So you're offering our weapons we got on vet to everybody for doing normal, and making us farm vet again. Awesome. Can you temporarily allow quitting threads on the forums at least?

Just no, to the fact that we can't have the option to get our current owned vMA/DSA weapons to perfected without refarming that place. It's crappy because of rng drops. It would be different if we have the choice of item that we get at completion.
What a waste of my hours. I'm an average player and not able to farm vMA/DSA easily or quickly. I earned those "perfected" weapons already, it should be auto upgraded!

What insane *** wanted Crag trials to have imperfect weapons? I honestly hate the imperfect/perfect weapon/gear thing. But I doubt it's going anywhere. But if these changes go through, the Master and Maelstrom weapons we already have should upgrade to perfect because the way the rng works would probably make a lot of long time players leave the game because why should we have to farm content we've done a billion times to get what we need all over again? I sincerely hope you guys reconsider these changes. I feel like you make these inane controversial changes to kill the game.

    Greetings Gang!

We’d like to take a moment to share a preview of combat updates coming with Update 26 (Greymoor). The full list of changes will be revealed with the patch notes next week, but for now we’d like to provide some insight on our goals. This update is primarily focused on reinforcing itemization standards, improving quality of life for werewolves, and a few adjustments regarding PvP balance. As many of you are already aware, the team recently experimented with some significant changes to Light and Heavy Attacks. We’d like to again thank everyone who participated in the off-cycle PTS test of those changes, and remind you all that those changes will not be included with Update 26. Today, we’ll be focusing on the other changes that will be appearing next week on the PTS for Update 26.

U26 not only has Vampire updates, but Werewolf updates as well! We want to keep the “in your face” action of the Werewolf and also want to add rotation options when you’ve transformed into this ferocious form. For example, Pounce now has a follow up attack afterwards that also has an execute scaled on Bleed. We’re also making adjustments to allow buffing and debuffing to give a sense of being a pack leader. Sustain for werewolves is also something we noted needs an adjustment, so Hircine’s Bounty now has some added functionality if you’re already at full health and don’t need the heal from the ability. We believe these changes will keep the Werewolf playstyle competitive and entertaining for all players!

About a year ago, we started our standardization pass and we’re finishing that off in U26 with Monster Masks/Shoulders. Remember standards aren’t written in stone, but we now have equal measures of power and performance from these 2 piece sets; some are having their 1 piece adjusted to better suit the function of the set. Valkyn Skoria, for example, now gives Spell Penetration rather than Max Health as this is a damage-based set.

Other sets are receiving functionality adjustments (damage values, trigger conditions, cooldowns, etc.) to follow their intended functionality based on their sourcing. A good example of this is Tremorscale: enemies hit by the damaging effect of this ability are no longer snared, but instead have their Physical Resistance reduced. To help with performance, some sets are having their “chance to proc” removed and instead now have a cooldown. Again, we’ll look at Tremorscale as an example: we are removing the proc chance from this set and increasing the cooldown damage. Note that because the cooldown is increasing, the damage is also increasing.

Continuing on itemization, we are also introducing Perfected Veteran Maelstrom and Perfected Dragonstar Arena weapons. This has been a long standing request by the players, and it finally brings these two arenas up to par with others that add Perfected versions. These are earned by completing Veteran mode in each of those arenas and will have additional bonuses much like other Perfected sets. Completing Maelstrom or Dragonstar Arena will now grant Blue versions of the non-perfected weapons from these arenas. In this pass, we are making a few adjustments to ALL Arena weapons to meet standards. One example of this is the BRP weapon set Spectral Cloak: this item set now increases your damage done and reduces your damage taken whenever you deal damage with Blade Cloak, rather than granting Major Protection for 3 seconds after casting. This fits the concept of Blade cloak as it deals with damage as well as protection.

Lastly, in this update we are making some small adjustments to Critical Resistance and Healing affecting PvP specifically. Over the years, we’ve seen healing become quite volatile in PvP with the ability to negate a high amount of damage in just 1 ability cast for many players at once. This isn’t just 1 ability that causes this type of health bar swinging, so we are making adjustments to Battlespirit which now reduces healing taken by 60% instead of 50%.

Gearing up for PvP isn’t a simple task because of the need for Critical Resistance. The other issue regarding itemization in PvP is that it’s very limiting due to the need for building Critical Resistance. This means other popular traits and builds aren’t as viable in PvP unless you’re a glass cannon or top-end player. To bring more viable stat and set combinations into PvP play, we are now granting a baseline Critical Resistance. In conjunction with that change, we are making several adjustments to item sets which grant Critical Resistance. We also are making changes to the Impenetrable trait by reducing the value.

We hope these updates enhance your day to day adventures in ESO, and we’ll see you in Tamriel! We look forward to your feedback regarding the changes above, as well as item sets and your general playtesting experience when Update 26 hits PTS next week!

I hope there is some thought put into the bonuses for the new perfected weapons.

For perfected blackrose 2H and 1h&s for example, the bonus is more useful as these are decent frontbar pieces (even though they're not the best).

In the case of the maelstrom bow and destro and the master bow, you backbar these weapons so the bonus doesn't get used much at least in PvE (where maelstrom bow and destro are used).

For the master bow and perfected blackrose dual wield, even though you'd backbar these weapons, you could still spend time on your backbar in between fights and benefit from the bonus. The perfected blackrose resto and DW are the best example. The 129 mag and stam recov for the resto and dual wield respectively CAN be useful when moving from one point to another (finish a fight in courtyard of a keep then move to 2nd floor of keep). You can travel with your backbar active and use the bonus for however any seconds you're gonna travel.

In the case of maelstrom bow and destro, the bonuses being something like increasing the potency of applied enchantment by 5-10% for example would be useful and worth farming for.

    Just my 2 cents.

Wooow. So you're putting the bonus back on the weapons that were taken and making us farm them again? You're also giving the weapons we earned away on a [snip] easy mode of MA. Great use of our yellow upgrades and transmutes. I hate vMA, I earned my weapons and my flawless titles. I don't want to go back, I can't stand it. It's a glitchy and RNG filled mess.

This is a legitimate slap to the face to all the players who earned their weapons. You guys keep solidifying my decision to not sub and buy Greymoor.

    My question:

Current 7 gold Impenetrable provides 1806 Crit Resist. How much Crit Resist we get from will 7 gold Impenetrable + base Crit Resist in U26?

This is what I am most curious about. It would be very ZOS of them to make players even more tanky if both values don't even out, or add up to less than the current total.

Oh, are you telling us you are going to log into all of our accounts and farm them yourself using our characters that completed the arena @ZOS_BrianWheeler ? That's very generous of you. Such dedication is rare these days.

But seriously, it would be fair if the people that completed vMA would get their weapons upgraded. If you are worried that nobody is gonna rerun that content, think of all the low-CP or low-skill players that are now able to finally get MA weapons in nonperfected. There is no good reason to make everyone refarm these items! At that rate you might as well raise the item level again and have us refarm everything! This goes against the very spirit of everything the introduction of Champion points stood for!
This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

Are you kidding me? I've been playing since nearly launch. Two platforms. Countless vMA clears on both. If you are going to continue punishing veteran players who have spent so much time and money on this game, I'm not sure I even want to play anymore. The lag is bad enough on PC that its almost completely unplayable for myself and many other end-game friends, and now you're saying we get to farm vMA another hundred times for our BiS bow/inferno so the people that started playing last week can light attack their way thru normal Maelstrom and pat themselves on the back when they get it at level 15. How about you either 1) Upgrade the weapons we've already farmed, golded out and transmuted to perfected so you don't lose your vets. Or even 2) Make literally any of the other sets that drop there worth something so the people who can't complete vMA will feel like they've accomplished something. You're not changing anything when the same people who can't complete vMA now are still not able to complete vMA to farm the BiS weapon which will now be perfected...

    End rant.

Your current VMA and DSA Weapons will not be automatically upgraded to Perfected versions.

Why are we getting punished for playing the game , i had to do hundreds of runs to get the weapons i want and at a time when there was no transmutation. Why are we being forced to do the same old content again when we have already put a lot of time into it.

Most of my thoughts have already been said via others in terms of so many other options besides forcing a regrind of the exact same content for perfected vDSA and vMA:

    1) Make perfected drop from an added HM, no sigils used, etc.
    2) Upgrade current earned gear to perfected - very easy it would seem, but not desired for whatever reason

If a major reason is to simply funnel players to engage with content again (even though many still do?), perhaps one option is to allow for exchange/upgrade. For example, I just beat vMA, instead of a chest at the end there is a coffer drop after turning the quest in. The coffer has the perfected weapon. OR you can choose to exchange a non perfected for its perfected counterpart - ie exchange non perfected inferno for a perfected inferno of any trait. This would eliminate the need of newer players to vMA countless hours of farming if they get non perfected in nMA, as well as help veteran players reengage with the content and not have to regrind the same number of hours they already have.

    I'm a console player...

I find this very troubling. I spent quite a bit of time learning mechanics and making it through VMA the first time. The comparison between normal and vet are no where close. I've lost count on the number of times that I have went through, all the while looking for the fabled inferno staff. I know it has to be well over 100 times. I've gotten so so many bows, daggers, mauls, lightning staffs, ice staffs, great swords, .... the list goes on and on. The only inferno's I've ever seen were linked by other players showing off their hitting the lottery.

I think I went through VMA maybe 5/6 times last weekend alone. Just looking, hoping, dreaming of finally getting the inferno. But alas, I never hit the powerball!

Now, based upon this post from ESO, my feeling is "why"???? Why continue to farm for the staff when whatever I get will probably be either 1. Nerffed or 2. be adjusted to irrelevant without whatever the newest upgrade is. Why run VMA until the patch?

What troubles me more than all above? Not that there are going to be changes. Changes in the game are an inherent part. We've went through this where they pretty much made 75% of the VMA weapons useless. But, that the community managers whom are responsible for the communications here dropped a "bomb" of information, with limited context, and then make no further responses to level out the response from players.

They could have said something like. (Example and not Real) - hey, we want to let you know that there are new perfected VMA weapons in the patch... The existing power, levels, etc. of your current VMA weapons will not be affected. New values will add to the perfected versions. Normal versions of VMA will drop inperfect versions"

Sort of like creating 3 versions -- Normal, Vet, Vet Perfected.... Simply the difference between blue, purple, or gold doesn't cut it. Or, maybe make VMA similar to the undaunted (key store) where we can select a weapon type (staff, or 2 handed, or 1 handed) and have a chance to pull a specific weapon type.

Not force us to run through the lottery all over again to get something that is already almost impossible to even receive.

So it seems like there are 3 groups of people, all being affected in different ways with the perfected arena weapons change.

Players without arena weapons: Just got a large buff, casual or new players can finally use Malestrom Staves and Bows. The DPS floor has been significantly raised. Vast majority of the population, but apparently none of these people have forum accounts.

Players with Arena weapons that don’t like doing arenas: Entirely unaffected by the change. They have the exact same gear and stats before and after Greymoor. Infuriated by this, and apparently make up a majority of forum accounts.

Players with Arena weapons that like doing arenas: Willing to play the game, and will be rewarded with minor upgrades for doing content they enjoy. Small buff to the DPS ceiling (1-2% max). Apparently very few of us in this category, but seemingly the target audience for the perfected weapons.

LOL, these changes are happening. Best scenario is to make it actually useful. But you have to understand, apart from the Asylum destro, the bonus perfected weapons often give is not marginal but not game changing either. 1450 physical penetration on blackrose 2H is 2.5% more damage.

I got 18 characters and flawless conqueror on every stam and mag classes. A dozen vMA inferno, a dozen bows, master weapons en masse.

Difference is I've been wanting a perfected version of these weapons.

Now give me a perfected version of all the trials set like VO, AY etc.

Add a hm for perfected weapons instead and give us a REASON to farm all over again.. We had to learn vma for weeks and months just to get an ice staff...and now youre giving it away on normal difficulty? What's next, godslayer for 5k in crown store?

Someone explain the perfected weapons to me.
So there are normal, veteran AND then perfected versions of the same items already somewhere? Huh?

When Wrothgar came out, the weapons were perfected. I don't know when (I was on a break) they stripped the weapons of those perfected bonuses to what they are today. They are taking those same perfected bonuses and having perfected weapons drop from vMA when they update the loot table. Right now weapons only drop from vMA and they're the best vMA weapons available.

After these changes, the weapons we have now will be non-perfected and will drop in nMA. And we'll have to all farm vMA for the updated weapons.

^ No I don't want to have to farm VMA or Dragon Star again, I have the max amount of toons with more than One weapon each. No thank you to these changes

And to be frank, I'd rather just them changing my weapons to perfected for sure.

My most important point was about making the perfected bonuses ACTUALLY USEFUL which makes it that they might very well not be...

Are you aware that healing isn't all that big of an issue but rather the naturally high health pools and the abstinence of being burstable for most of the time, due to casttimes on ults, lack of offensive CCs.
    @ZOS_BrianWheeler

I tend to agree, I now regularly see top players 1vXX and take no damage despite simultaneous multiple debuffs and ultimates. If anything you need to look at how much damage LOS and structures absorb with players playing ring-a-rosie around and in structures. It's simply ridiculous and it favors heavy armor to a point of unfairness.

    Lol ok.

After taking some time - as a few others have said, if Perfected versions are tied to specific achievements, I wouldn't mind as much, but if that is the case, please for the love of kehrkahrekhr don't make getting a particular weapon RNG!

And in that case, make the blue versions weaker than the veteran versions.

What I expect to happen, though, is all of us that farmed our correct weapons will have to go back and farm them from the same instance with the same RNG to get the same weapons we have now with an additional set bonus...

Your current VMA and DSA Weapons will not be automatically upgraded to Perfected versions.

They should be, and I say that as somebody who's never gotten one.

Further, it would be easy for you to do (perhaps in an earlier patch than the other changes).
