Just ignore the crown store and play the game, it's easily done and avoids getting uptight about what other players might be doing, none of which impacts on you. Nothing in the crown store or crates is essential to playing the game and if you approach it from that perspective nothing needs to have changed in your gaming since it went B2P.
My New Years Resolution is to buy no more Crowns.
This with the outfit system its no good reason to buy costumes, only use it for soft role play like running around in an skimpy outfit in Eastmark feels stupid.Just ignore the crown store and play the game, it's easily done and avoids getting uptight about what other players might be doing, none of which impacts on you. There is a nice difference between mounts like the cold flame wolf and the lizard wolf. While they are wolves they are cearly different.Just ignore the crown store and play the game, it's easily done and avoids getting uptight about what other players might be doing, none of which impacts on you. I really enjoy dressing up my characters with costumes and cool mounts but most of them are paywall locked. Would games like fallout or skyrim be nearly as fun if you couldnt dress up to your hearts content? As I said before a big chunk of an rpg is dress up and most of the cool things to dress up with is behind a paywall. Hell even the new motifs are put behind a SERIOUS RNG grind while you can buy it same day. It is IMPACTING GAMEPLAY.

In my case yes, but if you want that sort of stuff then you can carry on subscribing as if there was no B2P and use the subscription crowns for those sorts of things.
It really helps ones argument when they carefully choose examples that actually support what they are attempting to say.
Claiming the best cosmetics are locked behind the pay wall and using the indrik mount as the prime example destroys the premise.
The indrik Mount is available for free in game. Many of us already have the first iteration of the mount and won’t really be able to get the other designs any faster.

When all the best cosmetics are locked behind a paywall
So, all the trial skins, battlegrounds styles, achievement dyes, achievement furniture, soul shriven skin, tons of runebox pets and mementos, cool personalities like the telvanni magister and almost all of the motifs are LOCKED behind paywalls? I don’t remember paying real money or crowns to get the vast majority of those.
Also, are the other cosmetics really LOCKED behind paywalls if you don’t want to pay real money(not obtainable in-game)? I’ve opened 135 crates total, if memory serves me, and I paid in crowns only for 30 of them. ZoS, in no moment, stops you from buying from other players to get stuff. A costume you really want? If it’s 1000 crowns, 175K gold will get it for you. A pet? Close to that. A mount like the alliance war horse? 450-500K. If you farm properly, you can make that in 1-2 days.
“Ah, but you need to pay gold for that anyways.”
Then try completing endgame content without spending tons of gold on gear tempers and do the math for the cost. Nothing in this game that is hard to obtain comes free. Even master angler requires a lot of time, which would be much better spent fishing in Summerset or farming in good spots.
The ONLY thing currently locked behind a paywall is Summerset, which you MUST buy with real money. Other than that, it’s all obtainable in-game with variable methods. The “best” cosmetics, like the HoF skin and AS+2 skin, are only obtainable with hard work, while others, like very expensive furniture patterns, can go for upwards of one million. What could you buy with that? Yes, 5000 crowns, or if it’s a cheaper one, a costume, DLC or whatever. It’s all about choice.
Complaining about cosmetics like this is doesn’t make sense. The way people speak it seems we are all forced to be bland, similar NPCs with the same clothing. Just look at your big spender friends and see how much of what they use is REALLY locked behind paywalls other than their mount, pets and sometimes weapon styles, and even so, as I said before, you can get most of them with gold-crown trading.
I’ve said this in other posts and I’ll say it again: want to complain? Complain about the absurdity that is Jewelry crafting being locked behind the paywall that is Summerset, along with relequen, siroria and olorime. THAT is what can get dangerous in this game and should be always brought up so it doesn’t happen again.

Besides the indrik the only mounts you can buy with gold/earn are the horses. Over 60% (Rough estimate) of cosmetics are crownstore/case only.
And you may be paying gold to someone but theyre still paying RL money... thats still a payall.
We can complain about cosmetics and the jewelry crafting.. its not one or the other.

Whats to stop em from putting the worm wizard personality or all the dungeon skins in the crownstore. It devalues the skin as players wont know if you did all the hard work or just bought it.
This, starting to get more selective to even is eso+ and buy some crowns from time to time.MLGProPlayer wrote: »I use an outfit. Agreed. I have a load of different mounts and costumes, none of them purchased. The only things by and large that I do purchase are houses, because I'm not a trader and don't have the amount of gold necessary to buy them ingame - so it's a godsend to me that I can get them with my subscription crowns.
They will not put achievement stuff in crown store An yellow Do'matra skin is not an achievement item.Whats to stop em from putting the worm wizard personality or all the dungeon skins in the crownstore. It devalues the skin as players wont know if you did all the hard work or just bought it.
"Hard work"
When I saw this advertisement in zone today, I realized I can stop trying to find 3 competent players to actually earn that personality. So far I lost count of how many hours I wasted gathering "exp please" players, and then wasted lot of time on fail runs with them cause they died stupidly or failed mechanics when trying hard mode. If such players can be carried for those achievements, for me this personality is already devalued and if it hits the crown store someday, I won't buy it.
...If they put Beast personality or Spiderkith skin in store though, I think I will stop using those on my characters

When all the best cosmetics are locked behind a paywall then a large chunk of the appeal of an mmo is locked up as well. Part of the fun is standing out in a crowd. Making your character special compared to those around. Sure this isnt how everyone plays but if everyone looked the same a large chunk of players wouldnt be here.
The indrik mount in the store
This game suffers a lot from making all the cool mounts behind a paywall... they finally release a mount that needs to be earned via gameplay and grinding so when you use it you can proudly sh- SIKE
Whats to stop em from putting the worm wizard personality or all the dungeon skins in the crownstore. It devalues the skin as players wont know if you did all the hard work or just bought it. 'Let people have fun and spend money if they want'. There are plenty of money only options... Why shouldnt there be some cool gameplay only ones?
Snowcap Fledgling Gryphon
To celebrate the gift giving period.. gift your fellow players and get this cool pet.
All good
SIKE
Now my main issue here is there was no indication it wouldnt only be for gifting. If it was stated it would be in the store later on thats fine.. but it gave a false sense of pressure to do the gifts now when surpise, you can also buy it later.
I like this game, I do.... But when I launch it and feel pressed to launch the store, makes me wanna launch another game instead.
Motifs are being affected as well
They release a new one, lock it behind an rng grind fest..but just so happen to release it on the store same day. Pushing people to buy instead of grind, its affecting gameplay
