into that mindset as "babies" or "carebears".

No thanks. If someone can kill the enemies, I don't care what they are using. If I want to know which style they're wearing I'll whisper and ask. I'll even ask what dyes they used if I like how it looks. Since early access only one person I've asked hasn't replied.

I completely agree. That is totally the wrong outfit for springtime. After he's done eating his cheddar burger, he should really think about updating his wardrobe.

An inspect gear option would be about as welcome as asking to someone's skirt to check the color of their panties.

Lmao wow, asking about someone's outerwear and underwear isn't even in the same ballpark as seeing what kind of digital dye someone has on their digital hat, or what kind of digital hat their digital character is wearing.

As someone who came from WoW, I would advise against it. Sure it can be really useful to see what people are running, but if you're in a group and someone is running an undesirable set AND they are low CP, there's a good chance they will be kicked from the dungeon. Some things are better kept hidden, your builds being one of them.

I actually think pvp is the one place I would want to be able to check builds. In random pve, I don't care what you're using as long as someone has taunt, someone is healing, and enemy health goes down. In organized pve, your equipment is either preplanned or assumed to be meta anyway. In pvp you can't tell if you're facing good players, zergs, exploits, cheese, etc.

Some people take pride in their builds, especially if it's something out of the ordinary. They don't want people being able to inspect them to see what they're wearing. Also, it takes away the element of surprise if you fight them, which can be a huge downside.

It is part of experience and skill to guess what sets and combo will be used by your opponent. If it were me, I'll completely ban any advanced UI from PVP zones (i.e. all add-ons are automatically turned off by the game as soon as you enter PVP zone or BG). I had finely tweaked UI with add-ons and it really gives advantage over standard interface, which is not fair imo.

Really? That is just sad that people go that far. What does it matter or are they scared that people find out they are not actually good at the game mechanics but just rely on their builds despite saying otherwise.

I will never understand when people get so wrapped up in a game that they forget that it actually is a game, for fun and relaxation with other people.

    No thanks.

Funny thing is sometimes what you think of as bad is not really that bad at all. Once I was running a dungeon and 2 guys where just trash talking a particular set on and on that I happened to be wearing but at the same time commented how I was doing great damage. I said nothing at all. Completed the dungeon. Linked what I was wearing the entire dungeon, lol them and left.

I strongly feel it is time ZOS added inspecting a player to the game. It's not always looked at for gear score we will be able to look at the gear styles and also to see what the gear score is ;)

What ppl don't seem to understand in this post is that they already kind of added this.
You can inspect the gear and skills of anyone you group with.

    Using ESO Logs?
ZOS very specifically made ESO Logs so that players can't get that info until after the combat has happened and the log is uploaded, precisely because concerns about what players would do with that info in real time.

It's not quite the same thing as being able to roll into a dungeon, inspect your group members, and try to vote kick anyone not up to your standards.

Unless you're wearing a perfected Siroria + Mother's Sorrow + Zaan (insert bis meta for any role here), be ready to get kicked from any random normal dungeon before even engaging with the 1st pack of enemies.

Once, I went to Hel Ra normal with pug. Leader insisted us to toggle off anonymity of eso logs in settings, threatening to kick out those who will not do it.Then leader asked us to kill trash mobs and first boss. After, he/she just kicked several ppl, saying that looking at eso logs fight, they were not performing adequately. And this insanity was normal pug!

An OPTION to inspect a character sheet would be great IF it was based on a mutual interaction, like how direct trading or dueling works. Add the option to that scroll wheel and another option in settings to auto-deny requests, just like dueling and I don't see any problems.

As a GMC and someone who enjoys assisting others with their builds, this would be a huge help and time-saver when it comes to troubleshooting, finding solutions and crafting the right gear, especially for newer players that haven't fully grasped everything yet. All the variables including attribute & CP allocation, skills & bar layout, mundus & passives, gear sets, food/potion/poison combos. It's a lot for someone who doesn't understand how it all works together yet to translate properly to someone who does. So many times, I've been asked for help with non-meta builds and wasn't really able to give solid advice or answers because I couldn't just quickly look at their character sheet and assess their particular situation. If done right, this could be a very useful tool.
