So does this mean we have a DLC sized zone coming for Q1? It would be kind of difficult to start this story without some new DLC type of content. A dungeon DLC could not properly kick off a year long story but I guess it could. I suppose they might just throw in a couple of long quests like the intro to Murkmire quests and the Jee Lar dailies. I guess we will know when the PTS is updated.

Why is it always the people that scream the loudest about the lore have no clue about the lore of Elder Scrolls? Instead of saying Zos broke the lore, how about actually reading the lore or show evidence that the lore is broken. I would love for some people to show some evidence that this cannot happen in the Interregnum, the time that ESO takes place.
Agreed. I would also love people to come up with something more original than "Oooohhh Dragon Break". Aside from that very localised bubble in Rubble Butte, which is specifically called out as a Dragon Break reference, everything has a viable alternative explanation.

On the topic of actual dragons - I don't know how a "war against the dragons" fits in very well with the whole "dragons are in hiding" thing. It is true that there are some around, and they are certainly not extinct, but they are still supposed to be scarce as of 2E 373, and that was 200 years ago.

They could make the story about the fact that Abnur forced their hand, made them fight back over death/enslavement. (I assume Abnur is going to try to enslave dragons to force them to fight for them in Cyrodiil) It’s almost the perfect time too because any dragon sighting by people can be written off as just one of Molag Bal’s daedric titans flying around.

Well they basically won't reveal more than we already know now thanks to the datamine. They'll show us some images and actual footage though.

    Their initial plan was:

    Q1: feature DLC
    Q2: Chapter
    Q3: dungeon DLC
    Q4: zone DLC

If I remember correctly. Last year we got another dungeon DLC in Q1 instead of a feature DLC so who knows.

Well, according to There Be Dragons there were a few remaining dragons by the time of Tiber Septim (Which is a couple hundred years after the events of ESO. I don't see why a war against some of the Dragon War survivors is impossible.

Interested to get more info on all this stuff.

I never would have guessed they'd do Elswyr next, but I'm definitely interested to head there, so glad they are. Not sure I love them throwing in Dragons and Necromancy though. The triple dip of fan favorites makes me think they are really in need of players and more cash flow though, combined with Rich's overly defensive tweet about 'dead game eso' (let's not forget Honey Boo-Boo was a top money making show, so selling isn't always a sign of anything quality wise and is mostly just exciting for the shareholders if the quality of the game and player population consistency for more than the latest chapter or event isn't there). Worries me when I'm into the game, hopefully I'll be able keep having fun with it for another few years. But I guess at least this year is looking interesting.

There goes what was left of lore and logic. :D Real Dragons in ESO, which never happened and which was confirmed by ZoS to never happen. And undead chilling in all major towns and social hubs.

Glad I'm not the only one that sees this. I mean eso has been playing fast and loose with the lore since inception, but this is truly jumping the shark and disregarding all lore entirely.

Lore...lore... Oh, come on! ZOS can make another lorebook which will talk about dragons and this will become a new lore. It's a game and not a real history.
Bring it on! All this stuff sounds too fun.

And this is exactly how cows and whales would comment. Which just confirms my original theory, that you would be very pleased by all of this.

I just realize that lore is a one or couple guys' fantasy and anything can happen in the imaginary world.

Well, this "one or couple guys" fantasy as you call it is over 25 years in the making, and yes very "historical" in content.
You obviously don't understand the Elder Scrolls universe, so here is a little history lesson TES style......

Lets please necro all the TONS of threads of how Dragons ARE NOT seen in this time line. Dragons, and only one won't be seen for 300 years and their return wont happen for 900 years...
    Huzzah!

I guess I'm just not nerdy enough to take ESO "history" so seriously.
Just wait till 15th and they will give you all lore you need xD

As long as new content stays withing genre and is interesting I meet it with open arms.

Well, I gona say what have said before Morrowind:
Before ESO we didnt know about Three-Banner War or that Bal tried to consume world, or Serpent plot against Celestials, or incursion of dro-m'athra or that Nocturnal almost conqured all the realities, etc. and etc.
So the more ESO expands - the more those shadowy things will be revealed and can happen absolutely anything.

    "Lore-Breaking class"

Yeah, I too have never seen a Necromancer anywhere in ESO nor have I seen this...Thing called Sorcerer, "Vampire Skill Line" or "Undaunted Skill Tree".
Welcome, Moon-and-Star, to this place where destiny is made.

I play healers or DPS often for vet dungeons and trials (NA, CP810+). I play mostly elves or Argonians.
I primarily play Damage-Based stuff in PvP, but occasionally I'll play something tanky or got the heals.
I also love gaining more knowledge both metaphysical and mundane regarding TES lore.

I also occasionally role-play, but I prefer playing the game.

Hmmm...Worm Cult? Mannimarco? Molag Bal cultists? Conjuration school in Skyrim? Oh yeah those things that ALL involve necromancy in some shape or form are lore breaking yes indeedy.

Honestly there are dragons in this timeline it’s just that they are rare. (Maybe even mistaken for daedric titans) You see Tiber Septim in a few hundred years make a deal with wild dragons to protect them and then does not. After that they disappear. So it’s not a stretch for a dragon or dragons to be in ESO.

Will the dragons be restricted to Elsweyr? or will we see in other places as well?

If I could fancy a guess...restricted. But who knows. Still not sure if it would be a dungeon boss or maybe end of quest boss.

I'll be very disappointed if they contain dragons within Elsweyr and it doesn't make much sense either, dragons are top of the food chain and they go where they please unless they are slowly expanding dragon's territories in future release which makes more sense I guess.

I was gonna stop my 6 months subscription but this makes me change my mind.

Elsweyr is the homeland of Khajiit, so that's fine.

Khajiit are indifferent to necromancers according to a book documenting cultural opinions on necromancy and necromancy is... accepted by many outside of the Mages Guild, so that's fine.

    Dragons in Elsweyr? MUH LOAR!

The moment I see necromancer lorebreaking class happen I will say goodbye to this game, it will mean they are just after money and do not care at all sticking with the elder scroll theme at all. Also it would be super game breaking, you as necromancer would get slain by your necromancer cult leader, got your soul ripped and offered to molag bal...

I know you maniacs want to see necromancer happen but think about it lore wise...

EDIT: and how about first fixing damn broken warden skills and taking care of poor quality of cyrodil servers/random disconnects/lags,useless skill morphs, useless sets and so on...

lol what makes you an expert in what is lorebreaking and not ? is your name Lawrence Schick ?

Necromancy is everywhere and there is plenty of necromancers npc's in the game and in cyrodiil not related to the worm cult.

I never saw an official statement from the game that anyone doing Necromancy would be killed on sight... So it bugs the mind where all of you came up with this ridiculous idea.

I would be so utterly happy & content with an Elswyr chapter!..

The dragons/necromancer bit leaves me with an "I'll wait & see how they will implement this" attitude.
No, I don't believe dragons are lore-breaking in ESO time period.
Necromancy I would probably prefer as a skill line than an entire new class, but that's just me.

The folks at Zenimax have done a fantastic job with the storytelling & lore to this point, so I'm hopeful how this will play out..

How does a major company let their newest xpac and the hype that comes with it get torched by some amateur datamining? Don't get me wrong I am hype AF about necromancer but thats pretty terrible from the devs to stick assets in for a huge unreleased profit machine like an xpac.
