Its funny that.. Investing a little bit into your product and that makes the consumer feel wanted.

Ive gone back to gw2 and enjoying a ping of 180 ms from Australia, numbers never seen in eso.. Ever.. Its just those little things that make people happy

180 still awful is it not? I always thought the lower the number the better the performance. Am I wrong? :#

You're not wrong, as far as it goes, but a ping is an indication that the server responded to your probe.

It's technically not the same thing as the server giving a calculated response to the actions in the game at the point you're pinging it.
Sometimes the gameplay that is happening in the server isn't 'served' back at the same time your ping is bounced back.

Additionally, sometimes the ping, and the game info the server is sending don't follow the same network pathways between you/server/you, either.

Correct... BUT real world physic needs to happen and light needs to pass under that huge ocean to, funny enough, other countries. Not all are blessed to live next to the server or in the same country...

I’ve heard that the Internet in Australia is notoriously bad. Not sure of the validity of that. Just what I read on t’Internet.

Edit: Just to clarify, when I say “notoriously bad” I am referring to speeds and reliability.

    Another bit of info:

PC/US, Usually have a 90 ping that can vary +/- 10, and that can happen when the game appears frozen on occasion.

I've seen plenty of ping times of ~2600, and even 6000+ on occasion that just pop outta nowhere, even while adventuring alone in the barren areas or while just sitting trying to decide what to do next in the barren areas.
It's not only bigger towns that trigger it.

Being a player from NA server moved to EU, I will say that EU population in severely lacking when compared. I believe a possible merger sooner or later wouldn't be a bad idea quite honestly. Also there seems to be a sever audio lag causing a massive drop in fps since elsweyr update.

Overwatch ping -> 60. ESO ping ->160. Overwatch freezes or skill misfires - like never. ESO freezes and not working abilities - every minute deal in peak hours. Overwatch settings -> all Ultra, no fps drops. ESO setting in trial/PVP - as minimal as possible, no shadows and reflections etc, fps fluctuates 40-60. Something doesn't adds up here in bad connection and bad PC theory.

you should try playing it, that's a pretty amazing game i find the story really well made with many political intrigues. Free till level 35 i think and second expension (havensward) free for everyone.
Also you can play on Japanese servers (close to Australia than ESO US and EU servers).

Interesting, I'm an EU player with US chars too, and I see way less people on the US server :P Maybe you should try to play during EU peak hours.

Yes please let us discuss what ZOS should have and haven't done yet for another 25 pages, with no sign on the horizon
    of something ever getting fixed.

    Long story short:
They erased the previous thread of "upgrades coming right after the log in Q was gone"
because it was a) a flat out lie, b) bad business for them considering the backlash when changes weren't made and the uproar of fed up of promises users was getting out of hand.
They restarted the whole debate, with this farce of an excuse-thread as of why upgrades haven't come yet, only to have some of us let the topic die in peace , trying to ware us off and not to criticize them hard.
Now they are telling us that upgrades might come or might not
Typical carrot and the stick tactic.

I have enough of it, and won't buy anything untill I see considerable changes in PvP lag and balance.
And I don't mean a short term fix that will be reverted with the next patch.
I strongly advise all of us to do the same.

For an FPS shooter game, it is pretty bad. For an MMO, it isn't bad, yet it also isn't ideal. For me, anything lower than 200ms is OK. Above 200 ms and it starts to become easier to see the time lag in your actions.

With all of the changes on PC EU, my latency is about 180 ms. That is up from 150 ms.

Not continuing to elaborate within the old one as of what's happening, and opening a thread outside their official forums equals burying the whole matter. At least these are the vibes I am getting. It may still be there, but tell me how long did it took you to find it. And what is the purpose of this very thread?
They both are on the same topic, they both will have the same fate, when the 3rd upgrade heads up note by Matt will come. Let's hope it will be posted somewhere that official responses should be posted this time

Zenimax like bethesda don't care about improving their games, they always rely on modder to do the job of fixing it after players have done free beta test for them.

just watch this epic video at 10:20 (this resume what is Zenimax/Bugthesda DNA)

The way to deal with it, is get it in the public eye. Get on SOCIAL MEDIA and let everyone know about it, sure fire way to put a rocket up their behinds.

Posting in a thread on a forum no one outside a small percentage of the playerbase hardly ever sees, will not get results.

Also anyone visiting their stand at E3 be sure to voice your displeasure about the state of the servers/game if you are having issues. Letting people know in person is far more effective...
Still in the queue, spamming "F"...

It's in my 'Participated' threadlist, so 10 seconds
I have to also say that I'm a European player, I'm also affected - however not so much as some other people. I think it has to do something with the fact that I'm not a member of any guild, and my friend list is basically empty - that causes way less data traffic for status updates than for most players. And I have to say: if that's right, then ESO's flaw list is in worse shape than I thought before.

The only thing I want to see on top of all of this is the servers moved out of frankfurt. Why on earth you guys chose to have the servers in one of if not THE WORST server hub locations in Europe for PC-EU is beyond me. Cost probably? - regardless I know it would take time to relocate and so fourth it would have to but I think people would appreciate a couple of days of downtime if it mean't they were in a better server hub location which by default help stability massively.

PvP - No fights, 130 ms. In Black rose prison. 100-150 ms. On German servers connecting from the UK, fibre connection 50 down 10-20 up. I should not be getting those kinda of latency issues in PvP with a connection like that.

PvE Frame skips/jumps in vBRP, Sunspire and Likely vMoL( haven't been there in a while). I cannot understand for the life of me how for a game that does not have high system requirements can perform so badly and so inconsistently.

I completely appreciate that you are trying to put the effort in and trying to fix it but you have to understand it feels like its coming to late for a lot of us veteran players. 4 years of this and worse and only now is it being dealt with and while I am fine with waiting until the end of the year/Q1 2020 - the fact its taken this long for anything to be done about it has had a lot of us who have played since beta deeply frustrated. You need to prioritise performance over content for a little while hell many of us have said you should just skip 1 content patch at least once to do a pure performance patch. Obviously not everyone at the studio can focus on this because they wouldn't be qualified for it or have the know how but everyone anyone who has experience and qualifications to actually help contribute to performance based projects should of been focused on to get everything done ASAP.

I am well aware of the fact that a great deal of things are not up to the studio but some of this should of been fixed already and dealt with a year ago and then some.

And for gods sake, first the multi-national pings your game does just to get to the servers. I have to go through 5 different countries just to connect to the EU servers from the UK. No other game forces me to do that in a European location i.e connecting with a german server in any other game 25 ms, connecting with PC-EU server in frankfurt - 70ms.. like what the hell. The traceroutes I've done are absurd just to look at.

i can still remember a pre release pvp trailer where this guy was boasting about how their server could handle 200v200v200 completely lag free.. 5 years later and us costumers are still begging for improvements even outside of pvp. 150-200ms during the evening just doing qsts is beyond rediculous while also having poor framerates with a high end computer.
