So, take Monday off so I can read the patch notes and start playing on Tuesday!

Sounds about right! Luckily while its downloading we can read it

Wouldn't bank on that. They have held posting them until the PTS was online before!

Yes, and that is usually because the devs are late getting stuff to Gina. (or so the rumor goes) I wonder if she is just as fearsome from home, now that she can't go to the devs and camp at their desks until they fork over what she wants.

She can webcam over: Skype, teams, zoom, webex, etc...

If only its sections were less misleading and had incorporated video/picture uploading feature along with larger limit of words pee report.

What's misleading about the sections? We can look at updating them if they are confusing.

Not my original post, and I wouldn't say "misleading," but...

I have often floundered at the /feedback, Impact menu that includes choices like "crash / blocks progress" and "pleasant surprise." What category really fit the feedback we were supposed to leave for the HA/LA changes a few weeks ago? How about wrong text in a quest? It doesn't really impair functionality, but it's not really cosmetic, either.

I think the Category and sub-category menus work pretty well.

The text box is a bit short.

Finally, many times I've wanted to upload a screen shot that I've taken earlier when the problem occurred rather than just check a box knowing it won't show what I wanted.

Note: In the unlikely event someone actually checks to see what /feedback I've left, most of my submissions are on SirPrizedofTen or SirTanToDye

Yes, certainly an interesting choice. "we would appreciate not spoiling the main story" is an appeal to people's good nature rather than an actual restriction.

Main story was spoiled as soon as we knew a character many had sacrificed to stop the planemeld was inexplicably reappearing to lead it. Immersion will always be tainted by that in a lot of our minds. But I guess sell outs are an integral part of the real world, no reason to be surprised they occur in the virtual world as well.

The main quest is 6 years old! I have always considered the option to sacrifice any other companion than Varen forced, not because of my bias towards a character, but story-wise it made the most sense. It was Varen's arc, not Sai's or Lyris'. I think it was a mistake the devs let you made that choice, but most likely they did not have any plans with the characters at that time, so they added a bit more drama and replay value with that choice.

I am glad they revisited their story and made it canon that Varen is sacrificed. Most people like the companions!

They did it cannon? Don't think so, they even said that Sai "mysteriously returned" if player sacrified him. They even told us that his returning will be explained but we got only "i don't know what happened and how i returned" bs. And I think the same lame approach was used for lyris returned but not sure (never sacrified her) so someone might clarify that.

There is so many options that can be confusing sometimes. especially for non-english speakers.
For example: when I log on specific character and group with specific ally - some specific quest in specific zone don't work ("kill 40 people" gladiator quest in this case).
So it confuse me how to report such bug as I know how to reproduce bug but idk in where does it bug:
    1. Or it is "Block Progress - Quests - Quest-Related Gameplay" ? because killing opponents to meet requirements is not working with this bug.
    2. Or is it "Block Progress - Quests - Other" ? Because there is no option to choose that say about character-based bug.
    3. Or is it "Delays Progress - Quests - ..." ? Because picking this not-working quest prevent me from possibility to complete other gladiator quests at same day.
    4. Or is it "Impairs Functionality - Quests - ..." ? Because quest simply not working.
    5. Or finally it might be "... - Alliance War - ..." ? Because to fill quest you have to participate in alliance war type of pvp and due to bugged characters are of same alliance.

The sections got a lot better with their last update, but I still often have trouble finding a fitting one.
It's mostly either because my report would fit into multiple primary categories and I cannot see the secondary ones before I select a primary category, so I have to try them all one by one to see what's there as I still haven't memorized them. Or because there simply is no fitting category, but also no generic "doesn't fit anywhere", so I am forced to pick one and hope for the best. I also recall there being no proper categories for topics related to guild trading, guild management, the guild finder, guilds in general, or anything related to the UI (with only a few exceptions).

The severity selection also lacks a neutral choice of sorts. It's all either "the game is exploding", or "all hail ZOS". Sometimes I'd just like to report a "this could work better".

Overall I feel it's rare to find categories that fit what I try to report whenever I use the ingame feedback tool.

Adding to this, if we do go back the the support site to add a real screen capture or additional information, we cannot update the ticket.

For example... I am trying to report instances of misplaced NPCs (static, not attackable) and the best I could do ended up as "Cosmetic/Combat/Other" and who knows what got sent in for the screen cap. (for my 'security', ticket won't let me look at it) The text is almost worthless because I was in a place where mobs were going to respawn any second, so I really intended to come back and update it.

50 pages of Natch Potes?! I think we're going to need some extra time to test this one.

Well, this is a little strange for me. Normally, I turn on my gaming PC, load the launcher, and drive to work so it can update while I am gone. Now, I am not sure when to turn it on and load the launcher. It does not need to be on all day. I can't make decisions like this so early on a Monday! :cold_sweat:

The ingame feedback feature has various issues:
Starting with the lack of proper categories, there is not a single one which refers to combat balance but two to tell you about things that are good.
Then the sub categories don't really help as feedback often falls into multiple categories.

When reporting bugs for sets there is always the issue that you can't link a set piece into your feedback to make it more clear which set you are talking about and avoid misunderstandings.
Examples are sets that have a different name than their effect, example would be the Maelstrom weapons which have completely different names for their effects than what the item name suggests.

The char limit is way too low to give proper feedback in all detail especially when talking about balance or things that effect multiple parts of the game and have to be explained.

The tool to link screenshots or additional files hasn't worked a single time for me, I had to mail Rich Lambert my screenshots so that he could hand them over to the QA team, that's unnecessary and impossible to do for anyone without an active forum account.

If the history is trus, and I have not looked, this would support the basic feel that Greymoor is not that large.

    Quality, not quantity.

Let's wait to see what the pages actually contain before getting whipped up into a frenzy over how many there are?

It could take anywhere from 6-8 hours to tomorrow. Patch notes generally come out mid to late afternoon, when things are going well, and if not, perhaps this evening.
