Please tell me your team is also considering looking at the strength of shields in PvP as well, specifically Sorcerer's "Hardened Ward"?

@WrathOfInnos , you're looking at the issue from the standpoint of stats. But in reality, it's a problem of invested time and perceived gratification for the effort. Which is what the game's all about, to think of it. So, people have invested their time to run veteran Maelstrom, for rewards worthy of effort put into veteran mode. First, ZOS decided that veteran isn't worth as much and took away bonuses from existing sets, essentially nerfing them. Now, ZOS have decided that no, veteran clear is worth better weapons. This is where problem lies: now, our current weapons will be rewards worthy of time invested into normal Maelstrom. Weapon in your hands was earned in veteran; it must conform to standards set for reward for veteran content, because content didn't change, it didn't grow any more difficult. Why the update is so insulting is because now, to deserve weapons that are now deemed worthy for veteran clear, we must run veteran again despite the fact we did it already. I'm okay working harder for better weapons, I'm okay with new vMA HM, but I'm not okay with having to prove again that I earned my weapons in vMA and not nMA - when new standards for invested effort and reward are set, they better not belittle my already invested time, else it'll inevitably be a perceived loss. Not acceptable for a game.

@John_Falstaff I agree with some of your points. And it is certainly a matter of perception, because when looking at the stats nothing terrible has been done here. I also agree this would have been handled better with a vMA HM, but that hasn’t really been the way perfected drops are set up since vAS (partially vCR depending which pieces), since Perfected drops from non-HM vet BRP and Sunspire.

When you mention that bonuses were taken away from the veteran weapons, do you mean back in 2017 when they had a set bonus removed? If so I disagree with that. What people seem to be forgetting there, is that prior to this Maelstrom and Master weapons could not have a weapon enchant, adding one would replace their unique affect. So sure, at this time the Maelstrom Inferno for example lost its 189 Spell Damage, but in return it gained an enchant slot that could work in parallel with the unique effect. Most chose to use this for an Infused Berserker glyph and gained 452 Spell Damage (which also applies to both bars, while the previous 189 was only active on the vMA bar).

So this is now the 3rd iteration of Maelstrom and Master weapons, and each time they have changed it has been an improvement. This new Greymoor version is not at all the same as the first versions. Don’t let anyone rewrite history today by saying the original ones were better.

    So @ZOS_BrianWheeler
You are saying that the weapons will not be AUTOMATICALLY upgraded to perfected Versions. Could this mean that there might be a way to do so manually. ;)

Can we get the GS mount in the crownstore next if we're just going to ignore all the hard work, dedication, and hours that people have put into vma by refusing to upgrade them automatically? /s Jk but this is kind of a low blow. :/ If the goal is to have players revisit vma again, then add some other incentive like new sets or whatever. There's other ways of giving players incentive to rerun old content and play rng without undermining their efforts.

Are you aware that healing isn't all that big of an issue but rather the naturally high health pools and the abstinence of being burstable for most of the time, due to casttimes on ults, lack of offensive CCs.
    @ZOS_BrianWheeler

I tend to agree, I now regularly see top players 1vXX and take no damage despite simultaneous multiple debuffs and ultimates. If anything you need to look at how much damage LOS and structures absorb with players playing ring-a-rosie around and in structures. It's simply ridiculous and it favors heavy armor to a point of unfairness.

Thank you, Marius. This is the true cancer. I fear, there is nothing to be done though. This line of sighting will remain until the end of times. They could however look at the natural damage mitigation that the most notorious LoS classes bring to the battlefield.

It's a murky matter as to whether it was a significant nerf or not; and it's not even a given that adding, say, 1k magicka to staff would be a significant buff, because you don't spend a lot of time on back bar anyway, so perfected vMA weapons may only be marginally better. But this is the whole point. It doesn't matter, because it's a matter of perception, and perception in the game is everything. You're judging it stat-wise, and stat-wise, yes, current weapon isn't changing, but my point is, it isn't relevant because from the standpoint of perception, we're about to suffer a huge nerf: we're about to have our vMA weapons downgraded to nMA weapons. It's all that matters, really. The relationship between running vMA and having a weapon that is reward for vMA in inventory must hold. Else it's a disrespect to our effort invested in running content and perception of reward. What else are we playing this game for?

Why? I actually want to know the real reason. Why can't you change our original Maelstrom weapons to Perfected?
Adding perfected weapons is a great idea btw, but surely you can just buff the ones we already have and add unperfected to the new loot table for nMA. Why add an unnecessary grind to those who have already earned and proven themselves of these new perfected weapons?

Edit: Also... who thought this would be a good idea? I'm a huge fan of this game, but this has to be one of the dumbest ideas you've had. Ya know that grind that everyone complains about? Well here you folks go, more grind!

So I farmed for months on PS4 to get all of my vMA weapons. Then I switched to PC and farmed all over again for all of my vMA weapons. And now you want me to farm AGAIN for weapons that I have more than earned.

*** is wrong with you at ZoS? Every single update you have to do something to alienate those that support you. Every time without fail.

What kind of reasoning is this? We already completed both in Vet and now you're making us re-do it literal years after the fact [snip]. make the necessary changes to bump up the cp 160 items to perfected ones

What the hell... Dozens!!! Dozens!!! Of Maelstrom weapons going to the trash can? Not to mention all those upgraded to legendary. We're talking about hundreds of mats going to waste aswell??

If I've done VMSA to death and earned those rewards I am de facto worthy of the "perfected" version. Which BTW is what these items WERE before ZOS NERFED them in the first place what the hell!!!!!!!!!!

To be fair I don't mind the sound of this focus.

As for vMA. It's not like you HAVE to farm it. Your current setups not getting nerfed. Sure you want the absolute few % then yes you going to need to farm. But players that ~1-2% matters for are good enough to blitz thru in under 30mins.

As for heal reduction in Cyrodiil things have got tanky heals for days. I'm open to them trying.something there.

But @ZOS_BrianWheeler anything on an extra group queue for battlegrounds and locking NOCP campaign again or action against boosting??

Battle spirit changes is questionable to say the least. 20% healing nerf. This change is just another kick in the gut for solo and small scale.

And the decision to not make arena weapons on live become perfected by default next patch is basically a big *** you to anyone who spend time farming that place. It's not that we can't do it, but we rather not.
